I know there have been a number of threads about tattoos but I just finished designing a tattoo that I really like and I wanted to get your reaction to it before I get 'inked'. I think I would get it done on my shoulder blade, it is kinda' that shape and that is a good spot so it won't be seen all the time but can be seen if I choose...
In case you didn't pick it, the design is derived from the Thoth: Knight of Cups which is very *me*.
So... should I get it done?

Very cool! I think it would be a great tattoo. Is that about the size you'd have it done? Black ink?
I think the shoulder blade is a great spot too, that's where my next one's going.

It's stunning, and would really say something about you as a person Kayne! ALthough a non-Tarot person wouldn't understand.. :( Maybe the title underneath it? Nah, now I'm being tacky!
It look great!

I remember way back when I got mine...
you where considering a constillation at that time
If it feels like THIS IS THE ONE!!!!
then it is time for some ink.....
personally, I think it's great! I love horses.
I can look to the image and see alot of personal things for myself, NICE......

Kayne this is a great design for a tatoo, the crowley tarot is (for me) the greatest one there is!!!!!
Knight of cups says enough on it's own doesn't it......the only thing that I would add is "Unio Mystica" ( in my own translation, the mystical merging of the soul with God).
I think it's great when people get tatoos about things that they relate too. A friend of mins has the word "truth" tattoed accross his stomach. He's got all kins of symbolism on his body and if you look closely you can just make out a piece of bare skin that is not inked in :D

Here Here! Great job, go for it. Such a good job turning so intricate of an image with so much color into a monotoned version. It's very dramatic and easy to see.
And speaking of your design talents... do you do tribal ~reaches for her wallet~ :D

you where considering a constillation at that time You have such a great memory! I chickened out on that one... think I decided it was a bit too boring... but I really do like this one and since everyone agrees and all... *peer pressure* :P I think I may just have to do it! :D
If anyone is serious about tattoo designs how about we trade. Give me a tarot deck of my choice and I will do a desing for you. :) (I really didn't start this thread as a business venture :D) (And Pollux, you know what you'll owe me :* LOL)

jade: hmm... hadn't considered that... That *would* look pretty cool. I will give it some thought - thanks for the suggestion. At the moment 'ink-day' looks like being this Sunday. My best friend is getting one done then too. I think I will let her go first... :P

Okies I posted before I read BUT I still think it needs color! I have a tatoo (a rose) and it looks as good today as the day I got it. When I go in the sun I just put sunblock 30 on it to protect it. Kayne color rules!

Have been considering some colour ideas... which of these three do you think would work best?

Among the three... the last one in black and white :P
I think you shold consider indigo. And some purple and black.
(Isn't he dumb... *LOL* I can't help it, these are my favourite colours)

i prefer your original. i was just suggesting that instead of black ink, using indigo or another dark colour and leaving the flesh (in between the lines) still your natural flesh.
i feel it 'pops' better that way.
love
jade
ps my tat is blue (bright), pink and purple and it's over 4 years old....looks the same as the day i got it AND i've never covered it with sunscreen. it's on my outer calf.

One of my tatts is my own design of a cute cartoony cat, but I prefer my Hans Holbein angel, so I put the whole series on the web in case anyone's looking for designs:
http://www.retrokat.com/medieval/viho.htm
A tip from someone with 4 tatts - it hurts a lot less on fleshy bits (like arms) than it does near bone. The one on my tailbone hurt so much I would have begged the tattooist to stop if he hadn't been a big scary bikie type ;)
What is it about artists - we just have to decorate everything, eh?

I think Kayne's plain black original has the most impact, if we're voting. Unless he's already done it?
I live in Perth, do you reckon I can convince him to show me for-real? ;)
