I would have to agree with Joy - the cards themselves are just printed paper cards, the magic is in how you use them. They are a tool, in my opinion. An extremely "workable" tool!

Definetly agree on the paper is paper part...and the 'in front of me part'!...
And thats all that really bothers me. They work. Sorted.
Whether the energys come from me, the universe, my gods or my guides, I have no idea, but since I fully trust all of those parties, I fully trust anything that comes up on the cards...

Yes, I do believe. I believe there is a power that works with tarot, automatic writings, crystal balls... You can apply this power to everything, since it's going through *you*. :)

If I didn't believe, I doubt I'd be here, on this forum, sitting next to a collection of nearly 50 decks!
Tarot is just another method of sorting things out. Its just that the method Tarot is is a bit more enigmatic than most methods, thus the views held by most people about them.
To me, it is our minds that really do the work when we do a Tarot reading. The images on the pieces of card act as triggers for the unconscious to reveal what it already knows.
