All this past life spread posting has lead to interesting private discussion about living in other times, which I thought might be expanded to a thread.
What periods in history , geographical locations, or prior cultures are you drawn to or repelled by?

I like the ancient Egyptians, but I am also very interested, and feel spiritually drawn to the Celtic and Norse. I would dare say, I even feel stronger drawn to the latter ones then Egypt.
When I was a kid, I was fascinated by the Egyptian legends, but nowadays, although they still fascinate me, I feel a stronger link to the Celtic/Norse for some reason. I feel more "home" here. Perhaps this is simply due to me being German, I don't know.

I'm Norse/Celtic as well. Even though trying to read through their mythology is very confusing!
I also like Egyptian and Greco-Roman.
I think I may have burned as a witch in a past life because I have this uncontrollable and totally unfounded fear of the Catholic Church. LOL

I don't know much about my past lives yet but I am very drawn to Ireland.
I also love the clothing that was worn in the Medieval, Vicotrian and Renissance era as well as gothic clothing(which is influenced by the above eras).
Where unexplained fears and obsessions are concerned: I have big fears of spirits/ghosts, the dark and loud noises, and I have a huge love for mermaids (I also believe they exist somewhere).
Like I said though, I don't know much about my past lives yet but I do believe all these things are linked to them. :) I suppose only time will tell for me.

I like the Victorian era, love those old period films, if I was offered a chance to live another life then I would have chosen 18 Century - the only thing I didn't like about that time was that woman were treated inferior lol (but then the suffragettes came along :) )
I would love to learn about my past lives one day, I've been told before that I have an old soul - I'd like to learn a little more about it because when I was little I knew things I shouldn't have and that knowledge could only have come from former lives.

San Diego, around 1890. Marlin and albacore tuna could be caught with handlines just offshore. There were only a dozen lawyers in town, and the world was a more civilized place.

Since you love mermaids & the Victorian era, I recommend you check out J.W. Waterhouse's Mermaid from 1901, if you haven't already done so. I have a poster of it, and it is a beautifully spiritual work of art.

I have been drawn to several times/eras.
* Egyptian life - way back when (I was told by a psychic i was sort of a slave way back in the early era. And a tarot reader said I was a priest of Horus at another life) I've always been interested in hieroglyphs, archaeology, egyptology, and the gods of Egypt.
* Medieval era - its gotta be the clothes. Flowy, dramatic, bejeweld. I know if I went back in time i'd spend all day barfing cause no one took showers and they walked around in horse poop, but I probably lived back then and didn't think twice about it!
* Celtic - This has always had a quiet influence on me that continues to get louder as I become older and find my true spiritual path. I have to go along with Rhiannon and say I know I was killed as a witch, but I believe I was dunked. I forget the technical term, but they tie you into a chair and toss you in. It may have been from this era, I don't know. I do know this belief style seems the most true to who I am.
* 1930's. - why I love gangsters, I don't know. I hate gang violence now, and people shooting each other up, but if it has to do with mobsters in the 30's I love 'em. Haven't figured this one out yet!
* Jack the Ripper - Sorry. 1880's. Don't know yet why I am fascinated with him, but have been since jr. high.

I am drawn to anything Australian, and usually by "accident" hence Aeclectic Tarot. 3 of my favorite movies are australian. the Ice age, and the future on another planet...with dragons...

I was always drawn to Ireland and Australia. Then a few years ago a psychic told me I had been a nun in Ireland, teaching children and having a secret love affair on the side. :D
She didn't say anything about Australia, but maybe I was deported there because of the love affair?? ;)
I'm also drawn to London/England in Dickensian times.

and have been since I was a little girl. I love silk sarees, spices, Moghul architecture, sandalwood, incense, written Indian languages (calligraphy) and handsome Indian gentlemen! As a little girl, I used to wind myself in lengths of cloth, even before I even knew what a saree was. Interesting! Past life, anyone?

In my case, I wouldn't call it fear - more anger and a bit grudge... :)
(Not against Catholics in general, but against the Catholic Church!)

I really have this thing for Ancient Atlantis and Lemuria , and read a lot about it.
I also have this fascination with arab countries like saudi arabia, past and present, and persia.
Most history of the past couple of thousands of years bores me. Especially stuff like American History class, and wars. But I do try to find historical things that interest me because I feel I should learn and know as much as I can about the world and many of it's cultures, past and present.
I want to go to Alaska too Jade! ( But I think you are geographically closer!). Russia interests me. The orient is semi-interesting. I Love the king arthur legends.
