i really dont know answer that. I think about 2 years, but i was a lithe shy, i think than when you know the meaning of the cards you can start to doing readings for others. this way is the better to pratice.

Almost immediately. I got my first deck last summer and my first readings aside from my own were for my son and his friends and other friends of mine. I remember feeling surprised that their readings seemed better than the ones I did for myself. Heh.

Hi Tony,
I'm quite shy and I like to think that I can actually do something before I inflict myself on others :)
I've been reading for about 4 years, started reading for others on-line about 2 years ago and I've only just started reading for others face to face.
I actually think that once you get over the nerves, reading face to face is easier as you get instant feedback - stops you going off in completely the wrong direction.
Love
Sulis xx

I don't think my readings were extremely accurate, if you know what I mean ;), but around 2-3 months after getting my first deck. Just as a fun thing for friends.

About 6 months after getting my first deck I was reading for firends (but still looking at the book) and I think it's one of the best ways to learn just to jump in cause practice makes perfect (although I am still so far from that it's not funny :) ). This may nopt work for some people but I found that doing readings helped the card images and meanings stick in my mind. Everyone knew I was a beginner so I think they may have made allowences for me looking at the book and I didn't charge them or anything so it all worked out well.

Umm....I've been reading for like 6 years, off and on of course, and I still wont read for people I dont know. I read for a few friends, and thats about it. But then again, Im one of those people that likes to sit and watch people at a party for a few minutes before I go and join in a group that I feel like I would be comfortable in.
I think thats part of why I love tarot. It sort of gives me that extra little bit (or an extra lot) of information so I can decide where Im comfortable and how to get there.

Ive only being doing tarot about a month, but I started doing it on my friends within days. I said to them that most of these readings won't be accurate and i'm just practising, but strangely most readings for friends are quite accurate.
I'm not a shy person so thats why I geuss I started doing it on others instantly....but everyones different

As soon as someone saw me with the cards, I began reading. I had male and female querents. They were all interested in girl/boyfriends.

I bought the cards and a crappy little book. I really didn't know what to do with them. I tried interpreting them, but it was really difficult at first. They ended up sitting in my drawer for about 2 years. Last summer I got them out and was determined to learn once and for all. I went and bought a much better book. Now, less than a year later, I can read very well for myself and others.
So I guess that's a total of 3 years since I bought them. How fast you can learn is really all about how determined you are to do it.

Took me close to 30 years. :) But there were mitigating circumstances.
I would say a couple of years.
