I love Autumn best, too!
The crunchy leaves, the smell of fireplaces going, the cool days and snuggly weather nights... Warm donuts and apple cider at the local cider mill... MMmmmmmm....
Second is Winter, Third is Spring and last is Summer (my least favorite - too hot for me).

Mine is summer: the long days and short nights, sun, warm weather... Ok, we do get the occasional hot day, but that's just a few days a year.
Spring is second, I love seeing nature awaken again after winter. Autumn is third, and the long dark winter is definitely my least favourite (I always suffer from winter depression...).

Summer gets my vote. I love the warm weather, the longer days before it turns dark, the windows down and feeling the warm breeze blow thru my hair. All of my favorite things to do take place in the summer: going to the beach, camping under the stars, all the tourist towns bustling, going for a cruise on the ocean, fireworks, bbqs, schools out and just lazy summer days.

i have two favorites, neither of which last long enough. one is the autumn. the forest turns red, orange and brown. the sky is it's bluest. the moon is it's largest. the leaves crunch under foot. the smells, ahhh. all that's left to do in the garden is harvest it's last. and holloween comes in the autumn! (and the bugs go away.)
then there's spring! the hundreds of daffodils i naturalized bloom. the dogwood and redbud trees are in flower. the birds are nesting and raising there young. it's as if the world has awakened from its long winter sleep. (and the bugs aren't around yet.)

*autumn is my favorite :D
i love the crunchy leaves as well, and the smell when people burn them.
and the dancing. when the leaves fall and collect on the ground, if the wind kicks up they swirl and dance like little faeries.
and football (american) i love football. and the smell of the crisp air, the sweaters, the cool evening. yummm
*Spring is second, it's so wet, rainy, misty, i love it! little buds on the trees peeking out, flowers stretching out of their sleepy coccoons.
* summer in michigan sucks (way too muggy!) but in seattle, it may become my second favorite!!
* winter is the pits. i get grumpy, depressed. it's too freaking cold out here! ice on the ground so you can hardly walk or drive. tons of snow to shovel and maneuver through. heavy layers of clothes that can't keep you from shaking and your teeth from chattering. sheesh! but it sure sparkles in winter :)

winter...
why?
The sight of the big ocean swells crashing along the wind swept beaches and rocky cliffs as the storms pile into the northern coast of California.
The wonder of cold white snow covering the steep majestic heights of the Sierras.
The sound of rain drumming on the roof as a fire crackles in the hearth below.
The smell of damp earth and wet leaf after each storm has past.
The feel of clean, cold air as I breath in and watch the tattered clouds sweeping across the sky, covering and uncovering a shining new moon and the sparkling stars on a glorious winter night.
And when I’m really, really lucky... nature gives me a glorious lightshow with lightning flashing across the sky as thunder booms and rolls across the valley floor.
I love winter!

I love summer...

winter... but particularly winter back home in canada. i love snow, especially when you wake up to a fresh blanket of it and everything is all calm and undisturbed. i love walking trough the crunchy snow, and i love the fresh cold air!
i also have a bit of a theory that people tend to prefer the season they were born in... i'm a february baby & i love winter. hubby was born in october & he prefers autumn, and this works with about 80% of my friends as well... what do you all think?

I love the diversity of all the seasons, so I don't really have a favourite one.
Although I love the very long days of summer (here it stays light till about 11 pm) I don't so much go for the heat (something I experienced too much of by living in the tropics for 12 years).
I absolutely love spring for the new beginnings and I love the fall for the changes that take place (especially the colourful leaves).
The only thing I kind of dislike about the winter is that the days are so short (here it doesn't get light in the morning till about 9 am and in the afternoon it's already dark at 5 pm), but apart from that I love the winter, kind of a hibernating time for everyone because they all seem to stay inside.
I think the reason that I love all seasons about the same is because I have lived in the tropics for so long and there everything stayed the same all year round..........ever celebrated christmas at 38 degrees celcius?????

I like the different seasons for different things.
and it always seems that when I start to get sick of the cold or the heat, the season changes...I love rain....and as far as what seasons are like where I'm at? the joke is, there are two, rain and construction...but really, we have a smooth transition. Sometimes a season will linger. Sometimes it will suprise you with 80 degree weather at christmas one year and freeze you ehem..off another year and then there are the 60 days and 60 nights of nothing but RAIN(seriously happened in 1996). We get rain in the summer, like a two day down pour, usually the second weekend in June. (can almost set your calander to it) This year has been a very windy one...ALL YEAR.

