we read about it. see it written all over. it's in many support groups.
do you believe in it? do you have unconditional love for people? and if so, who?
oh and what's your definition of it?
i'm not doing well expressing myself tonight so i'll answer my own thread tomorrow.

unconditional love is soul level love which has no definations and is the closest we can come to loving from the infinite divne level on the earth plane i strive to do that every day but fail yet i feel i come a bit closer over time

For me, unconditional love by definition would mean loving someone no matter what they did, or what happened between you. No conditions. Including if the loved one committed horrible, unforgivable and unimaginable crimes.
I think it might be possible between some parents and children. Not being a parent, I don't know, but that's my theory. I know personally that a parent can loose the love and respect of their children. I feel my love for my neices and nephews is as close to unconditional as a non-birth parent can get.
But I think other loves have conditions, of one kind or another.

I not only believe in unconditional love but was blessed to experience it for four years.
Unconditional love is exactly what VGimlet said:"For me, unconditional love by definition would mean loving someone no matter what they did, or what happened between you. No conditions. Including if the loved one committed horrible, unforgivable and unimaginable crimes."
But it is also so much more than that.
It is putting someone else's needs ahead of your's, even if it hurts you. It's giving up all you know and relying on one another to be there no matter what. It's staying with someone even when they hurt you repeatedly. It's shown in actions rather than expressed with words that can sometimes be empty. Unconditional love is limitless and pure, it survives all, it allows you to be human and loved regardless the clay feet we all have.
I could go on and on of unconditional love, but unless you've experienced it, it's hard to fathom.
I was blessed. And I wish it all for each of you.

Definately my husbansd and I have unconditional love, tho due to low self esteem Im always afraid that it will stop being unconditional. I really doubt thats possible tho. I think thees unconditional love between me and my children as well. But I have a slightly lesser version of it for everyone, I think I can best describe it as non judgemental love.

I agree, unconditional love hasno boundaries, beyond acts and deceptions. Mine is for my husband, parents and family. A family member has done something which others may not have been able to accept or forgive. Unconditional love let's one forgive and go beyond.

that...quote: "unconditional love is soul level love which has no definations and is the closest we can come to loving from the infinite divne level on the earth plane"/quote
I truly believe this is it.
Now to be aware at the level of my soul and get rid of the scrap.
Now there's a job for me!

when i was in support groups i heard about unconditional love with everyone claiming to have it for each other and then watched as they ended their friendships and began disliking each other.
it made those words mean nothing to me.
to me, love has conditions. respect is one of them.
although, i will always love my children and i will always love the Goddess. so perhaps i do believe after all.
love

i don't have a description for it, but i know how it feels to recieve it. some time ago i had to put down one of my dogs because of cancer, the same night i got an attunement, during that, i experienced the unconditional love of my dog for me.

I believe in unconditional love and think its a completely spiritual experience. I also think there's an awful lot of confusion and misconception about it in our culture.
I think the only way to know if love is unconditional is to see it tested in the worst circumstances, and sadly it often is.

Unconditional love is something that is inside you naturally or it is something you learn. In my life it has always been there. It is easy for me to forgive and forget. Of course you have to go beyond the hurt of things and just let your heart be open. I really believe in the saying " If you love something let it go, if it returns to you then it is truly yours."
It has rang true for me...
* Oh, and by the way, I Love You *
*hugs all around!!!!!*

i think unconditional love is impossible for human beings unless you're like jesus or buddha. in my experience and belief, the truest unconditional love comes from Spirit or the universal mind aka God. i've felt the closest i've felt unconditional love from human beings but even that paled to the love i experienced during a shamanic journey. it's a love so strong that i felt loved down to a cellular level. there aren't words adequate to describe it. when i left it i cried b/c i didn't want to be here but i knew i have responsibilties and commitments to complete. at the time i experienced that journey, i was suicidal. that experience turned my life around. it gave me something warm and strong to hold on to when the world feels shakey. it doesn't die, reject or otherwise abandon me. i feel it in my essence, my spirit, my soul and i feel a deep longing to return to it when my responsibilties are finished. it's like being severely dehydrated and then water saturating your body bringing you back and making you whole and free of all the emotional and physical pain you've ever experienced.
anyhow, unconditional love is beyond words. everyone should try it.
