Last night I was watching Ripley's, and they did a story on a girl with only half a brain. She got a very rare disease, and it was either take the side of the brain that was infected, or she would die. Could you imagine being only 8 and having to make the choice that could kill you, even tho it might save you?
I was stunned to find out, that she is now a freshman in high school, on a bowling team, the only problem that she came out fromt he surgery with is, that she has limited use of the left side of her body. She is very smart, in fact she said she is 52 out of 200+ in her class.
I was wondering if you would risk the life of your child to save your child? Could you watch her/him go off to surgery and know that maybe the last time you see them? (knowing that if you didn't they would die sooner)

Of course I would, if I didnt I wouldnt see them anyway. Only if it were 100% certain theyd die otherwise, of course.

If I had any kids, and they were going to die sooner, i'd do the surgery.
