i have a girlfriend, that is making me a pressie. and i LOVE pressies :D she has offered to make me a huge stained glass piece to hang in the front window of my new house (we move at the end of may!) she told me to find a pattern and she'll make it. soooooo, is anyone into stained glass and do you know of any sites with some free patterns of fairies or goddess'. stuff like that. i found one that i like, but it's not quite what i had in mind.......i really would love to find a fairie in a grove of flowers and mushrooms. this is the image i have found with a free pattern. i am soooo excited about moving and now this too!!! i could just burst :D :D :D :D :D in light, jade :)

erm... couple of questions... How big is this going to be? Do you want clear or opaque glass used? What shape do you want? Never know what some people can come up with on their own. ;)

if you can get to a good library, you might want to check out some books on poster art. these images are usually done in a graphic style and can be easily transferred into stained glass window patterns, the art nouveau and art deco posters were full of fairies. i'm so excited for you, about your new home!

it will be for the front, living room window and i'll be getting the dimensions once we MOVE IN!!!!!!!! i want something that resembles who and what i am/believe in. so i'm looking for something gentle, bold, beautiful and something that is sooo unique to everyone who sees it. (can you tell i'm a leo LOL) i would love to put pentacles in it too........but i don't want to come out to my neighbours in that way. i'm more of a......get to meet me, get to know me, kinda person. rather than putting pentacles up on my front window. LOL but i would love to learn how to do this so i could cover all my windows with them. :) jade ps kiama, the first on is my fav too :)

(can you tell i'm a leo LOL) jade, the only way to get exactly what you like is design it yourself, or have someone with you that can draw and you give instructions as how you would like to have it. from the ones you showed above, i like the first one best. other idea, get the picture you like, doesn't matter what, foto, drawing, whatever, and make it into a design for glasswork. btw, i really like the idea of such a thing, what a great offer from your friend !!! kaz

Oh, you've got to have flowers on it! Especially in a front living-room window. If you add an angel or a fairy, that would be just beautiful. But you've already got a Fairy at home. Perhaps an angel instead? Angels are more consistant beings (although Fairies are great fun to be with). Please show us what you decide on in the end!

Hi, Jade! Here's a website addy for you: www.art-n-glass.com that might give you an idea of what you may want. Doesn't hurt to look at other creations to inspire your own. I used to go to this site for free bead patterns. She also has the best beading books! She also has a whole section on stained glass with a free pattern, and books. I'm not too familiar with the stained glass because I went there mostly for the beading , but you may want to check it out. Also , if still on there , there's a whole humour section with things like Martha Stewart jokes! http://www.suzannecooper.com/index.html .

Ahhh....to listen to you all frolic.....just brings happiness to my heart!! :-)) You know stained glass is such an amazing thing.....you can look right through it into the soul of the creator... I have to partake........

Jade, I really like the first jpg you attached. Do you live near a large city? Usually in stained glass studios, besides selling finished pieces, they sell supplies and have oodles of pattern books. Maybe you could get some other ideas there. By, the way, I wish you happiness and health in your new home!

good point! i'll have to check into that. in case anyone wants to see other works of art by the first artist.....here's her beautiful site. i love her chakras, the individual one and i've been in contact with her. she'll put reiki symbols or whatever symbol you want (i'm sure) on one of the chakra glassworks instead of the chakra symbol. :) jade http://www.donna-glass.com/index.html

LOL, she wants an actual pattern and doesn't want to have any changes ..... she's good, but she's not comfortable attempting a piece that isn't patterned. soooooo, i've decided to go with the first one. AND she's making me a multi-coloured pentacle within a window frame. AND she's making me the reiki and white light symbols carved in wood made into a mobile for my living room windows :) what an amazing home we will have. :D :D :D :D :D :D and all that with our amazing beaded curtains that i'm making ........... i'm very excited about my new house! in light, jade
