We've had polls about your eating habits, questions about your fave type of chocolate, your fave flavour of ice cream... Now, I wanna know who hates what food? How many of you detested brussel sprouts as a kid? Does anybody really like cauliflower cheese? What's the most detesed food ever? (Is it really Marmite?)
Me... I cannot eat shepherd's pie. Yuck poo, icky! And I don't like pork... Broad beans, lemon curd, cheese sauce, liquorice, or liver.
So, fans of food... What food, in your opinion, is a crime against humanity? :P ;) (My family firmly believe that any food I cook is a crime against humanity.)

I detest chicory and liver.
And I can't stand the smell of strawberries, because I used to pick them as a summer job when I was young. Since then I've never eaten strawberries again, or anything that remotely tastes like strawberry...

Tarotlady: Thanks for telling us why you don't like the food! I'd better explain why I don't like the foods I said...
Liver: was forced to eat this for school dinners when I was in Infant school.. I just can't stand it now.
Lemon Curd: A dare that I had to do, which ended up pretty bad...
Shepherds Pie: The way my father cooks it could put anyone off! He grew up in the Second World War, and his mother would put anything and everything into shepherds pie and stews... My father insists on putting baked beans and spaghetti hoops in it still! Agh! The same with beef casserole, but that's not so bad...
The others I just don't like the taste of.

LOLOL! I consider myself formally warned!!!
I am allergic to Peanuts so... if I don't want my face and throat to blow up like a balloon I am best to avoid these nasty little bullets of evil... And all dirivitives... :P Am also allergic to many fleshy fruits but I love the taste!!! :(
Other foods I just can't stand include: liquorice, dried fruit, beer, strong flavoured fish, olives and anchovies on pizza and turnups.

I feel somebody has to stand up for liquorice here! :P I love 'em! But that's not the subject here... so, what do I hate....? *thinking*
There's very few things I don't like. I'm not too fond of cashew nuts, yet they're not too bad in a meal. Ummmmm... I know there's something I don't like! *thinking some more*
Yea. Canned mangosteen sucks BIG TIME! When I was in Thailand, I ate mangosteens all the time; fresh they taste like heaven. Then I went home and bought this canned thing, just to get the feeling of them. Y-U-C-K! *grrrrr*

Dates look and taste like cockroaches.
And leechees, well they look like dead people's eyes and they're all slippery and taste like nothing.

I'm not a fan of black licorice but I like the Twizzlers red kind. I abhor brussel sprouts and asparagus, I've gotten used to green beans but they still aren't my favorite veggie. I'm also not a fan of anything really fishy type fish. Ick! And I WON"T eat Calamari! Gross!
When I was pregnant with each of my boys I couldn't eat chicken. Weird, huh? The worst part was I worked for Kentucky Fried Chicken at the time! My hubby used to bring me taco salads from Wendy's and I'd give him my lunch of chicken strips! LOL

Ugh! My mother loves the double salt licorice that you can get in the Netherlands(she is dutch) but I absolutely cannot stand them.
I do not eat any seafood(tried crab at a restaurant once, and nearly threw up on my plate). And I also do not like Shepards Pie, but I will eat ground beef, corn, and potatoes seperately.

I think you have to be Dutch to like those!! ;)
Always a fun thing to do though, offering double salt liquorice to foreigners, presenting it as a Dutch delicacy... })
Personally, I think it's disgusting...

Quince. I can't stand the flavor of quince whether its ripe or not.
Other than that, I'll eat, appreciate, and enjoy to one extent or another, anything you put in front of me!

Kayne - I'm allergic to nuts too. Don't you just hate having to be so careful when ordering food? Sometimes they sneak those "little bullets of evil" into anything - soups, salads, pie crust - Scary!
I won't eat anything with mayonnaise and the smell of eggs makes wanna hurl. God, nothing is worse than a smelly egg salad sandwich! And I'm not fond of olives but if some are mixed in a dish I won't freak. And I'm with all of you liver-haters. In fact any organ meat, to me, is disgusting. Oh, and canned, mushy tuna fish is horrible - another smelly food.
I can't eat anything that doesn't appeal to my nose as well as my mouth. those two senses were made to go together. Did you ever close your eyes, smell a banana and eat an apple? The apple sort of tastes like a banana. Weird...

This is true...
A friend of my dad's (a long time ago) was raving about this little dish of stew his wife left in the fridge.
Heated it.
Eated it.
Picked on it some more for a midnite snack.
It was cat food.

I can't eat raw fish (sushi) or undercooked meat - I don't like the taste or the texture and, the few times I have tried to eat this kind of food I've always worried about stomach upsets lol

than eat lima beans. Hate jelly beans, too. No black licorice,(red not as bad). When I was a kid loved raisins, now I can't stand them. This one is weird, too. I used to like onions, and hate tomatoes. Now,it's the other way around.
Choked on popcorn once, so I don't eat that either.(even though I liked it(weird what you choke on sometimes makes you never try it again.LOLOLOL) My S.O. choked on scrambled eggs once, hasn't had them since. Dried fruit is nasty!!Who thought of gelatin? That "stuff" that "holds together" other"stuff?"Nasty......
Buttermilk? The smell alone could burn your nose hairs...

