(Ok. It's the only positive question I could think of to balance all the negativity in the forum right now.) But anyways, where would you like to go on your next vavcation? I, personally Would like to go on a cruise to the bahamas. (Even though I am going to mexico in august) I still really like cruises.
What about you?

I'm going to Scotland. Because I know some wonderful people there; because life seems to be less hectic there; because there's so much space and so much nature around.
If they improved the quality of food I would not even go back ever!

Another vote for the Bahamas.... I need some warm sunshine, clear blue (warm - unlike the Great Lakes I am surrounded by ;)) water and a tropical icy mixed drink in my hand... Along with some reggae and steel drums... blissssss

Due to staffing problems at work, I'm not going to be able to take the little vacation I had been planning. I live fairly close to Mount Shasta and it happened to work out(at the time)that I would be there for the Full Moon/Vernal Equinox.
Can you imagine the ENERGY. Mt. Shasta is supposed to be quite charged. It could still happen but I'm not counting on it, whaaa....
I'm with laurel, I'd like to travel all over, starting in Australia then to Japan and the Phillipeans.

THAILAND is always at the top of my list!
And they didn't have elephant safaris into the jungle to find a lagoon to bathe in where I was the last time, so I want to go where they do! I've heard about those things and it sounds so wonderful!

Great choice, Oriel !
I went to New Zealand when I had saved up and did not have to work for a while(it's 24 hours flying from where I live so you have to make the best of it :D) and traveled all from north to south.
So much nature, it makes you go quiet (well almost ;))

I just booked a trip for the end of this year which may make one of my biggest dreams come true: I'll be going to South Africa and Mozambique and included are two days of cage diving with great white sharks!! I've always wanted to do that, but usually it's incredibly expensive; I was absolutely amazed when I found out that this trip was within my budget!! :)
There's no guarantee that we will actually see them of course, because, contrary to popular belief, great whites are very hard to find. But there are enough other exciting things to see on this trips: other shark species, seals, rays, turtles, maybe even manta rays and whale sharks. And we'll be visiting some reserves on land as well, where we could see elephants, giraffes, zebras, rhinos, hippos, maybe even lions!
I'm sooooo excited!!! :D :D :D :D

You're always welcome, Liliana! Any time any of you want to come and tour our nation's capital (meaning U.S.) just PM me and I'll arrange for a sitter! I'd love to go see the museums and stuff again anyway. I hear they have just set up a new exhibit on "Spy Stuff". COOL! I'm also pretty close to Luray Caverns and I haven't been there in years!
The only real vacation I've ever been on was on my honeymoon to the Poconos. I'd love to go back there someday.
I have traveled abroad a bit, my father was in the military. I'd love to go back to Berlin, Germany and see what it's like without the Wall.
Right now, my fave place to go would have to be England, Ireland or Scotland. All of the above! Why not?

Africa. Specifically, eastern Africa. I've always been drawn there and have never gone.
I sometimes think I'll never get there when I'm young, and then I take inspiration from my step-mum, who planned and took a round the world trip when she was about 70. She took her brother (one of a twin) who had only been overseas in WW2, and his wife, who had *never* been outside of Australia before in her life! I met then in London (my first visit there) and what a great way to explore it - my step-mum had lived there for maybe 5 years in the '50's, and she had a great time taking me to places that were special to her then. Anyway, the final leg of their trip was to Africa.
What an experience to have. She died a couple of years later, but she did the trip she always wanted to do, and that's an inspiration to me.

:THP Well, Liliana, I'm in Ottawa, Canada's capital, and it only about 4.5 hours NE of Toronto! Although not nearly as big as T.O. (which is part of the reason I like it), it is very nice. You could do a little "tour" Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal. If you *really* want to get adventerous, you could go on to Quebec City (about 3 - 5 hours further east from Montreal). Old Quebec - like old Montreal - is very French in flavour. Sometimes, hubs & I get all nostaligic about Paris and we take off for Montreal or Quebec City instead. Jade is in western Canada - and I used to live in Calgary for 15 years, so I am familar with her part of the world....it is really beautiful - very different from the cityscapes and population we find in my neck of the woods.....

