'Lo all,
Did you ever lay on your back on the grass, hands behind your head, and disappear a cloud? With a little practice, and a day dreaming mood, you can do it. You can grow clouds too, but that's harder, I think.
Maybe you have to be a little kid to do this. I can do it. Maybe I never grew up.
So, I am saying goodbye.
I am off to Alaska for the summer where a little log cabin and the midnight sun in a remote corner of the North waits for me. Twenty hours of daylight, and moose and bears for neighbors. If you go outside in the watery twilight and howl, then wait, you will hear answering howls from the famous sled dog kennels a mile away. Neighbors.
Also, no computer, 'cause no electricity. No vast public library, Tai Chi classes, United Nations of restaurant choices. But, with a job driving a truck only three days a week, plenty of time to write. And loaf.
I know I've been impenitently periphrastic, always a divagator, but you've always answered my questions and been patient with my predjudices and the slow chuckwagon speed I move at. I've stood on the ground and admired you tarot funambulists, working high and daring without a net.
As a guide to life, searching for adventure is as naive as it is essential. To be free of self and the nagging necessities of maturity is usually to be irresponsible and wasteful, but on the road to adventure it is truly liberating and enchanting, the challenge and promise of the morning.
Sigh. Wordy again.
But, I layed out the three cards at the base of the Talisman spread, and this time they stood for Situation, Self, Journey, and the cards said "Go!"
I'll miss you all. Lots. More than I want to say. When I return in the fall, I'll pop in, but I probably won't find the warm tarot village I've known. Probably a busy and thriving tarot city.
But I will check in. Gods willin' and the crick don't rise.
So, I'll post this, pull the plug, turn out the lights, and go. Doesn't every writer dream of having a remote log cabin? Take care all,
Talisman

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
The rain fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand

Talisman... In a way, I am sad, because this is very short notice, and I will miss you more than I can express here.
But, I am so happy, because you are doing something you want to.. You're going on an adventure, and I know I would give a thousand days of Aeclecic for one of those.
Return to us in the Autumn, and show us the fruits of your labours.. Or, well, your loafings...
Blessings to you and your travels. You Fool (Tarot card style) you!

Several weeks from now, when I've got Writer's Block, Tarot-Reader's Block, or whatever kind of Block is bound to come up when it's all hot and humid and sticky here in the Midwest, I'm going to go outside and howl at the moon.
And somewhere in that land of the midnight sun, I expect a certain writer and his canis lupus arctos neighbors to howl back an inspirational reply!
Safe journey, Talisman. We'll miss you terribly!
Peace,
Melvis

Wow Talsiman, beautifully said.
I was sad... then happy and now envious! I am still in the cacoon stage before my own big adventure... I would love to be where you are right now!
Enjoy, take care and we look forward to your return. :D

I just can't pick a suitable smily for this post.
No smilies here, then...
I wonder whether I may hear your howling... I doubt it, since Alaska and Italy are WAY too far, especially as regards time zones...
I wonder whether you'll read this farewell posts as well...
I'm just sad... :(
BUT, I am waiting for your return. I'll be missing your wit and sharpness... But I hope your travel will provide inspiration, and fulfillment.
*Pollux opens the window and starts staring at the Moon...*

I'll be looking for reports from the end of the road. :)
And gems of wisdom from the north upon your return in the autumn. })
Fare well my friend.

A big ((((((((((((((hug)))))))))))))))) for the road - I wish you all well, and I know you will have loads of good stuff to pick up from this journey, of course you should go! Though we'll all miss you.
As a city chick (although Stockholm is such a small city it would probably go as a town in any other country...!) I can assure you: the depth of love and warmth doesn't depend on the size of the city - it will always be here.
Have a great time - see ya when you get back!
Light and love (and a little goodbye-sigh),
Jenny :)
