A waste of 7 bucks

Last night I saw "Unfaithful" with Richard Gere. To make a long story short, I thought it sucked! Seriously...I've seen porn with better plots. (not that I'm a perv) But it's a total waste of 7 dollars. Anyway, what are some other movies you guys and gals think are a waste of money????

Count yourself lucky, movies cost nine bucks out here. :P The last time I wasted nine bucks was on About a Boy. It's not bad, it's kinda funny. But definately not worth nine bucks. Maybe seven, but more like the four bucks it would cost to rent it.

Uhm, anything with Richard Gere in it??? })
I don't like romantic movies or love stories, they're too "sweet" for me. I refused to go and watch Titanic; I already knew how it was going to end anyway... :D

I prefer movies with unexpected endings, such as Seven, or movies with a more cynical sense of humour, such as American Beauty or Thelma & Louise.

Movies really are so expensive at the theater now. I have to REALLY want to see a movie to do that. And then I go by myself... so I don't have to hear "pass the popcorn.. I have to go to the bathroom.. pass the soda.. what did she say?" That is truly annoying.

I did go and see Titanic twice though... LOL The next movie I want to see is "The Secrets of the Divine Ya Ya Sisterhood" or something like that. Although I may wait for video...

I remember my boyfriend going on about the film, 'The Man Who Fell To Earth'. He said it as an amazing film, and he put it on... I fell asleep about half an hour into it cuz I just found it unbelievably boring. Lucky I didn't spend any money on it, but I did waste my time! One film which I rented out was called 'Druids' and it was suposed to be an accurate retelling of the story of one of the wars back in those times... I can't remember which one, cuz I turned the film off halfway thrugh... The acting was even more wooden that that of Anakin in Episode 1, The Phantom Menace, and the 'accuracy' was about the same as me trying to hit a dart board with a dart. (NOT accurate at all, in other words.)

It really was rubbish.

Tarotlady! have you seen Titanic yet??? I was like you -- and I refused to go -- but somehow got talked into it and I was glad I did. GREAT movie! really! :) go rent it!!!!

I've seen it on tv and I thought it was waaaay to loooooong. The special effects were good though.
But then I told you I don't like sweet movies... ;)

What I did like was the parody on it that was done by French and Saunders, that was hilarious! They have parodied lots of movies, like Star Wars, Braveheart, Pulp Fiction, etc. Very funny!

Err... I got this movie out 'cause it was a 'cult classic' and all (and had a young David Bowie in it...) but man it was dull!!!

Anther really BORING 'cult' movie and one I just didn't get... Stanley Cubricks (sp?) 2001: Space Odessy...

Though I haven't been able to frequent the movie theaters in awhile, I tended to mostly go during the day when the tickets are little cheaper.

I am also the type of person who stops at a store to pick up some snacks then stuff them in my purse lol, so I don't have to buy all those snacks that are so OVERLY PRICED at the theaters.

I know, I know... I'm cheap lol. But I have so many other things I can use that money for.

jeez, chunky, are you serious? I loved LotR... 'Course, I still adore The Muppet Movie too, so wehat do I know... :)

Richard Gere is always lousy. Plus he was in my least favorite movie of all time, Pretty Woman. No, I'm not offended by prostitution; I'm offended by the whole Pygmalion/rags-to-riches/My Fair Lady load of poop. And I'm offended at the implication that, if someone tries to rape you, as long as your boyfriend punches him and fires him, it's no big deal. I still remember the chill that went through me when I saw it in the theater and the audience cheered at that scene.

...Unless you pay a bunch of moolah for BBC America, you can't get French & Saunders here... (sniff)

I only go to the movies when it is sponsered by our company so I only have to pay 3 € [is that 6 $?). I think that is ok and usually the films are good, eg LOTR in English version or "Chocolate", etc.

Oh, I loved Chocolate, great film!

By the way: €3 is about $2.80... ;)

The most boring film I've ever seen is called 'The Landgirls' and is *unbelievably* dull.

Also, I fell asleep during Oliver Stone's 'JFK' when I first saw it at the cinema, but then I watched it again on telly and thought it was alright -it obviously benefits from being able to get up & make a cup of tea....

This usually happened when I was watching "The Patriot", "The Jury" or stuff like that.

Marion  05 Jun 2002
wow, ouch, trashing all my fav movies. That's it, I am stomping off in a huff.
sniff.

Diana  06 Jun 2002
Marion: you won't get upset about this one, I'm sure.

My kid and I on Friday went to see the most ridiculous, stupid, unhealthy, badly acted, badly produced movie I've rarely seen. We went there thinking it was something completely different. It was called "Riders". YUK!

I was ashamed to have let my kid see it. I should have insisted on walking out after the first twenty minutes.