There are a bunch of places I'd love to go. Ireland, Scotland, England, France, I'd love to go to Italy again. I've also been wanting to see the western part of the US. I've seen much of the east coast but never the west coast and rocky mountain area, I think it would be wonderful to see. My sister and I are actually tossing around the idea of going to New Orleans. She was thinking of doing it during the Christmas break from school (she's a teacher). Another place I'd love to go even if it's just for a day trip, and I've been there a bunch of times but haven't been in the last six months, is New York City.

Hi kayne,
I live very near London, in Epsom, so you never know, we may meet up some time :)
Btw, I've just looked at your really cool website. I /love/ your major arcana cards. Not quite sure that I understand why death is a hairdresser though? (or is that another thread?)
All the best,

Oh, I forgot to say, I'm hoping for a holiday in the next week or two. But we haven't booked yet. I want somewhere warm, sunny and not rainy.
My sons want somewhere cool.
My husband wants somewhere exciting.
At this rate, I'm not sure where we'll end up, but I'll let you all know :)

FairyHedgehog and Jenny-Li, I hope I will be in a postion to take both of you up on that offer!!! :D
And Redwood - I am NOT a fan of The Crocodile Hunter OR Crocodile Dundee! :P (Australians rarely actually speak like that...) I do, however, love Thai Chilli Crocodile on a bed of Jasmine rice... But only at the most expensive restaurants. :D:D:D

Kayne: don't forget Amsterdam! City of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll!! :D (it's not that bad though... ;) ).
Crocodile Hunter is ok, but I prefer Shark Gordon, do you know him? He's done some great documentaries on sharks, nothing sensational, but just showing the facts (i.e. sharks aren't ruthless murder machines). They were shown here in Discovery Channel.

Everywhere!!
I'd love to go back to Europe and spend about 6 months touring all over the place, from Moscow to Athens, from London to Budapest! I'd love to visit my family too. Then I'd head off to Egypt and brave the Middle East, Turkey and the Black Sea. I'd love to see the Great Wall, the Taj Mahal, the wild plains of Africa.....
Ahhh, dreams are free....
Cheers

On the deck of a fishing boat, working its way down the Mexican west coast. Getting sunburned and having a body full of aches and pains. Fish hooks in my hands, and line burns in my fingers.
Salt encrusted clothes, chafing tender body parts. Really bad galley food. Narrow bunks with skinny mattresses. Surly deckhands and grumpy captains.
All of that for the one moment when you get a fish so big that you need both hands, a belt harness and two hours to bring it in.
When you get back, the frozen tuna are dropped on the sidewalk. They are so heavy that you feel the impact of every offloaded fish, as their weight shakes the concrete.

I dream of traveling to Ireland and visiting some of the castles and ruins there. I would also love to do a tour of Europe and visit Stonehenge and some of the other standing stone circles.
It is something I long for and sometimes the thought of it keeps me going on those long days at work when I crave a vacation.
Mmmmm..vacations..I remember them. Its been a long time...

I have never been out of north america, and there's probubly a lot of places I'd visit at least once if I could. I think I would begin with a trip to europe. Tour France for sure, and see the Louvre and many other sites. Italy and go to Alida tarot store! I could even visit Pollux! ;) .England and Ireland.

Purplelady, I've been to the Louvre, and I personally wasn't impressed at all. Too much hype I suppose. If you do go to Paris, at least see Musee D'Orsay. That is an amazing museum!
Italy is an amazing country!! If you ever get a chance to see it, go to Florence(Firenze). Plan on spending a week there! I was only there for three days, and loved every minute of it! I just wish that I was able to spend more time there.
If I ever get back to Italy(and I will....someday) I will spend more time in Florence, and see Naples, Verona, and Milan.

is to go and see Machu Picchu, but if I ever will is another question.
Canada is a place I've always felt really connected even though I've never been there (not in this lifetime anyway :)). I've always wanted to go there one day, and I know I will sooner or later.
Other places I would love to visit are Giza (I love ancient Egypt and everything about it), Stonehenge, South of France and I remember that when I was little I always wanted to rollerskate along the Great Wall of China......
