we are doing this on a mother's forum that i visit and it's just wonderful. so let's all write a portion of a story together. then we can print it out and share it with others if we choose.
post a few paragraphs each and wait for at least 2 other people to post before you post again. come on....i know there are so many talented writers out there.......let's do this and have some fun with it.
it was so dark, as i walked along the path i had to trust my memory to stay upon it and not fall into the bushes on either side. i could see the candles in the distance. i knew that everyone would be waiting for me to arrive. feelings of panic began to overtake me. "what if he didn't like what he saw? what if he chose not to go thru with it?" my insecurities were getting the best of me when i felt a hand upon my shoulder.
i turned and instantly i knew..............

I turned and instantly knew that I was in the wrong place! I felt it in my heart, oh, why did Valerie talk me into going?
I turned around and saw a strong bare arm with a tattoo of a celtic-tribale snake running from the back of his hand to his muscular shoulder. The distant candle light made it seem to writher and sway. He grasped my shoulder gently but firmly.
I looked passed his shoulder and saw he was wearing a mask. It seemed to be leather but in the shapes of leaves... Large horns loomed above but all I was drawn to were his black, glinting, fire-flickering eyes.........

Large horns loomed above but all I was drawn to were his black, glinting, fire-flickering eyes....
With his other hand he held a finger up to where a mouth would be. He jestured for me to follow. He lead me away from the candlelight and back into the darkness. Though we had turned around, this was not the path I had just tread upon. It was so dark and so still. My footsteps made no sound and my head began to spin....

...I felt carresses on my body from invisible leaves on trees that I knew did not exist. I heard the sounds of small animals making love. The air was filled with the green scent of wet trees. I walked blindly through the dark, trusting in my intuition. I could still hear heavy and strong footsteps ahead of me. But where were they leading me? And why did they sound like the footsteps of a four-legged beast? A wild, primordiol cry sounded ahead of me...

A wild, primordial cry sounded above me, and there was a sudden, yet welcoming gust of wind in my hair. I felt my brown curly locks catch on something - what exactly this something was I wasn't sure.
And then just as gentle as the breeze on my face, my hair was pulled back and I realised, was being tied up into tiny knots. The figure beside me sighed heavily, and somehow in the deepness if my heart I knew everything would be okay. Is this what Valerie had been talking about? Was I being prepared?
As the invisible folk let me go, I stubbled forward and into the arms of the familiar stranger.....

...was it the scent of creosote and orange blossoms or his touch that made my head spin? i swayed at his touch as he scooped me up into his arms. i heard the crunch of the leaves on the unfamilliar path, and felt branches pass my shoulders as i remained curled in his effortless embrace. i kept my eyes closed and my fear at bay, as i took in the musky scent of his closeness and the cool night air on my back. i felt the eyes of nocturnal creatures all about us as we passed through the trees.
gently, he placed me on my unsteady feet, and stroked my hair wordlessly. i was greeted by mother moon, glowing like giant tangeringine down on the opening in the wood. i turned to speak, and my chariot, my guide, was gone.

When I opened my eyes, I was kneeling in the middle of a candlelit circle. Many figures shrouded in shadows stood around me. Despite the darkness and frightening surroundings, I felt welcome. Astral creatures danced in the firelight. Tiny dragons played in the flames, pristine white unicorns pranced around. The sky had all kinds of creatures as well. All seemed to be singing. The beauty of the music made me want to sing as well. Raising my arms, I started to sing. As I let my voice be free, so was my spirit. I felt truly at home...

the sound of my own voice jolted me out of my sleep. i looked around at all the other faces staring at me.............."how could i fall asleep again" this was so embarrassing. i started to get up and move to another seat but my body would not respond. was i awake, or still dreaming?
