Hornbeam tree.... but that doesn't sound much like me. :P

RedWood  30 Jul 2002
Fig Tree---pretty much sounds like me!

Sorceress_Jade  30 Jul 2002
I'm hornbeam to, and I think that I have some of the attributes and the others are growing. It's more like what I'll become. This is so cute Jade, I love it.

Kaz  30 Jul 2002

suzyspellbound  30 Jul 2002

Sam  30 Jul 2002
Poplar tree............not me at all

wavebreaker  30 Jul 2002
I'm a pine tree, only part of it is true... Besides, I hate pine trees... ;)

Just for the fun of it: I checked which tree I would have been if I had been born on the date I was due (I was born 3 weeks early) and that's the weeping willow. That one fits me a lot better. Besides, I love weeping willows...

This feels more right, this is when I "should have been" born, two weeks before my actual birthday. Or is it just me finding one of them more pleasant than the other...? ;)

Jenny :)

Kiama  30 Jul 2002
Hi Jade: I think there are quite a few diffeent systems out there... It would be interesting to find out how many. Does anybody else know of any other than one where Holly is the 17th of July, and the one Jade has here?

BTW: Silly me, looked at JUNE instead of July. I'm an ELM which is even more unlike me! LOL

Although my boyf, who's a Fig, was pretty much nailed down to a tee in this one!

amyel  30 Jul 2002
I'm an apple tree, but I don't think it sounds like me much.

Kyrie Blue  30 Jul 2002
According to that I am the Cypress tree....I don't think it fits me very well...hmmm

divinerguy  30 Jul 2002
I'm a cedar. Both of us tend to be aromatic at times.

zorya  30 Jul 2002
rowan

i found some good info and pictures;

http://www.treesforlife.org.uk/tfl.rowan.html

oh, rowan tree
Carolina Oliphant, (Lady Nairne), 1766-1845

Oh! rowan tree, oh! rowan tree,
Thou'lt aye be dear to me,
En twin'd thou art wi' mony ties
O' hame and infancy.
Thy leaves were aye the first o' spring,
Thy flow'rs the simmer's pride;
There was na sic a bonnie tree
In a' the countrie side.
Oh! rowan tree.
2. How fair wert thou in simmer time,
Wi' a' thy clusters white,
How rich and gay thy autumn dress,
Wi' berries red and bright.
On thy fair stem were mony names,
Which now nae mair I see;
But thy're engraven on my heart,
Forgot they ne'er can be.
Oh! rowan tree.

mooncat2  30 Jul 2002
Weeping Willow - and thats pretty accurate.

napaisti  31 Jul 2002
Another weeping willow. I guess that fits fairly well.

And the great thing is that my best friend (and next door neighbor) recently planted one in her front yard. She has another that we may give to my great aunt; my yard is full of trees already thanks to my dad.

Laurel  31 Jul 2002
Fir Tree- some of it is dead on, some of it fits the person I used to be.

Laurel

Rhiannon  31 Jul 2002
HORNBEAM TREE (Good Taste) - of cool beauty, cares for its looks and condition, good taste, is not egoistic, makes life as comfortable as possible, leads a reasonable and disciplined life, looks for kindness and acknowledgment in an emotional partner, dreams of unusual lovers, is seldom happy with its feelings, mistrusts most people, is never sure of its decisions, very conscientious.

That is SO me! LOL too funny! Thanks Jade!

R :)

raeanne  31 Jul 2002
I am a Fig Tree. Cool! Wait a minute! I hate figs! Oh well, the description sounds like me.

Diana  31 Jul 2002
I'm a Jacaranda tree.

(yes, I know it's not on the list! :) )

Starfish  31 Jul 2002
Rowan tree here too. Also known as Mountain Ash. My Mother (who was Greek) referred to it as the Witch's Tree. She said it was special to Healers, both in protection and the use of it's berries in healing properties (there's a wonderful greek myth about this tree - which is a member of the rose family, if memory serves me right). I'm thrilled to be this tree and it's spot on for me too!

:THIER Starfish

lunar_rabbit  31 Jul 2002
Says I'm a Cedar, but I don't think it sounds like me much at all.

> CEDAR TREE (Confidence) - of rare beauty, knows how to adapt, likes luxury, of good health, not in the least shy, tends to look down on others, self-confident, determined, impatient, likes to impress others, many talents, industrious, healthy optimism, waiting for the one true love, able to make quick decisions. >

Except for the "of rare beauty" part. ;-)

kayne  01 Aug 2002
Hmmm... nasty old Pine Tree here. I don't think it is me at all...

catlin  01 Aug 2002
Hm, the Weeping Willow does not sound like me.

lunalafey  01 Aug 2002
Gosh, I thought I had to think of a tree not find the one that fits my B-day or I would have been here sooner. Technically I'm an Apple (12/31) but I was only 1 hour and 13 minutes from Jan. 1st and GMT it was the FIRst, a fir. Apple nails it except for the flirting part. Fir is close too except for the moody, egoism, many foes part. There are those who do not like me because of intimidation in their own mind and/or jealousy, but never a foe due to disrespect on my part.
So I guess Apple rules.
A tree I picked aside from this a Madrone. But I'd rather be a Manzinita bush (which can grow to be small tree sized) a poltice made from the leaves of a manzinita cures poison oak. I don't ever get poison oak, even if I rolled in it.

This is what Im supposed to be, half right maybe, their is others on the list I feel closer to. I was born early, but I dont know how much, depending theres 3 others I could be, beech, apple, or fir.

I think Im best described as a combination of some of the traits of all 4 lol

My husband is cedar

Almost 100% here, a couple things are off but he fits better

And my daughters are also fig and cedar :)

> demanding, does not care for criticism, ambitious, intelligent, talented,
> likes to play with fate, can be egotistic, very reliable and trustworthy,
> faithful and prudent lover, sometimes brains rule over the heart, but

Not sure if i concur with the above assessment, but some of it is spot on!! Am august 9th (birthday next week! Yippeeeeeeee! :D

LeoLady  03 Aug 2002
If I were to pick a tree, I'd pick the bonsai (although I know it's the art of tree growing) I love the way it forms a beautiful shape and is nurtured by someone who cares enough to spend time and patience on it. Although patient is something I'm NOT!! :D

mara  03 Aug 2002
funny how life is isn't it.... I have never really lived among cedar trees (or any evergreen for that matter). I was born in the Netherlands and there were no Cedars anywhere to be found in my city of birth, then I moved to Australia and lived there for 12 years (in the tropics it was hard to find cedars).....but the thing is I've always felt a strong connection with cedars and all kinds of evergreens. everytime I come accross some I literally have to stop and touch (hug) them.......now I know why!!!! Most of the things it describes makes sense to me but not all of it I relate to, but hey that's with everything else I've come accross, astrology, numerology etc.....Mara

Kismet  03 Aug 2002
I'm a chestnut tree.
And it is an amazingly accurate description of me.

Strega  05 Aug 2002
Ooooooh! I'm a HAZELNUT TREE! Extraordinary? :*

HAZELNUT TREE (Extraordinary) - charming, undemanding, very understanding, knows how to make an impression, active fighter for social cause, popular, moody, and capricious lover, honest, and tolerant partner, precise sense of judgment.
