I smiled today. Two ducks had walked up the road from the lake (a long walk) and were waddling along to the big fountain in the neighbourhood park. They had stopped all the traffic on a very busy street. But the funniest thing was, they were crossing the street on the Pedestrian crossing!! People got out of their cars to watch and it was just so funny.

Since many of the things I would have listed are already listed here on my fellow Aeclecticians lists, I will add:
an elderly couple that still holds hands while they walk together;
my children trying to catch fireflies at dusk on a summer evening;
the way my husband sticks his tongue out of the corner of his mouth when he's helping the kids with homework;
a rainbow;
my youngest blowing on a fuzzy white dandelion;
how excited my dog gets when I say the words "Let's go for a walk";
watching my toddler nephew discover things for the first time;
turning off the lights and turning on the Christmas tree lights;
decorating my house for Samhain/Halloween;
rolling around in piles of crunchy leaves;
seeing my daughters dance with their Daddy;
the smell of pumpkin pie;

Reasons to be cheerful...
Cats
Chocolate
Sun, Moon and Stars
Primroses and Violets
All my favourite folksongs and music
My stuff - books, jewellery, my Mucha posters and mirrors, my cat plates and my glass candlesticks (I'm an earth sign - can I help it if I like material things?)
Memories of my visits to sacred sites - Glastonbury, Cadbury, various stone circles and a holy well in Northumberland that had such an air of eternal calm and peace about it that it almost seemed to be in another world
Jilly
no people in my list - I suppose I don't like people much! ;)

A friend just sent me an email with these quotes and they made me smile!! :)
Living on Earth is expensive, but it does include a free trip around the sun every year.
How long a minute is depends on what side of the bathroom door you're on.
Birthdays are good for you; the more you have, the longer you live.
Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left open.
Ever notice that the people who are late are often much jollier than the people who have to wait for them?
Most of us go to our grave with our music still inside of us.
If Walmart is lowering prices every day, how come nothing is free yet?
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
Don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened.
A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.
