Here we go...V.G. said it...you all have an opinion...now

WHO HAS THE RECIPES?

Pollux: Trifolati? Torture me some more...

Pollux  19 Aug 2002
FUNGHI TRIFOLATI

- mushrooms, generally the "Champignon" quality (is it the same name that we use?)
- oil for frying (as pure and expensive, if you can, like olive)
- garlic
- parsley
- salt

1) Cut the mushroom in thin slices/cubes or whatever shape, what really matters is that it will allow a good frying that will make them crunchy.
2) Put the oil in your pan, and when it is warm, add a wedge/piece of garlic.
3) After a couple of minutes, once the oil has been flavoured, put the mushrooms.
4) When you are satisfied with the cooking, put them on paper to drain the oil.
5) Add tiny bits of fresh parsley, and salt.
6) Put them in the plates, and thrust your face mouth-wide-open toward it. *LOL*

ENJOY!!!

Ah, Bliss... mushrooms, SLURP!!! :P

My new religion- (lol)

the pursuit of ability to actually cook.

I will solemnly strive to attain this rumored

nirvana of bliss~~~*~~~

the perfect "crunchy mushroom"

using every method at my disposal...

including stealing (uh..borrowing)

the gourmet appliances and woks

of people I hardly know.

Thanks for the recipe, Pollux...off to the store I go

- the darkest and richest virgin olive oil I
can find, and when I was in Greece- I poured it all over everything

new affliction for garlic fans...have to share this:

Skordalia: a paste of the inside of a freshly baked
loaf of REAL bread (think "french bakery" not
whole grain...)

w/mortar and pestle (how apropo)

ground or mushed with the best garlic

in the thickest squeezed or mashed form~

add as you mash: the darkest and richest extra extra extra

virgin olive oil.

it is great on freah bread, and it is great on cardboard.

Go figure.

Hey Violt G:

You did mean that you were inviting us all

to High Tea ( the kind
where there is FOOD invoked....) didn't you?

You pour and I'll wash up after.

jade  20 Aug 2002
aaah baked garlic squeeeeeeezed onto baked potatoes...........yummy!

mmmm mmmmm mmmmm
jade

ps pollux where's the part about the doggie biscuits???

Pollux  20 Aug 2002
I DON'T eat doggie biscuits, I never tried and never shall!
I don't know... I was called up for mushrooms, and I accomplished my mission in this world of weird-cravers... Now I can fly to the next stage of existence... *Flies to the world of... mh... of sports and physical activity freaks! :D*

All Is One, that of the oil was just a joke. You can use whatever oil is decent enough for frying - but of course the purer the better. It's a choice that depends on your shopping priorities I think... ;)
And the thing of bread/garlic/oil you describe used to be our afternoon snack when my twin sister and I were younger, and we stayed with our belated granny (mum works/worked). Nice memory! :)

All Is One  20 Aug 2002
Thanks for the mushroom recipe...I tried to list my
favorite kind of m-rooms on the other thread and th new censor thingie placed itself front and centr...cracked me up:

watch~~

the truth isn't pretty- I probably can eat my weight in

****ake mushrooms.

Sure, I'll remember to leave my calling card for those that are not home when we ride by in our carraige of Biscuits and Tea......

Poetlove  21 Aug 2002
Since we are talking about mushrooms...... Does anyone have a good recipe for stuffed mushrooms?????

All Is One  30 Aug 2002
Trade secret ...no recipe invoking/involving mushrooms

or other spells...

can be shared on the web...

got my notice in the mail this morning. Dire threats of
disempowerment...or maybe the thing that hopped out of
the little package

said..."I threaten you with DISEMBOWLMENT..." ???

The cloud of odiferous green smoke that poufed up as it
vanished had my eyes watering and the birds gasping for
2 hours.

No wonder I can't 'member what the threat was.

Suggest you try: The Joy of Cooking (nicely written ...

and includes multi-part spell work ummm....cookery...

...not for the beginner)

Let me know how the stuffed mushrooms turn out

(hint:crab, garlic, scallions)

and do try to get the ****ake ones ....tee hee hee

serve some for Pollux and Jade, will ya?

....fish?

All Is One  14 Sep 2002
Well...if fish were to be offered...gee, I could hardly slip off
into the infundibulum without a few dainty
morsels of...did someone say creamed picked
herriing? On those cute little dark rye party rounds?

If you were to offer that with just the thinnest
slice of cukecumber...oh- why
amazing coincidence...I just happen to have some
right here...care for a bit?
Let me see now- I think I spotted a packet of cream cheese...

Just the thing you know....

~aio

off to eat breakfast :)
