What's your favorite room in the house? Why?

I'm torn between my bedroom (for privacy) and my parents' bedroom (for luxury). :D Er yes I still live with 'em... be moving out soon. :D

Kitchen comes second coz me LOVES cooking! :)

wavebreaker  07 Aug 2002
My bedroom, because of the comfy bed I have there... ;)
And my study, because that's where my computer and my tarot decks! :)

catlin  07 Aug 2002
Living room, because there are all my decks, books, my spread table and my rattan chair. Funny enough, my cats use much more often the bedroom or kitchen than I do.

the hermit  07 Aug 2002
the cave...
cuz that's where the books, the crystals, the cards, rocks, incense, sea water, candles and the computer are located. there's a dragon down here too... and a bear.

it's especially cool in the summer, though a tad damp in the winter...

....I would have to say the living room, coz it has everything in it I love and need.

For starters it has the most comfortable 3-seater soft leather couch in it that you can just fall asleep in any time (or sink away in into your favourite book), two (also very, almost too) comfortable recliners, the computer (very important for this aeclectic addiction) crystals galore, incense, rainbows everywhere from the crystals hanging in the window (sunlight is so beautiful on these crystals), books, books, and more books, and yes of course the tarot decks, it is large and spacy, plenty of room for my 4 year old to play wherever she wants.

It is also ajoined to the kitchen, my favourite next place, which is filled with herbs everywhere. Cluttered on all the shelves are all sorts of jars filled with all different kinds of herbs, dried flowers hanging everywhere. Just your everyday 'witchy' kitchen.

Next favourite place is the bedroom with the most comfortable (comfort is very very important to us ;)) king size bed. The bedroom is farely bare with only a few crystals here and there.

Actually I love all the rooms in our house, but the living room does come in number one. Probably coz I spent most of my time there :)

i live with my parents too and i am 35 years old:)
well, actually i rent this apartment in their house so we only share the garden.

my favorite room is the living room. this house is very "open" it has just two tiny bedrooms and a huge living room / kitchen.
and here i have my tarot corner by the kitchen window and the computer by the big windows and the reading corner by the TV.
(and somehow all those places are usually taken by a cat)
my bedroom is stricktly for meditating and sleeping.
(as soon as i lay down with a book i fall asleep)

Liliana  07 Aug 2002
my study room, where my altar and books are

hermit has a real cave, im sooooo jealous, i want one too :)

I have a home office. It contains my library, my computer and my Tarot stuff.

I need to set up another computer on my network, so that my son can do his music composition somewhere else.

His energy, which is very strong, competes with my own. My wife doesn't seem to leave as much residual energy.

Jenny-Li  07 Aug 2002
My studio. It's going to be a bright top-floor room, with loads of huge windows, some one the ceiling too, so I can watch the stars, or the rain... The room will be organized according to the rule of "structurized chaos" and invite any creative burst of energy that might pop up. Oil paint, water colours, sculpturing materials, papier maché, writing stuff (digital and analogue - computer and pens...), calligraphy - STUFF to DO stuff with!!

Until I get my studio, I'll have to settle for my study. Sounds kind of similar, looks and works QUITE different. But I do keep my decks and books and my computer in there....!

Jenny :D

Sam  07 Aug 2002
my room, then the tv/family room

Starfish  07 Aug 2002
My kitchen - definitely :) I've got a big, lovely table where I do alot of my readings and studying. Plus, it always smells yummy!

Secondly, my room - the altar I'm putting together is in there, it's warm and comfy and a great place to unwind.

My bedroom. That's where my desk is, and I keep all my dragons up there. :D

jade  07 Aug 2002
i don't have one yet. i am still loving my entire house heehee all this space!

but i guess it would appear to others that i love my sunroom (dining room) most since i have such beautiful things in there and a great view of the pond and waterfall from there............aaah

OK, I'm obviously going to be the oddball here, hehehe...:)
I LOVE my bathroom. It is my haven. It is done in all Earth tones, wood and ivy, the shower curtain is suede, and a moss green, the hooks that hold it are ivory colored porceline ivy leaves, my tub is big enough for 2, and an oval shape, I call it a garden tub, hehe.
There is a skylight for natural lighting, and I light candles, incense, put on some nice soothing music, throw in sandlewood chips, and enjoy relaxing my world away :)

If my bathroom was anything like yours it would probably be a fav too :)

I love my house, but if I had to pick one I'd say the bedroom; it's where I keep my library books, and my most-used books in a low bookcase, the top covered with candles. The waterbed (yes, we still have one - I especially love it in the winter) with a book-case headboard that has built-in lights, and many drawers, storage places, and shelves, on a pedastal with more drawers underneath. It's piled with pillows, covered with the summer comforter, (and an extra blanket for my side of the bed), and above it a ceiling fan which keeps the air moving. I love to lay down and read, day or night. It has my most sentimental furniture, too, the cedar chest my dad made, and the antique wooden highchair from my mom's family, my dresser, a TV armoir (Ken's dresser too). It also has a very nice bathroom and a walk-in closet. I would have bought the house for the bedroom alone. :D

Yogi Cat  24 Aug 2002
My favorite room is my healing room where I also do my meditation, practice yoga and practice my tarot card readings. I have lots of crystals and candles in there and the energy feels good - even my cat loves to be in there.

