What's your favorite dessert? How often do you eat it?
I'll have to say... blueberry (or strawberry) cheesecake for me. I make sure I get a slice or two every weekend. :D

Anything chocolate!! mmmmmm yummy to my tummy!!
Back in Austin, Tx there was this 24 hour restaurant called Katz's. They had the BEST death by chocolate cake in the whole entire world (my world anyway lol). Man I miss that cake. Dark chocolate cake, with thick chocolate mouse, and thick white chocolate mouse layers, with lots of other chocolate goodies too. mmmmmm

Well, my Mum makes this absolutely gorgeous Mousse... She gets loadsa fresh strawberries, mashes them up, puts some double cream in there, some gelling agent and some other stuff I thik, and hey presto, after leaving it to set, we have the most delicious dessert ever! She doesn't make it often though, so it's a;ways a bit of a treat for when we hve family over for dinner.
I'm gonna have to get the recipe off her when I move out!

Mousse au chocolat, I think you can bribe me with that (hey, don't believe you can get one of my rare taroholic collector' decks for a dish of Mousse! This won't work!).

Hmm, if I can pick two this is an easy one:
Everything chocolate,
everything ice cream...
If I have to choose between them, it gets trickier....!!

Grandma's blueberry pie.
or, that failing to be around, amaretto cheesecake. (Though I hardly ever make it. it has to bake for like, 3 hours.)

Mine is carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. I only let myself have it once in a great while, like on a holiday or other celebration, now.
Today I finished studying the 22 Trumps, one a day. Its been 22 days since I joined this forum (I think) or at least read the posts. Its been 22 days that I controlled my diet instead of letting it control me, and 22 days since I felt like I was dying inside.
I think its going to be a Carrot Cake Day!

I'd have to agree with Truthsayer...chocolate is the unrecognized food group...if FDA would admit this, we'd all be alot happier. :)
I myself would eat pretty much anything if it was made with chocolate (the exception being chocolate covered insects...I have to draw the line somewhere). I love DARK chocolate. I guess I would have to say my all-time favorite dessert is a brownie....can't beat a thick, fudgy, loaded with chocoalte chunks, covered in frosting piece of heaven on a plate.
Just my 2 cents.

Three-layer chocolate devil's food cake (from my Mom's recipe) with thick layers of whip cream, garnished with bananas.
Unfortunately I can't eat chocolate, dairy (whip cream), sugar, wheat or bananas.
But I can dream, can't I?

Mmmm... Dessert! Big Chocolate fan here too...
I also love Pavlova - especially my mums!
For those who don't know what a Pavlova is... it is an Australian creation made in the 30's for the ballet dancer.
It has a base and sides (almost castle-like) of crispy meringue and is then topped with fresh cream, strawberries, kiwi-fruit and passion fruit. Check it out.

ANYTHING chocolate, especially dark chocolate!
And I have to agree with the other Tiramisu fans here...what a heavenly creation! I just love the idea of putting rum in your dessert...saves you the trouble of fixing that after-dinner drink! ;)
Peace,
Melvis

My husband makes an amazing lemon cheesecake. It is divine! I also love sacher tort, mud cake, and this desert my mum makes with lemon cream, and sponge finger biscuits.

Oh how could of I forgottone my husband or his fathers cheesecakes, they are simply some of the best in the world, but its been years since I had one. :(
My wedding cake was a white chocolate rasperry cheesecake made by my husbands father, and for his brothers wedding my husbands fathr invented a cheese-cake, it has ingrediants of cheesecake and regualr cake in it, has the texture sort of of a regular cake. It waa good. Ive also had apple, pumpkin, and numerous other flavors made by them, but they are pretty expensive and time consuming, so since the kids I havent had any.

TIRAMISU
INGREDIENTS:
* 2pkgs Ladyfingers (Speciailty Foods brand is my favorite)
* 1/2c Brewed espresso coffee, cooled
* 3tbl Marsala or Kahlua (Use more or less to taste)
* 6 Eggs separated
* 6tbl Sugar
* 2lbs Marscapone cheese
(or 1 1/2 lbs cream cheese mixed with 1/2 cup heavy cream
and 1/4 cup sour cream )
* 4tbl Unsweetened cocca
DIRECTIONS:
Spread ladyfingers on a large baking sheet.
In a small bowl, combine coffee and liquour.
Sprinkle on ladyfingers.
Beat egg yolks and sugar with mixer until thick
and lemon colored.(4-5min)
Add marscapone and blend on low speed until combined.
In large bowl beat egg whites with electric mixer
Until soft peaks form.(2-3min)
Using a rubber spatula fold egg whites into marscapone
mixture.
Line the bottom of an 8 cup souffle dish (or 9X13)
with half of the lady fingers. Spread half of the
marscapone mixture on the ladyfingers.
Sift 2tbl of cocoa over the surface.
Repeat ladyfingers, marscapone mixture and cocoa.
Cover with plastic and chill overnight.
I usually divide recipe in half unless serving a large
group. Then only one layer is used

I make this awsome cake. It has a cream cheese and cherry pie filling middle, and is about the best thing.
It is just so rich that one piece is good at a time.

I'd say that definitely deserves a good sized slice of carrot cake Laurel!
I have to add my vote for tiramisu as well, mmmmm they make tiramisu ice cream too, you know....
And I still have to find my recipe for Peaches and Cream pie. It's a family recipe, but I have my suspicions on that since it requires jello pudding... LOL I also love my grandma's rice pudding and bread pudding.
Liliana, your wedding cake sounds fabulous. I love cheesecake. My wedding cake was a 3 layer pumpkin molasses cake with raisins and lemon cream cheese frosting. I made it. My sister offered to make my wedding cake, but she can't bake from scratch (only box cakes for her) so I said "No, thanks!"
Can anyone tell dessert is my fave? I don't eat this stuff often, but I still LOVE my desserts!
R :)

wow i've never heard of Tiramisu before today, and i've found like 3 or 4 threads with it today! i'm thankful you put in the recipe, Lilliana, I guess I'll have to break down and try it.
I've never been much of a desert girl. I'm strictly a tortilla chips and salsa kind. But I discovered this summer what my desert is!! root beer floats ! all of a sudden i'm a fool for dessert time!
