Is there something you are more passionate about then tarot? I am not meaning family..I think that is a given...
For me it is writing.....If for some odd reason I had to give up tarot or writing..i would drop tarot in a minute..I know this would never happen..just giving an example..

my ultimate passion is music, drumming in particular. nothing's more valuable than that to me. and so, if someone were to ask me to leave either that or tarot... well, you have to do what you have to do... =(

Well Most people dont..it is just basically if you had to..if it came down to it..It is a fun question..obviously if someone asked me that I would tell them in a few durogatory terms what to do with themselves...

Came down to what? Death? Then I guess I would die. I'm just that kinda girl. :)

OOPS - sorry RedWood :(
Faustus/Faust - that tale/play about a man who sells his soul to the devil so he can live out his dreams. Giving me an Ultimatum like that just reminded me of the story. Don't worry - you're not as dim-witted as me - I can't even remember who wrote it, or if Faust was the man or the devil! Eeep! :P

If it came down to my sewing machine or my tarot cards... The cards would go. I love my tarot cards. But sewing is my escape from the world around me. I love to sew and my sewing machine is my pride and joy.
Yesterday I finished my very first quilt!!!

Scuba diving, definitely! To me, it's like meditation: floating weightlessly in the water, with only the sound of your own breathing... And to be able, at the same time, to enjoy the magical underwater world.
Some experiences I will never forget, because they were so beautiful: diving with dolphins; the first time I encountered a turtle; all my shark dives; the time when three humpback whales passed our boat just before a dive and we could still hear them by the time we were under water; the time we crossed a blue hole, when you can only see blue water all around you, no bottom, no surface, no coral walls...
Sorry, I could go on for hours... ;)

Goethe, and he was the man. :)
My passion would definitely be my artwork... even just the little doodles that usually end up coming out of it. *L* Of course, since I -am- using my own artwork on the deck I'm working on......

My first passion is singing and song writing. People say I have a kinda bluesy alternative voice. I would love to start my own band eventually but right now I am way to busy with the baby and all, and of course, my baby comes first.

Well, I guess I'd be prepared to give up most stuff for something else...I don't really hold much in single, obsessive hobbies, and I have whole barrel full of little pastimes I could carry on with...
Like exam revision....AARGH!
But the same goes for all my hobbies...I'd rather let it go, and come back some day that get all emotional over it and get twisted up...

Writing for me too Redwood. I just love that feeling (I call it being "on a roll") when the words practically just appear on the page, without effort, and everything is coming together in the story...it's amazing.

For me it's reading. I always have to have a good book. It keeps me sane. The cool thing is that any other thing I get into, I can read about it. So many tarot books, so little time.

i really wish i had an answer for this. i used to think of myself as a very dispassionate person. that nothing ever really grabbed hold of me very tightly. but the past year, i've been paying more attention... i am -[too]- passionate. when i find something beautiful or exciting, i dive in face first. my passions include poetry and words in general (particularly my use of such), publishing (i thought this would be my one true passion, but it seems to have fallen aside for the moment to fit other things), digital photography, tarot, music (the experience of listening more than the creation of), good conversation, singing, finding spiritual balance, and other more sensual pleasures (such as food, drink, and sex).
still, i am looking for that one true thing that thrills me. but i'm not sure i'm going to find it. and this puts me in a fairly good position, for if i had to give up any one of my passions, i still have plenty more to fulfill me :}

I think i would give up tarot if i could never read a book again... i simply would not survive.:( Its my way to escape from the world when i just don't like it anymore. ( Well its better than drugs ore something like that ;) )