But I was born first day of winter

Autumn to me is the most magical time of the year. The holidays are starting with Halloween (my favorite) and it is just great all the way through Yule. The air smells wonderful, nature is ablaze with color and I just feel more alive.
I really can't decide between the other 3 seasons which would be my second favorite. Winter has a stark beauty all its own; Spring is mystical, Summers here are so hot and humid but the evening skies are terrific. So I can't decide. I will say that my *least* favorite month is probably February. It is so dreary here in February and wet and cold.

My favourite season is the autumn.
I find it very beautiful, with it's red, orange and yellow colors. Also I like the fresh air it brings.
I like that it's getting dark and that I can light candles and seek inside myself.
But the most important thing with the autumn, is that it gives a sign of higher justice and divine contact. Everything must die, and we all meet in the autumn....so beautiful - like a old couple's love. There - where life goes to a rest - we all have to end. Rich and poor, healthy and sick, winners and losers. The autumn doesn't look at those things, but call every living thing to it's rest.
Looking forward to enjoy the autumn with you - both here these next months and in the future! :)

I like them all for their own reasons.
Spring is such a relief after the long, cold winters, especially here in Ottawa. Unlike Jade, *our* spring isn't assured until May, although sometimes we have nice weather as early as March. I like spring so I can get started on planting. I like the annual Tulip Festival on Dow's lake - literally millions and millions of tulips are donated from our friends in the Netherlands as thanks for the support Canada showed toward their royals in WW2. In a good year, this is really spectacular to see!
Summer is just wonderful. Sitting on the deck with my coffee on a Saturday morning, watching the birds flit and fly around, seeing the garden in full bloom.
Autumn: well, fall in Ottawa is spectacular, especially if we've had a good rain throughout the summer. The trees turn these multitude of colors! I've lived in Canada just about 20 years, the last 6 in Ottawa, and until I moved here, I never understood why there was a red maple leaf on the flag. When you come here in Autumn, you understand.
I like winter, too, especially with the first snowfall, or when we have what I call the "fairy frost" - you know, where the snow is so icey and it clings to the trees in a white glow. I do most of my dreaming and garden planning in winter, in front of the fireplace. Still, I'm alwasy happy to see spring arrive. Winters drag on a bit too long some years.

It was a tie for me, between Autumn and Winter. I was born in Autumn (Nov1, Samhain for us!) which fits the season you're born in theory. I love the crisp cold air, the brilliant sunshine lighting up the changing leaves like thousands of candle flames. The clear nights when you can see every star in the sky, and the moon looks like sterling silver in the deep blue sky.
I love the Autumn rains, which chase the fallen leaves into rustling whirls which dance around my feet, a few taking refuge in my car when I open the door. The scents of the earth, woodstoves are popular here, and you can smell the tangy smoke from someone's hearth.
But I love winter. I love snow. When we get a lot of it, it lies deep and sparkling like a billion tiny diamonds. And it quiets everything down. There's a hush over the world. It's so cold, everything stops, even time, so it seems.
And the colour of the sky at 5:00 PM turns the snow, and the whole world around, to ultramarine blue. It's so cold your words freeze. The ice hangs from the rooftops in platinum spikes. When the sky greys, everything is grey, and we wait in anticipation of the snow.
Sometimes it rains, and we get ice. It coats everything, and when the sun comes out (It always does!) rainbow colours dazzle from every direction, as the ice's prismatic effect shatters the light into the spectrum. The cold air is so fresh, and I don't mind bundling up to keep warm. I love to look out my windows in the morning, with a fresh cup of hot coffee, and see the world transformed. And when it melts, another transformation! People may think of winter as a dead sort of season, but it's very alive to me. Just extremely subtle.

Add to all the other good autumn things, the smell of green chile being roasted outdoors, and making the crisp air smell so yummmmm all during the Fall.
I was married in October, it's just so lovely i think. I also had a NDE in October many many years ago, and I hold that event, although painful, special to me now too.

Despite the horrible allergies I get in fall (for some weird reason), it is my favorite time of the year. I love the smell! Since I live in the mountains now, the scenery with the colored leaves is absolutely gorgeous.

