Seems like all the best Royals are gone! First Princess Di, now the Queen Mum...?! Damn! She was so cool! Now all we've got left is bloody Prince Phillip, with a mouth that should be sewn up permanently to save out country more embarrassment! (He's the Royal who keeps on asking stupid questions to people of other cultures an countries, or saying really stupid things about other culture and countries... He one said to some exchange students going off to China: "Don't stay there too long, you'll get all 'slitty eyed'... Uhuh... And also recently asked a group of Aborigines : "Do you still throw spears at each other?")
I think the Queen Mum was cool. And its a real shame she died! But it wasn't really a chock She was 101, and really ill...

Hi
I'm not going to pretend that I liked the woman but I did find myself glued to the TV as soon as I found out this time yesterday. (My thoughts are with the family)
As I'm from London and missed Mag's funeral the other week as I was away, I like her.
I must say I really really felt it when Diana died, I found myself crying so many times. But the Queen's mother was born in the older generation so that could be why it didn't come as a big shock + her age as well!

You see, I am not from UK... but I was sad all the same.
The Queen Mum was so cool! So charismatic! Her smile was so motherly - unlike EllyBetty's... OUCH! I typed "was"... :(
When Di died, I was shattered... I couldn't believe it.
I was depressed for a month... even though I was young, and not this much into politics and all, I really loved Di, she was a great example to me... She'll always be in my heart.
(P.S. You know, I went three or more times to London in my life, but I wasn't strong enough to visit the former house of Di, nor anything else... :()

mourning for her passing for the sake of her family, but I'm not exactly a monarchist...

I've never been a monarchist myself either. But there were certain Royals that I thought did England good (At least they bring in tourism! ;) ) The Queen Mum IMO was one of them... *Sniff*