This is gonna sound strange but here goes....

I don't like my bedroom because I don't like my furniture in there and my mattress gives me back aches.

My living room is comfortable and nicely lived in. My computer and sewing machine sit side by side. But it is typical military housing with sterile white walls and ugly white floors.

My favorite "room" has to be my neighbors front porch. I know if I have had a really bad day I can go sit on her porch with her and relax for a few minutes.

Aw, I sincerely hope that one day your favourite room (or porch!) will be in your own home...!

Light and love!
Jenny :)

Kazz  24 Aug 2002
My fav room would be a toss up at the moment. between the lounge room and the bedroom. My lounge room has my wizards and dragons and some of my crystals, my bedroom has my tarot cards, candles and incense, my discman, and a really comfy bed, which I read on sometimes late at night.
So until I get organised with arranging the rooms the way i want, I will have to put up with it.
Oh and the computer is in a little alcove room (supposed to be a dining room , too small) in between the loungeroom and the kitchen, so i certainly spend alot of time there.

lunalafey  24 Aug 2002
I have a cave too, but I was not the one to name my bedroom as such. When people(who don't know each other even) visit for the first time, that's what they call it, a cave, maybe because of the way it's set up?. My comfy bed, books, alter, computer, a tv/vcr for those rare times I get to watch a movie...I don't have TV. stations or cable or...all that stuff...not into being 'programmed'
I live in a trailer house, so my room is all the way in the back, it's quite the retreat from the kids and thier messes.

amyel  24 Aug 2002
Almost all the rooms in my house have "my* influence, so I'm comfortable in all of them. But the room I gravitate towards the most is my living room, especially during summer days & winter nights. Why?

Because it filled with art. The walls are a warm, soft golden-yellow. I have plants in it and a small fountain. In the winter, the sun comes through the south face patio doors and at night, we can light a fire in the fireplace. There are comfy chairs and a relaxed, caramal colored leather couch. I can see the front garden and yard from the north face picture window. In the summer, we can use the patio deck, so it feels larger. It looks out into the "dining room" which is really just the central space in our house and doesn't actually have a table in it, but I can see the wall unit with little treasures from our travels and old books, and new books and more art, and I can control the music from our bookshelf sized stereo unit....this room is truly *me*.

Bings  24 Aug 2002
Jenny, it isn't a bad thing that my favorite room is my friend's front porch. Its a wonderful thing to have such a good group of friends that we can gather together under the stars at night to unwind and relax with good conversation, sometimes no conversation and sometimes even a deck of tarot cards.

zorya  24 Aug 2002
my favorite room, isn't in my house. it's an area outside that is all mine. i can't be seen by anyone from there. it's on the edge of the woods, overlooking a high drop and our creek. it has my favorite tree. on one side of it are wild rasberry bushes, on the other wild blackberry. in season, if real lucky, morels can be found. in rainy seasons you can hear the water rushing. the deer also like this spot and will come very close to me.

jade  25 Aug 2002
oh zorya that's my favorite room in your house too!

can i come over to play?

*oh to do an attunement in that spot*

then jade remembers her paradise in her backyard.......pond, waterfall, amazing flowers and shrubs and trees............aaaahhhhhhh.

love
jade

zorya  25 Aug 2002
aw jade, you have been here so many times! maybe irl you could come someday too! but it's nothing like the mountains that overlook your home. i want to visit soooooo much!!!!!!

jade  25 Aug 2002
*jade sends zorya a ticket to her yard!*

Summerdream  27 Aug 2002
My favorite room in the house has got to be my bedroom. That's where I can spend some quiet time and usually relax at night with my favorite book and a set of cards.

marmalade  27 Aug 2002
mmmmm... probably my bedroom at my 'other' home... it's getting a bit cluttered with furniture, and my huge 4 poster iron canopy bed doesn't help clear the clutter either! oh well... the walls are purple (almost the shade of the lighter purple/blue on the forum here), with a boarder of glow in the dar stars all the way along the top of the wall all around the room. the bed is draped in clear christmas lights, and more glow in the dark stars suspended from the bed. really cool to lay there with only the christmas lights on, then to turn them off and feel like you're in your own universe with the stars all around!!

Ladyhawke  27 Aug 2002
I spend most of my time in my bedroom. It's far away from my husband's cave/computer room (and the noise from his computer games and him jabbering away on the GameVoice while he's playing EverCrack) that I can actually hear the TV. :) I watch a good amount of TV and cross-stitch or crochet at the same time.

And, despite the bathtub not being a deep as I'd like and despite that I'd like to redecorate the whole room, I love the bathroom. I am *such* a waterbaby. It's not unusual for me to take a daily bath (in addition to my daily shower). And I enjoy sitting on the couch in the living room to read. The couch is really comfy, it gets good sunlight in the morning and afternoon, and there's usually at least one of the cats there to keep me company.

my favorite room is the living room. like others here it is full of all my favorite things; books, comics, tarot decks, plants, tv & movies, and is situated next to the computer and the kitchen!
