Anyone here have MS?

ok, i know it's kind of a personal question, but does anyone here have MS?

i was in a car accident (ok, 2) about 1 1/2 years ago. Put out 2 of my discs, and since then have numbness, pain, weakness in my left arm and leg. my chiropractor thinks it will improve w/adjustments and massage.

my doctor said it could be MS. we did an MRI, which was negative, but she still says it could be MS.

i guess i just wondered how people deal with this condition, is there anything that improves it, how can i tell if i develop it,
blah blah blah

becoming vegan assists it greatly. it slows the symptoms and the progression of the dis-ease.

read 'diet for a new america' (i think that's what it's called)

my grandmother had it. and i send you hugs.

love

The workup for MS also may include blood tests and a spinal tap. My sister-in-law has MS which was in remission for about 30 years. She lifts weights and works out which may have contributed to the length of time between symptoms.

Sometimes the symptoms come and go and that makes the diagnosis difficult.

First of all, a big big understanding hug to you.

I suggest believing what the MRI said. I was also suspected of having MS some years back when I had very very scary symptoms, and the MRI was negative. They found stuff in the spinal chord, but not in the brain.

They still wrote "MS" in my medical report, because most doctors can't bear to say "we haven't a clue what this person has got", and put the nearest possible guess they can in the files. Doctors are taught never to tell their patients that they are not omniscient.

If you really have MS, a strict diet can help wonders and sometimes reverses the symptoms completely (but you have to follow this diet for the rest of your life), as well as very very high doses of Vitamin C (injections). Also, no nicotine.

Before jumping to conclusions and getting all scared, can you not find a really good and trusty healer that is completely outside of the medical field, who could help you heal this? You could work on your chakras, on the trauma that your body still remembers on the car accident (our cells remember things and sometimes need deprogramming), stuff like that.

The fear of MS can make the symptoms worse. Don't accept it as a part of yourself and get some proper help. Most (but not all! please don't get me wrong) doctors are just donkeys in white overcoats.

I saw a woman on tv once who used bees (the bees' poison, to be precise) to treat her MS. She was paralyzed before, but with this therapy she was able to walk and swim again. I saw this some years ago, but I still remember it because I was so impressed by this miraculous healing. She had an internet site, something with "bee-woman"... Obviously, this won't work if you're allergic to bee poison.

I'm sorry Napaea, I know nothing about MS but I thought you might like a hug from me anyway.

Thinking of you.

ooooooo, kayne :*
actually, i don't know if i have it.

im with diana, i'm going to believe that i don't have it and try to do energy work. they gave me this tentative diagnosis about a year ago, and i am about the same as then.

i'm reading a great book, "your body believes every word you say", so i'm going to tell it that it is healthy!!

i wish i knew some healer people (hopefully in seattle i'll meet some) cause that is exactly what i want. i agree, most doctors are donkeys! :D

but yeah, kayne, i'll take a hug from you any day!!!!!!!!

One of my new friends, a wonderful young woman named Candice has MS. We'd known each other online for six months before we met in person. I'd been bitching and moaning all week about my Fibromalygia and the pain and the exhaustion.... and then she walked in, this beautiful little scarecrow of a woman who looks like she could be snapped in two in a hard wind........ and I had a sudden reality check.

MS is a terrible illness. Not that Fibromalygia is any fun. But she described it as "feeling like my body is eating itself instead of food" and my heart went out to her completely. I stopped my moaning about the aches and pains and appreciated my situation a lot more.

Chances are that you probably DON"T have MS. I had some medical weirdness a few years ago, and the Donkey, ( Oops, I mean Doctor,) told me and my mom that he suspected Lupis. Naturally, I was totally freaked out, and was all scared for a while. It turns out I had a rash from fungus in my bathroom. Panic for nothing. But I swear, they always try to tell you the worst thing possible so you go through all the tests anyway. I have some friends who are Dr's (They're cool ones, though). I asked them about it and they said "It's done like this so as to prevent malpractice suits". This is true. So they would much rather freak out some poor patient by telling them worst case scenario, instead of saying "Oh, you're fine" and have it turn out to be the most horrible case of the Creeping Wazoo anyone's ever seen. And get sued up the bung in the process.

For some reason, the same post got posted twice, and it wouldn't let me delete the duplicate, so I nurfed the content of the second one, and you get more hugs!

oooooo i love hugs!!!!!
thanks!!!!
yeah, one symptom i have is problems with my eyes. before they suspected the MS they suspected a brain tumor! one day one of my pupils just shot open like a bullet hit my eye and the other was normal. i looked like an X-FILE creature!!!! so here i was worrying that i had a brain tumor, went through the MRI etc, and it turns out it was Migraines!!!!

sheesh!

but thanks for the lovin! i really suspect it's just my muscles from the accident. my therapist worked on my leg and arm really hard today, and i am so crunched up and tight in there, it's no wonder i'm going limp and weak!!!!
