DH and I are watching a television program called "Monk" (w/Tony Shaloub in the title role as an obsessive/compulsive detective) and his assistant goes to a psychic and she also did a Tarot reading! :) The cards were the Tower :TTOW, the Chariot :TCHAR and the Knight of Pentacles :TKNP (there was another that I couldn't see). It was very cool to see it on a show! I didn't recognize the deck - it looked old and French, like the Marseilles, except the writing was in english.
Did anyone else watch it? It's re-airing this evening at midnight e.s.t.
Here's the website Monk series if you're interested.

Cool... Did the reading have anything to do with what happened in the show? Did it reveal anything that related to the plot (I mean since its a detective show)?

I saw it too. She predicted the female querent (Monk's sidekick) would meet a guy with a british accent. I personally couldn't see it in the cards she drew.

Me either - other than if the Knight of Pentacles was supposed to be him. But then again, she was supposed to be a fraud ;)
Now, Divinerguy, was I right about the deck being a Marseilles style?
Did you also notice she mentioned (since the Chariot was one of the cards :TCHAR) that the querent liked to move around a lot (or something to that effect)?

any of you seen the movie "The Red Violin"? It also has Tarot in it, and the deck looked ancient and Spanish.

If it wasn't a Marseilles, it was something pretty close. It struck as being slightly less cluttered than the Tarot of Marseilles. however, that could've been just a minor card variation.
