I hate when I work late, and have to go in the next day very early. Why do people schedule other people like that? It seems that they make the, "Big Bucks,"for a reason other than making "THE LITTLE PEOPLE," happy. Now that I still can't sleeeeepppppp, any ideas for relaxation??????? Candles are lit, just worried about not getting any zzzzz's at alll....and then being exhausted allll day.....
NOT FUN RIGHT NOW!!!!!

i don't think i could sleep a minute if i had candles lit, i am too nervous about fires...

but i do see how lighting a candle and meditate a while to unwind might be helpful.

i also hate those schedules when you have to work until 8pm and then start again at 8 the next morning.

helpful sleeping-tips:

*herbal teas - not too hot, try one with hops and chamomille, if you are stressed out some motherworth might do the trick too.

*make sure your bedroom is not too hot, open a window and best of all - change bedlinnen (nothing as nice as fresh bedlinnen)

*take a bath with some drops of lavenderoil in the tub.

*if you are a worrier, write a note to yourself promising to continue to worry more tomorrow. silly, i know - but it has helped me in the past.

WOWOW!!! Jema, you said it all!!!

In the bath I add some bath-salts, rose often, and dried flowers if I have them (of course, depending on the type of satls I put in - i.e. almost always roses :P).

Another thing that works well for me is incense. Actually I dig on Lavender and Sandal, but any type that helps you get relaxed might do...

I don't use candles, I'm anxius too - also because I tend to sleep with the windows open myself, and the wax and the candle itself might fall and ... ARGH!!!

OH!!! Another thing: I love sleeping outdoors when it's hot, in a lying chair (is that the name? I am just inventing I think). With all the sounds of the crickets - and when I am on holidays, the distant sea... :)

Another tip to relaxing (think I picked this up from yoga lol)
When you are lying down, bed, chair etc, imagine every part of your body starting to go heavy, just relax down, start with your toes, feet, legs, bum etc - feel the tension leave your body as it gets heavy, make your breathing slow and even, continue until your whole body is relaxed, clear your mind - stay like this as long as needs be or like me fall fast asleep lol
Now this is harder than it seems but after practise it gets easier and after you've done it you feel like you can walk on air lol :)

Edited to say:- I found this web site that gives meditation/relaxation exercises

sleeping out-doors!

that is excellent - unless you go camping with your parents and their snoring keeps you up all night.

I am on Aeclectic nearly everynight before I go to bad... I don't recommend that, even though I can't help it. I have had way too many very wierd dreams about Aeclectic when I have been on here are very tired... freaky!
(And yet for some reason I am always on here...:P)

Each weekend, I work until about 11pm Saturday night, then have to be in work for between 7 and 7:30am the next morning. I hate it, but when else am I gonna work?

Anyway, I usually find that a hot bath works well to get me sleepy, or 'energetic' moments with the boyf. })

I get this stuff from a friend of mine in San Francisco (I think there’s a corporate web site, I don’t know).

The company “Young Living”, sells essential oils. I use the “Peace and Calming”.

Some of you may be aware that I had reason for having sleep issues. This helped a lot.

Thanks everybody!!! Candles, window open, yes, it gets very hot in Arizona. Lights out? Sometimes that is hard. Have nightmares of something cold and cackling(laughing in the corner), that I can't see. Has not happened in awhile though. Gonna go play some cards....... Umbrae, gotta feeling you might be able to answer some questions about something else.
