Hey everyone. Yesterday, my parents said that i good get the sims and an expansion pack for my b-day. i'm so excited! i love this game! (i've played it at various places) it is soooooooo fun! hooray!

VGimlet  07 Jul 2002
The first day I got the Sims I played it until 3 am. On a work night.

Been nice knowing you Sam, I'm sure you'll be back in a month or so LOL.

Kazz  08 Jul 2002
Alrighty!!! this will probably sound dumb, but what are Sims????

La La  08 Jul 2002
Kazz,
I take it you don't have young kids....
Correct me if I'm wrong (anyone?) I beleive (and this is my vicarious experience) SIMS are a computer game for kids about characters and families (SIMulated lives)
I think its for learning about relationships and communities but I've never actually played with the program.

destinyawaitsme  08 Jul 2002
Yeah I used to play the Sims all the time.

The Sims is like simulated life. You get to make families. Choose what they look like, how many kids (if any). Get a job, build a house, decorate it. There is no win...so you can play with your fake families forever. You can also meet the neighbors, make friends with them...have a love affair if you want. It's a really cool game.

My litter sister LOVES the Sims. You can make couples (same sex or different sex), or roomates, or complete families and pick your house and buy what you need in the house (all with a certain budget of course). Buying an alarm system is a good idea, because I got robbed in the middle of the night a few times in this game! lol. Also, missed my ride to work LOTS of times and got fired. You have to make sure you do fun things for yourself and your partner in the game to keep up your happiness score and all, or your character will start getting depressed or your spouse. Oh my, I am going on and on about this game... its a good and fun and "busy" game!!! Be careful though, one might waste their life away playing it, its very addicting!!.

Oh yes, come to think of it now, i have seen this in the computer stores but i never took any notice.
And my children are too young for that at the moment 4 & 1yrs, so i am not even thinking of those sorts of things.
well i am glad i haven't gotten too OLD yet!!!lol

Thanks guys.

Cheers

I had this game and it is good fun.

I gave it away in the end and haven't looked back since. })

I recently installed The sims vacation.

jade  08 Jul 2002
i've never played this game but my daughter's friends do and they love it.

in light,
jade

ps is it just for kids or for 'kids of all ages'?

Sorceress_Jade  08 Jul 2002
You want the money cheat code?! You can have the biggest plot of land and you ppl don't have to work so you can have parties all the time!

Which extension pack are you getting? I have living large and house party both. Not sure which I like best. I want to get the hot date one, that sounds so cool. Living large give you the possibility of roaches tho.

Did you know there are ghosts? My room mate had a couple one time where the man beat his wife! We couldn't believe the programers made that possible it was insane.

I think my favorite part about the game is decorating. f you get the right tools from the internet you can make your own wallpaper and things, and you can create new clothes and faces for ppl, but that looked really hard.

Wow, that was all very scattered, sorry, lol

Kiama  08 Jul 2002
My boyf bought the Sims... Then Sims Living It Up... Then Sims House Party.... Then Sims Hot Date... And now we're both addicted.

Jade, yes, this is a game for kids of all ages... I'm addicted.

meatbox666  09 Jul 2002
LOL, I love making the potions on the sims and then drinking them. My girl Turned into a Frakenstein and ruined every appliance in the house. And Ghost do exist on the Simms. I created a family of 7 and one girl got burned up using the rocket launcher. LOL, The Grim reaper came, and the rest of the family tried to plead for her life but,......was unsucessful. lol, But one time it was successful and my girl turned into a zombie, her skin was green.

VGimlet  10 Jul 2002
Heh heh, it's such an insidious game. I've been playing since it came out, and have all the expansion packs. Plus hundreds of downloaded items.
And I am old. :D
I have different neighborhoods with themes (medieval, L.A., hippie, army housing...)
The fun part is, you can totally customize the game, cheat or not cheat if you choose. Some people I know only like to build elaborate houses. I think I even have a tarot table I downloaded from somewhere.....

wouldn't it be funny if it was called "the Sim Reaper"? lol!

I have the sims and every expansion pack. And yes Jade, I think it is for kids of all ages. But instead of playing the game, I discovered 90 million online sites to download MORE walls, houses, clothes, furniture, stuff, junk, and garbage FOR my sims! I have the most materialistic sims around, and a very large selection of items for them to buy and clothing for them to chose from :) . So if I'm ever broke and can't go shopping, I can just shop for my sims, they Never run out of money ;) . I did create a huge downtown swimming pool for them to go swimming in. And I have transported into my game some of the most beautiful , elaborate mansions possible!
I like to try and catch the ghosts on camera at night when they come out. (Every family has their own photo album and camera . You can take photos anytime and save them to the sims family photo album to veiw anytime) .
