Queen of the Damned: The Movie - has anyone seen it???
I still have not read anything by Ann Rice, so I can't comment on it's authenticity to the book but the movie was great!
I prefer not to relate it to Interview with a Vampire because it really is a different movie...
I don't normally like really heavy music but in this movie it worked so well! Stuart Townsend was so good looking it was destracting... :p Go see it!!!
BTW: Aussies - The movie was mostly filmed it Melbourne so look out for all the soapie stars and B-grade Aussie actors in the background, it's hilarious to see them in this capacity! :D

Personally, I can't wait to see it though I don't expect it will be out here in the u.k. for another couple of months.
I have read the book and we will see if the film lives up to it or not !
Spent some time in New Orleans last year and did the whole Anne Rice tourist bit.

I'm looking forward to the film coming out, I've tried to read the book but couldn't get into it but the same thing happened with 'Interview with a Vampire' - didn't like the book but loved the film. Infact the only Anne Rice book I really read and enjoyed was 'The Mummy'.

I love Anne Rice's "Vampire Chronicles" & her "Mayfair Witches" series. I hated The Mummy. Funny, isn't it? I have to say, though, that as much as I looked forward to reading about the old vampires, her recent works aren't my fav's. Too predictable, I guess. Emily, have you read the Mayfair witches series? You might like those - at least the first one.

Hi Amyel,
No I haven't read any of the 'Mayfair Witches' ones - I might see if the library has them in - There was another Anne Rice that I read and did enjoy but I still can't think of the name of it - but it was'nt one of her horrors - it was a sort of love story set on an island but very different, not one of her Beauty stories, but set around the central figure of a female domanitrix (sp) lol - good book though :)

The only anne rice book I liked was Pandora...I admit I didnt mind her Beauty series to much either...
From what I have heard from people who have read the Queen of the Damned..Is that the movie sucks compared to the book...Actually I have heard it from every person who has read the book before the movie...Maybe best to see movie first then read book?
