sticking with the current movie theme, what book/series would YOU like to see made into a movie? (Let's assume, of course, that by some great hiccup of fate the directors do a really good job ;))
I'd like to see something by Terry Pratchett. probably the Interesting Times /Last Continent pair of books. (Anything with Rincewind and the Bursar in it. lol, my two favourite characters of his.)

I'm still waiting for the Alienist.
But I'd also like to see a book I recently read made into a movie,
"My Life With The Spirits", by Lon Milo DuQuette- it's hilarious in many ways.
I'm pretty sure the David Sedaris book "Me Talk Pretty One Day" is being made into a movie, so I can't wait to see that. I gave copies of his "Holidays On Ice" as Xmas gifts one year, and received deafening silence in return. A telling symptom.

I've read the entire Stephanie Plum series (by author Janet Evanovich) - she's a female bondswoman/crime solver. These books are hysterically funny and I wish they'd make them into movies.
Also, I hope they make movies for all of the Harry Potter books (and that J.K. Rowling would hurry up and finish book 5!)

I agree with "The Alienist", that would make a fine movie!
And I love Carol O'Connell's books. I would like to see "Mallory's Oracle" made into a movie. Enthralling read.

Good Omens, that would be great
Also a good Chronicles of Narnia series of movies
And they will be making movies for all the Harry Potter books, including the yet to be written ones, they have a contract for them all. Number 2 is coming out November 15. They are thinking of splitting book 4 into 2 movies coming out November and December of the same year because its so long and cant be cut shorter.
And book 5 isnt out because she has writers block, they are hoping they can release it with the movie but they arent promising anything

I agree with the Harry Potter series and thanks for the update!
I'm curious what books any have read that were made into movies you feel were done justice.
I think Shawshank Redemption and Bridges of Madison County are my two favorites.

Definitely Harry Potter - love the books, love the movie. Gone With The Wind, The Maltese Falcon, hmmm... I'll have to ponder this some more.

I'd like to see The Secret History by Donna Tartt filmed. But it would have to be a looooong movie to cover the whole story.