I love autumn. There is nothing like upstate new york during the fall. The leaves change color, there are apples to pick, the weather cools off and gets right into my comfort zone. I love it, I wish it would last longer. Halloween of course makes fall very worth while. It's by far my favorite holiday. My family goes nuts decorating. It's just the sensory experience of fall that makes it so wonderful. Fall is cool crisp air with the hint of winter coming, the rustling of multicolored leaves, the smell of apples being made into various treats like mulled cider, apple sauce, apple crisp...(drooling yet?) It's the sound of little kids yelling trick or treat. It's just so much that I love, and I'm so excited that it's just around the corner.

I love Autumn! The air gets crisp and seems to bring people closer, I love the wonderful nights of snuggling!
I love Spring also, but Autumn the best!
It seems to me as though the very best of the seasons, not to hot and not to cold!
I don't usually drink that much coffee except in fall and winter to get a warm glow going! Ooooh and hot cocoa too!
I love when all the leaves begin to turn, and I love to be able to get outside and rake them all up!
Oh yes! I love the Fall of the Year!
* I can smell it coming! *

Autumn for me too.
It all gets melancholic and watery, the rain is not as violent and undesirable as in summer (just finished puoring down today - and we all know what happened this summer), the air is fresh, the sun is gentle and the moon more comforting.
The tree shedding leaves are.. a bit too sad (*LOL*) but luckily I am sorrounded by evergreens, so it is not really a problem. The apples are finally ripe, and every Sunday there's my Mum's applepie waiting for me at brunch...
I get back to my friends, and the everyday activity - that after summer is pretty healthy for me (*LOL*) - and finally the shops are open again!!! And there are street-sellers offering chestnuts in the centre (YUMMY!!!).
Definitely Autumn.
Winter is my second favorite.
There's nothing like long sleep-ins under kilos of blankets, when outside is cold and breezy. And I especially love those winter mornings, when all is calm and peaceful, I have to try hard if I want to hear the birds sing... It's all so still and silent, so... under/other-world-like. And i cosily have my breakfast, and do my stuff, and we (= mum and I) idle spend hours reading in front of the fireplace.
The Hearth is something I can't do without.
Spring - OUCH!!! I get allergy and hay fevere, and it takes me ages to get back to the faster rhytmes of the nature (but I'm sure I'll do better this time).
And Summer is the least favourite. I never get as tanned as I want, just scorched, and my body is full of freckles, and the Sun starts waning, no more outstanding sunsets...
Winter and Autumn do get depressive, I must admit that. And melancholic and sad and what not... But that is my watery part... :P

I actually love both spring and autumn but around here autumn is often so short. We once had a terrible snowstorm in October that actually made them cancel Halloween!
When Mother Nature takes her time--like last year! Autumn is one of the most beautiful times of the year! There's a street down by my office that is lined with trees [i don't know what kind :( ] but they turn golden in the fall! I'll go out walking in the morning or afterwork and just stare at them a whole avenue of whispering gold!
Spring lasts longer for some reason and I love the smell of lilacs and cherry blossoms. Such a magical time. Makes you want to just breath it all in The earth is alive and things are growing and it hasn't yet gotten so hot and humid that you feel like you're stuck under a wet wool blanket.
that's why I like spring and autumn. the moderate temperatures :) I don't like the cold and I can't take the heat. In the summer I only venture forth in the cool of the evening.

i voted summer.
summers in the north of sweden are really spectacular. they are kind of short
(late may to late august if we are lucky) but the season makes up for it with the midnight sun and days that linger on forever and ever.
this summer have been the warmest in at least 140 years. the autumn arrived like a clockwork yesterday at september the first.
i do like the autumn too - if only it wouldn't remind me of the dreaded winter to come.
things i love to do in the summer:
fishing and camping out alone in the woods, long walks in the woods, gardening, taking lots of photos, staying up until 3 am and read on the balcony with a cup of tea and listen to the wind rustle in the trees.

I love the Autumn best - here its a gentle transition from the awful heat of summer to cooler evenings, the air is clearer with a hint of winter coming, the sunsets are vivid and the autumn flowers in shades of yellows, golds and rusts are my favourites.
Spring comes in a close second.

i actually have two: spring and autumn...i choose here the spring, i'm a springchild and love it, all that life that get born, flowers popping out...blossems, the colors that live again...through the cold and grey, dead times and then after the summer, things are slowly dying, leaves fall, the wind blows, ...i can't explain it very well in english but these two are my favourites, especcialy spring though!
