Drugs

So have you taken any? I used to have a big problem with drink when I was a teenager but I went into rehab to sort things out but I'm lucky that I can still drink today without it becoming a problem as my father is an alcoholic and one of my best friends ended up killing herself because of drink and the things she got up to. I also smoke cannabis but that's a hard on because it's less harmful than alcohol but it's that I end up spending too much time waiting for things to happen in my life instead of going for things myself. I also had a very bad time with acid NEVER again and I've taken a few E's but I'm now clean and have learnt the hard way. I was just running away from things...... I felt that I had to go through all the above as I was brought up in a disfunktional family with all sorts ging on but I'm 30 and I'm not going to touch drugs ever again. FP

o.k. I'll be the brave and stupid one here. I admit I used to smoke pot and take acid ! I haven't taken any acid since , oh.........probubly the early 80's. And I haven't smoked AnyThing for 7 years! I totally quit smoking cigarettes so I wouldn't smoke or touch anything else , for one reason just because I quit and another because I'm afraid I would then break down and smoke a cigarette. What do I think about drugs? I'm afraid my opinion may be too politically incorrect. Well , I have to Run off to my new job! Maybe I'll have time to pop in later. p.s. I don't like over the counter or prescription drugs , and have to be close to near death before I'll even take an asprin or tylenol! I'm wierd but adament about it! I do however, think it's hypocrisy and also stupid to have alcohol be legal but pot be illegal.

"stupid to have alcohol be legal but pot be illegal" I agree with that one Purplelady as alcohol is 10 times worse than spliff. I forgot to say that I took coke when I was about 15 just the once and never again BUT I felt soooooooooo confident and it's so addictive so I just said no the next few times it was offered to me. Also when I took that bad acid tab for a bout 3 months after everything I dreamed about came true! and it opened up alot of things clairvoyantly!!! But it's not worth it. It's only recently that I dicided to give up the old spliff as I didn't see anything wrong with it as I was always chilled but I have to ask myself could that of added to my depression. I was the ex-boyfriend that caused my depression but I think smoking spliffs had it's part to play. FP

when i was a teenager i did everything that was available at that time. then i grew up :) i smoked pot for a few years in my mid twenties but i don't drink, smoke or do drugs now. my body is my temple and i'm careful with what i put into it. but i have been there, done that! in light, jade

I've only smoked pot once, which was about a year ago. It was okay. Nothing special really. I wouldn't go out of my way to do it again.... I don't like the taste of alcohol (GASP! A 17 year old that doesn't drink??!!!) and I don't smoke. I have nothing against pot, cuz I don't think its harmful. The view that it leads to hard drugs is a myth, and I think legalisation of it would actually stop some of the problems we do get surrounding drugs. Kiama

I rememeber when I went to Amsterdam just to get stoned and came back not wanting to have a spiff as it's nothing special over there so no big deal. I think that's my only weekness but I can stop when I want to it's not a problem as it was when I was a teenager. I don't see the point of getting stoned any more it's different if you just want to relax after you come back from work. But so far so good.

Hey I think it's really cool that we're an open enough group to admit trying drugs! Me, too... As a teenager, I smoked pot nearly everyday, got pissed (drunk) whenever I could, took magic mushrooms a few times, tried e at a nightclub, snorted speed for fun, dropped acid nearly every weekend. I was on a drug binge. I guess I had a pretty crappy childhood, but that was no excuse for me going nuts. But I got it all out of my system reeeeeeeal quick, and now I would never touch anything but pot, now knowing the effects of drugs. Nowadays I would only smoke pot once or twice a month, relaxing with good friends in a safe environment. I don't think I learnt anything from my druggie binge, except that drugs make you feel like a different person, while you are under the influence. Some people need to feel that for a while - most people "get over it" like any other teenage craze, but of course the reality is is that some poeple can get hooked. The worst drug out there is alcohol - this drug kills people and hurts families in a much more wider sense than any other drug. In the words of the South Park psychologist - "Drugs are bad, mmmmmm'kay?!"

Only caffeine. I mean, "Caffeine is the only drug I've ever consumed," not, "Only caffeine is bad."
