Readings, Energy and Excitement

I hope i can express what I want to say as I am having trouble verbalising this. I find when I do a reading for someone else, that I kind of tap into an energy source that I can only describe as excitement. Perhaps it is merely that I like the fact I am helping people or maybe it is something more.... Anyway after a reading I feel kind of light and almost on a high. It is a nice feeling and lately I have noticed that this is transferring to the querant as well. I will state at this point that I currently only do written readings via email. But then I get feedback via email or phone. I am having trouble describing it...but the querant rings all excited and then it rubs off on me again and there seems to be this transferance of excitment (Energy?) I am curious about others experiences here. Is it merely the excitement of getting a reading right? Is it tapping into a source of energy and acting as a channel and thus being touched by this positivity? Or option three am I just nuts? Any ideas? Opinions?

You are definitely not alone in this. You described the sensation very well. I had felt this before I read tarot. I operate a web site that is directed at helping women who have been battered find hope, help and healing. I receive email from women often who need some word from me even more than practical help. I have often sat at my computer with only a few bits of information from them to go on and suddenly I will just know what I need to say to them. It's as if I've suddenly plugged into this central heart of understanding that knows her, that knows me, that knows what is needed. I don't always hear back from them, but when I do it is usually something along the lines of, "Your words were exactly what I needed to hear. I feel so sure now of what I need to do." It's humbling, really, because I know the words were not mine exactly. I know they were given to me for her at the right time. Because I know the difference when this magical thing happens and when it doesn't. I know when I'm writing to a woman with my own sense and judgment, and it's not that those things are useless (clearly, they're not), but the words don't sing to her soul in the same way. Good advice, sure, and that isn't a negative thing. I've learned not to expect that divine connection every single time, and I've learned to really enjoy and appreciate it when it happens. In readings, this same thing happens with me and the querent. Sometimes, and I can just tell, the reading sings. Other times, it's not that the reading is terrible or that it's not accurate, it may be perfectly fine and quite accurate, but it's not singing. No song. No windswept melodies. Just pictures and words, meaningful sure, but no singing. ~Mercy

It took me many years to realize what you just did... to understand my own energy signature, and then realize I could "feel" others' signatures. In the earliest stages, it's like when you get really excited/nervous/happy... reminds me of the nervous energy I'd get when the boy I liked would stop and talk to me as a teen, that rush of intense excitement. And (I'll even say it,) it feels a lot like getting high. ;) The more you pay attention to this sensation, the more you will learn how to use it. You (and me, and everyone) have the ability to "synch" your energy with another, and in doing so, it creates a buzz that a "sensitive" person will feel strongly. Even the selfproclaimed nonpsychic will often feel me "buzzing" them, if I'm trying. Bringing the sensation into your awarenesss, as you just have, is the first crucial step. Using it will teach you how to direct this gift, how to refrain from sending your energy when necessary, and how to use it to assist others, esp. if they are low. Just pay attention to when you feel it happen, and notice the people in your company. You will soon see patterns, and those patterns will teach you how to use your gift.

Yes! I know exactly what you describe, Free Flight! (and you do describe it well!) It's that getting energy back from the querant...that excitement! It's why I can do readings for hours and hours without moving. I like the way you describe it too, Alissa...that feeling of seperating your own energy signature from anothers....and that feeling of all the energy that bounces around the room. I am way too sensitive to this sometimes! It's very much like the energy that one gets from being on stage as well....Sometimes a performance (like a tarot reading) can go bad because you are not getting anything back from the audience...and all you do ie exert the energy....but find it hard to maintain because you need to blend it with other excitment energy. It's why it's so hard for me to do readings on this forum...and get an accurate interpretation. because I can feel the energy of the person sitting across from me, I can feel better what I should say, and what I should not say. Picking up,and empathically blending with the energy of the querant makes it sooo much easier.
