Hi!

Spending another day waiting to be let out of the job I no longer have (long story, basically: company bancupt, acquired by sleazebag, I got new job elsewhere, sleazebag don't want to let me go...), bored OUT OF MY WITS!!

So, what can one do? Have already spent SEK 500 ($50, £35) on Tarot literature (ordered Robin Wood Tarot (the Book) and 78 Degrees of Wisdom - wish it was like ordering a pizza, and they'd ring the doorbell with the books within half an hour or so... :D), but... NOW WHAT??? Any ideas on what to do at work when you're (REALLY) bored???

Help me out here folks before I go NUTS...! Waahhhhrrghhhhhh...!

/Jenny :D

I think I've been reading and re-reading tons of posts - but no, it didn't cross my mind to make a summary - darn! Well, it seems I'll be hanging out over there tomorrow too, so if I get really desperate maybe...! :D

Links are good, thanks, will be checking out the spirituality ones as well - oh goody!

Light and love,
Jenny :)

Reading this thread has me thinking…
Now that I have a couple of folks “hooked” on daily and weekly readings…
Next week I do believe I shall look at them, bat my manly lashes and state…”You know, I sure could use a doppio from Starbucks right now…”

(insert evil laughter here)

When bored at work I make lists of things I would rather do, like going to nifty places in the big city, SoHo type areas, galleries to visit, unusual magazines to buy, creative type clothing and where to get them without great expense. I make lists of gift ideas for upcoming occasions, or menu ideas for guests, decorating ideas for a room in my place that needs a little extra umph!. I surf the net going to links I haven't tried connected to sites I already know. THAT'S HOW I FOUND THIS WONDERFUL SITE.
Namaste.

I work on a public desk, so I have to look busy even if I've run out of things to do. Make lists of what you'd do if you won the lottery. Write letters to your family (not e-mail). Write a short story. Go into Google, and research virtually anything. Go to some of the cooking sites, and find something to make for dinner, someday. E-mail back and forth with your friends or SO. Go into real estate sites and look for your dream house, or vacation house. Clean off the desk, including the drawers. I like your ideas Debins, I'll have to try some of them out myself. :D

Hi Jenny-Li,

It's evil but you've got to do it to have a laugh as long as you don't get found out.

I went through the same thing about a year ago and I was calling my boyfriend in france from London about 3 times a day + e-mailing, downloading stuff, booking my room for my hols. I was even tring to call the speaking clock in oz and the US but that didn't work as the Co. barred the No.s

I would stay on this forum and welcome all the new commers and help out, find as many tarot sites and pics (good ones) and e-mail them to me....ehhhh. download music, MP3 files, find out more about your hobbies etc.

The worst thing that I done was over the weekend I sent all the works a e-card telling them all about the person that I hated. I done it as an invite but she will know that it's me for sure but I don't care as I have left the Co. already but she was still getting to me, even in my relationships, so go to www.webshots.com and put there work address in and send it to everyone in the Co. That was evil but working at that Co. caused me to have a breakdown and I was going to HR and the Co. just didn't do sodd all. So my attitude was to F**K them before the do it to me as I was dieing slowly!!

I can think of some more later too.

I'm really an ANGEL but when I'm crossed I turn into a shedevil })

Oh Funky - you are scaring me! Far out!!! :D

I wish I had time to get bored at work - I don't stop!
I worked in a book shop part time when I was at Uni and sometimes I used to get stuck out in the Mall for the Xmas sales. It was SO boring!!! I would go two hours without speaking to one person, and alas, no computer and I wasn't allowed to read the books. (My evil boss used to spring me doing it and I would get told off...) I used to watch people walk by and imagine the internal dialogue going through their heads. Can be very amusing! Although getting sprung bursting into laughter by the boss can also involve some explaining... :P

G- thanks Kayne even though I know your half joking!

From those e-card that I sent out the other dat more than half was opened, so that's good enough for me but you've got to know when to stop and put it behind you as you don't want to turn into satans child like I did full of anger, don't let it eat you away just leave if you can.

The best thing that I done was I went off sick for a week knowing that I was going to get my full pay for the whole month then left.....I did call in or anything but the Co. was calling me all the time asking for the money back but I told them that Miss Funky had left the country. They was alway promissing a wage increase because of the work load. I done a really good job for one of the worlds most largest publishing Co. but towards the end I didn't care one bit as everyone was out for themselves. I even had good laughs at the xmas party's etc. but they was suck back stabbers!

Some Co. think that they have a right to treat you like sh*t but the Co. should invest and give something back to the staff other wise the staff will take the biscuit.

I used to work for a record Co. and the money was rubbish but I just took the job because I needed to and wanted to work. we had 100's of free CD's, tickets for gigs etc. + we could all trust eachother.

Did you have a look at Chat > when you don't like someone

OK - play pranks on people I don't like... That's definitely an idea...! I might go there next week, because at the turn of things this afternoon, I ain't getting out of there this week either.

Kayne: I wish I worked in a bookstore, then I'd be doing your thing all day long! I usually do that in the subway, at least when I haven't got my nose deep down in a book...! (Today it was my print-out of Joan Bunning's online course - really interesting!)

But now it's a national holiday, and I can do whatever I like for days, and not be one bit bored! Hoorrayyy!

Jenny :)
