I ws just out picking my raspberries tonight, and I wondered what AT members favorite fruits are. Mine are raspberries(obviously), peaches, and cherries. What are yours??

Berries. Pretty much any kind. Blue, red, black, goose, Saskatchewan, ras.....I include cheeries in this group, because they rhyme with berries...:)

It would be easier for me to say what I did not like as far as fruit goes, and I can't think of any. except, I do not like cherries cooked or frozen, only fresh. I'm allergic to most types of fruit, except bananas and grapes, and the more exotic types of fruit, such as melon, mango and papaya. As the latter are usually extremely expensive over here, I'll just have to stick to the bananas and grapes... Oh, and I hate strawberries! I'm not allergic to them, but I used to have a summer job picking strawberries when I was a teenager, and that has put me off strawberries for the rest of my life! The smell... yuck! ;) I don't even eat strawberry jam or strawberry yoghurt...

Melon and strawberries, especially the tiny alpine ones. I also love cloudberries - had them on a trip to Finland many years ago. They make a liqueur out of them, a pale sunset-coloured liquid that tastes a little like honey, grapes and raisins, but mostly of summer. Mmmm! Jilly

i love fresh strawberries but give me anything with that yucky artificial stuff and i pick it up a mkile away. i really detest strawberry ice-cream cause it has fake stuff in it. as for fresh fruit - i love raspberries and alpine strawberries the most. oh and nothing beats a nice sized slice of melon a hot summers day. as for jam - cloudberry jam is the greatest!

Passion Fruit!!! :D i am allergic to many fleshy fruits but love the taste (banana, mango, peach etc... so sad :() I usually eat them anyway and deal with the consequences later... :P

I like oranges. Not the sliceed ones but the peeled ones. I love to peel them like an tangerin and eat them petal by petal. And if I am agressive that day, I will take a big bite right in the middle of the juicy part!

I'm a big orange fan. Someone told me that if you drink orange juice or eat oranges, the citric acid helps burn up the fat you consume. So this also works with lemons and grapefruit. I also like white and red grapes.

Not one person has mentioned the Grapefruit as their favorite fruit! I LOVE Grapefruits! I can't get enough of them! This Love of grapefruits gets more intense as time goes on! My dad used to eat a grapefruit every single day! I wonder if this sort-of thing is genetic?

I love all fruit - yum! I especially love the tiny red mountain huckleberries, tart and refreshing. Among my other favorites, Braeburn apples, satsuma oranges, rainier cherries, regular cherries, blueberries, cantelope, watermelon, mango, plums, peaches, nectarines....okay, all of 'em. I also love to try unusual fruits when I find them in stores. Has anyone ever tried a durian? I doubt I'll get to ever try one, unless I someday travel to Southeast Asia. Oh, and lemons! And I agree about the limes purplelady.

for me they would be peaches (a rarity here so i normally buy them canned) and bananas - thee we have plenty, and come in different varieties, from the big lakatan which tastes sweetly reserved to the small but very sweet seniorita types. :)

starting with watermelon, mangos, papaya, grapes, cherries, navel oranges, raspberries, rockmelon and honeydew (some Australian melons - I lived there for 12 years, and the thing I loved most about it was the Nature and all the exotic fruits!!) I also love the plain old apples, bananas and pears, mandarins and strawberries ( any berries for that matter) to sum it all up, I haven't come accross a fruit yet that I dislike.... ok so I'm a fruitaholic.....but isn't there a saying to taste the "fruits of life" or something like that?....Mara

Bananas are my favorite, also love yellow watermelon, white flesh and saturn peaches, plums, and white grapes I alaos like to try anything strange, like Santa Claus melons. They are pretty good :) And Kim Chee is one of the most digusting things Ive ever tasted in my life :THP

Phoenix, luckily this is not a Top 3/5/number Fruit!!! *LOL* Now I am biased, but WATERMELON ROCKS!!! They would not be summer days without it. And I actually IGNORE all the different english names, but here in NAPLES 4 kinds at least are produced: - the classic (light green striped peel, red inside with black nuts - I can call them nuts, can't I? :confused: ). In Italian it is "anguria". - the "yellow" I gather from Liliana's post. Yellowish with nuts and film in the middle, so easy to clean before eating :D. Harder wrinkled peel. - the "orange" (similar to the previous, but generally sweeter). - the "BREAD" Melon. Yup, we call it Bread Melon. it is green inside, seems not rape, but when you taste it... IT IS BLISS!!! ALL HAIL THE WATERMELON!!!!!!!!! Pollux, President of Watermelon Fans International
