Tarot shops in London?

Today my request to visit a conference in London was approved, so I'll be spending a few days in London at the beginning of November, all expenses paid... :D

I doubt whether that will include any tarot expenses though ;), but that won't stop me from having a look around. So does anyone now any interesting tarot shops in London? Or maybe regular book shops that have a good deck collection, Foyle's or Waterstone's maybe?

Sure helps Strega, thanks!
I guess my best bet is simply going to Charing Cross Road, that's where most of them are... ;)

I was at one called Mystery or Mysteries or something like that, somewhere in the Covent Garden area, but NOT the one IN the Covent Garden "basement" (which is a cute little store but very overcrowded with tourists). I was very new to everything Tarot/Spirituality back then, and therefore completely confused when entering this tiny store, filled from floor to ceiling with spirituality-stuff and tarot decks and books and CD's and incenses and crystals and ... you NAME it! But it's definitely the one I'd go back to if I was going to London again. :)

I have the address somewhere in the attic, I'll go get it for you, if there aren't any London-tarotholics around who know precisely what store I'm talking about...?

Jenny :)

Thanks Jenny-Li! I'll definitely go to Covent Garden if I have the time, I always love it there!

And make sure you ask Watkins to put you on their mailing list for their book catalogue. They have the most amazing stock of esoteric books.

Yes it does have a certain air about it... But the book store is about a 10-15 minutes walk from there, so you better have an address before you go. I'll check it out for you, promise!

i'm in London, but I don't know where any tarot-type shops (other than bookstores really) are, so i'm glad of this post! (i would started one of my own eventually...)

this is the info for (i think) the place jenny-li was talking about (it's called 'mysteries' and it's in Covent Garden at least!):

Mysteries Ltd
9-11, Monmouth St
London WC2H_9DA

Tel: 020 7240 3688

It's near where i work.. maybe i'll check it out at lunch sometime... i'll give you a report when i do!

THAT'S the one! Thanks! Do check it out, it feels a bit messy, because it's so stuffed with things, but I rememer it as a very cool store! I was there last spring...

Jenny :)

I don't know anything about London, but wanted to wish you a great time on your trip!

Hi

I hope I'm not too late on this thread but Compendium Books closed down over a year ago.

You could try Wonders in Covent Garden near the Jublie market and Wilde ones on Kings Rd.

But you should find everything you need re: tarot from the other shops listed, as the high street retail book shops only have a few decks.

Watkins are really cool and Mysteries too!