It's a fruit that's fairly common in the middle east and Mediterranean area. Bleah! I'm glad that someone likes them, because I can't stand 'em! Here's a link and a picture of a quince fruit.

I can't stand clams and lobster. Clams remind me of pencil erasers and lobster is like chewing on mushy walnuts. YUCK!
And I can't stomach Spinach, canned or fresh. I've worked in restaurants and if you've ever had to try and clean a head of lettuce that's gotten a rotten side, well that's what canned spinach reminds me of, rotten lettuce. Maybe fresh is okay but I just can't bring myself to try it.
I do have to say, I for one love liver with lots of onions.

I can't stand..............brussel sprouts, lima beans , green beans, and beets (mind you the last 2 are Canned and mushy) I CAN stand Fresh green beans and beets which taste much different to me.
I won't eat anything with mustard on it (The liquid yellow stuff) But I've eaten dishes with powdered mustard spice on it and That was Good! I won't eat things that are swimming in mayonaise, and I really don't care for eggs, they give me heartburn (though I occasionally eat them , and certainly they are in many many foods!)
Rhiannon, I LOVE chicken! But when I was pregnant with my first son I could not eat it at all! Much later , I came across an article somewhere that mentioned that American Indians wouldn't let their pregnant women eat chicken . They believed there was something in it that could harm the unborn child? I also craved tacos and mexican food! A lot of women do apparently , I wonder why?
As for choking, I won't eat those hot peppers that come in a shaker bottle of flakes at pizza places. I once put some on my pizza and somehow inhaled just the pepper flakes and it caught in my throat right on my windpipe and I made this awful wheezing sound for a few minutes as it burned in there! Not worth putting on the pizza! (Although everyone else still eats them!)

All this talk about cravings reminds me of my memories of my Mum when she waspregnant with Nicola.. I would come home from school every day, to find her scraping ice out of the freezer. She had a craving for ICE! Of all things! Well, at least its free! :D
When she was preggers with me, she ate about 10 packets of Cheesy Wotsits a day. I came out with Cheesy Wotsit coloured hair. Nicola came out with blonde hair... She craved Blue Stilton with Sarah, and we were rather hesitant on the phone when asking what colour hair she had! ;) :P

Talking about pregnancy cravings now? Mine were pickles... handfuls of pickles. They had to be the hamburger sliced style dills. I waited tables the first 7 and some months of my first pregnancy, and the owner of the place finally gave up and bought a 5 gallon bucket of pickles just for me. :D Then there was wheat crackers, and chinese food, and salty potato chips with ranch dressing (instead of dip). With my second one, it was anything cold! *LOL* She was born in August. Anybody who's been in the southern US in summer knows that it wasn't pretty. (LOTS of humidity... 70 degree F dewpoints some days and heat!) Then there was anything to do with chili soup, and Taco Bell. That goes for both of them.
Dislikes... any sort of seafood (out of necessity). Most things deep fried. Hot dogs, bologna, etc... basically anything that had to be ground into a pulp and reformed into "food" before people are able to eat it. Oh, and overcooked vegetables. They have plenty of those around here. *L*

I hate flan. When I visited Europe in High School they constantly tried to shove it down my throat. Hot, Cold, flavored, it was all disgusting. Also do not like black licorice (including black jelly beans) candied ginger or lima beans
Lets see my first pregnancy i craved salad and milk, drank a gallon of milk myself one day. Also thats when i made my apple and butter sandwich lol. I think it was mostly pasta and other carbohydrates in the second pregnancy.

Just one day? I used to drink a gallon of milk at least every other day, if not faster. Would buy 5 or gallons at one time and freeze them. The fridge was set juuuust right... the milk would thaw just fast enough for me to drink about a gallon a day. *L* That's one expensive habit!

When I was pregnant..It was TACO BELL..Red hot sauce...subway subs the spicy italian with lots of MAYO, black olives, onions, hot peppers and banana peppers...NO wonder my poor child has indigestion problems :( lol
HATE: Cooked green peppers. Okra (had to pick it one time, then come home and wash it all. it was slimy and I cut the crap out of my hands because it was so slippery NEVER again!
Raisins, my brother used to force feed me raisins..
Seafood like crabs, lobsters, specially imitation seafood ::gag::
Rice (I will eat it because my mom cooks it..not very much) I never have liked rice since i saw the movie Lost boys..When the rice turned into maggots...Usually I can eat thru anything..but that movie..Rice YUCK!! I still picture maggots to this day..I saw this movie 11 years ago..

Sometimes I like the coconut taste (like in Sonic's Oceanwater!), but the shredded coconut I cannot stand, like on a cake. Coconut totally ruins a cake for me. It gets stuck all in your mouth, like sand or hair. ewwwwww.

i despise hog chitlins and souse. they are both made out of hog guts. i simply think of anything more disgusting. how anyone can eat anything that smells like feces is beyond my wildest imaginings. there are foods i don't like but i think cat food is a step above chitlins or souse. i mean i think cat food would make a mean meatloaf! just add tomato sauce, bread, onions and peppers. there's no way you can pretty up cooked hog guts thank you very much! LOL i don't like lemon merginue pie, oysters or tomatoes but i don't find them totally disgusting. greasy foods tend to nauseate me even if i like the taste. other than that i'm not picky. i'll even eat brussel sprouts and brocoli.
