I have a question about two of the chakras...The heart and root chakra. How do you clear a chakra. I used my pendulum to check them out and these are the two I always have problems with. There is a lady at this new age store that I go to, she also told me that those two need to be cleared. She also told me that my aura was light blue with white. Not sure what light blue with white means either. Didn't think to ask at the time. :) Can just meditating on them clear them or I seen FP post something using stones?!? Thanks in advance.

On top of this question, I would like to ask another one, cuz I know hardly anything about chakras:
How do chakras get blocked in the first place?

Hi
I hope this helps…….
Chakras can be cleared in different ways, which ever one suits you best. Heres my example. My heart Chakra is blocked and maybe others too due to splitting up with my boyfriend and feeling like killing myself. Using a pendulum is good to find out but the male and female Chakras spin round in a different way. Clock wise and anti clock wise I can’t remember which is which. BUT another good way to clear them is yoga!!!!
I used my crystals yesterday as I havn’t used them for ages. I had my rose quartz crystal on my heart chakra, also you can just visualize your 7 chakra’s (theres more all around the body) being cleaned and you can open and close them like a rose bud.
1. Root or Base Chakra - Red
2. Sacral Chakra - Orange
3. Solar Plexus Chakra –Yellow
4. Heart Chakra- Green
5. Throat Chakra- Turquoise or sky blue
6. Brow/ Third eye Chakra-Indigo blue
7. Crown Chakra-white,violet or gold
I must admit that I never work on them until I have a problem which is bad.
Good luck!

Hello,
Chakras are my specialist subject, I work with a number of healing modalities that work on the subtle bodies and the energetic anatomy is one of my great loves! I'm currently finishing off a book on this subject, which has become quite some tome, and fingers crossed it will go into print!
The chakras suck energy from the world around us into the body, for the prime purpose that this vital force gives us our vitality, without it we malfunction. Each of the seven main chakras (their is a proposed eigth & various minor ones also, but they are of negligable importance for the sake of this description) draw energy into the body for various purposes ie each chakra controls certain functions. Consequently, when a chakra is out of harmony with its natural vibratory rate, the functions it controls become impaired, this can then have a trickle down effect into the meridians (the veins of the energy system) & then the physical body.
The best way to discover those chakras that are out (without having to go into the realms of clairvoyant perception, kinesiology etc) is to check your body language. You will find that you often cover those chakras that are out of synch in order to protect them, common examples are crossing the legs to protect the base chakra, crossing your arms over the sacral, solar plexus or heart chakras, holding your hand over the throat chakra when you talk, placing your forehead in your palms to cover the third eye chakra and placing a hand or hat on the top of the head to cover the crown. Incidentally people with self-worth issues often put weight on which covers the solar plexus chakra & esoterically protects it.
The chakras are so interdependent it is best not to work on one particular chakra on its own unless you are 100% sure that it is the only one out of balance, this is for the simple reason that they need to be harmonious, not under or overactive.
The simplest way is a simple meditation imaging each chakra as a flower or vortex of the appropraite colour, and working from base to crown allow each one to open, then when the crown opens, work back down closing them. It is important to close them or else you will find they start to take on negative energy, which will just succeed in damaging them again! There are other ways but they are far too complex to go into here. As for crystals, you can use quartz on any chakra, as for chakra & crystal correspondances, they differ wildly from one list to the next, there is no definitive version. You could do worse than simply pick them on basis of colour alone, for the simple reason that chakras respond particularly well to colour (and incidentally sound, which are both forms of vibrational healing working on sympathetic resonance).
Hope this helps,
Martin

Well, first off thanks. Second, I do crossed my legs alot and my arms too but not as much. To extent on my orginal post of why the heart and root chakras. The heart, I feel is cause of what happen in my last relationship plus problems with my mom. (my folks got divorced when I was like 3 yrs old and it was a very ugle for about 4 yrs with me been the rope so to speak) The root chakra is cause I've stopped talking with my mom for about 1 1/2 or so and never felt like I was part of the family with her.(among other things) So when I was told about them being blocked then it kind of made senses to me. Again thanks for the info. :)

I, too, found your expertise enlightening.
Have you ever listened to Merlin's Magic? I've been listening to their songs for a few weeks now and so far they are wonderful pieces to meditate and refresh the chakras with (esp. Heart of The Reiki and Uriel, The Immense Power of Peace).
Can you reccommend anything else because I've been trying to put together a meditation CD specifically for chakra meditation.
Thanks! :)

Hello!
Thanks for the positive feedback, I'm most flattered! The best way to choose music for chakra meditation is based upon the feel of the music. I would say choose primal drumming for the base chakra, watery music for the sacral, obviously music that engages an emotional response for the solar plexus (because the this chakra is ruled by Fire, it is appropriate for the music to be passionate as well), the green of the heart chakra reccomends music that opens us to our love of nature, for the throat music of self expression is appropriate (chant, poetry, shouting music etc), music for the third eye would be anything that takes you on a journey (I have a piece that is the sound of an island as thunder approaches and then goes) and for the crown anything that is ethereal & spiritual (gospel choir, very transcendental new age music etc).
The criteria I would choose it would be based on its feel, so:
Base - Earth, grounding, stabilising, secure & basic.
Sacral - Water, creative, nurturing & abundant.
Solar Plexus - Fire, willfull, passionate, fulfilled desire.
Heart - Air, love for the world, nature.
Throat - Spirit, expression, communication, freedom.
Third Eye - Spirit, visionary, clarity, balance, music that stimulates the visualising faculty.
Crown - Spirit, ethereal, bliss, union.
Further to that, those interested in clearing chakras may use the following note or vowel toning to balance the chakra:
Base - U & note C
Sacral - A & note D
Solar Plexus - E & note E
Heart - I & note F#
Throat - E & note G#
Thjird Eye - A & note A
Crown - U & note B
I hope this is of help,
Martin

Hello again,
So instruments and notes would have something to do with it?? I'm drawn to soft piano, flute and harp music. I have included one choir piece in the first cd and I do enjoy it. Hm, wonder if I am drawn to cleansing/clearing the crown??
Thank you for the insight! ;)

Now this is cool stuff.
Back in the 70’s, I was in a sales class, where the guy preached ‘enthusiasm’.
We’d sit around and chant “Enthuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuusiasm”.
I was one of the folks that ‘got it’.
I still chant “Enthuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuusiasm”.
The difference, is now I know WHY it works.
Thanks!

Knowing you just a little, and sincerely understanding the feeling of needing to clear the heart chakra...
When you attain the info, Funkpuss, could you toss it my way?
1> I wish you the best energy and guides in your journey away from the old heart's pain
2> I hope you will emerge stronger and see the other person in a whole new
way (and feel wonderful about yourself!)
3>Just betwn you and me; being in the stage of "loss" of a relationship is so much closer to healing your Self than being where I am now... still trying to bend myself in triple twists to make the "love affair" work, yet knowing deep inside, ( as I try and try to find the mutual respect and unconditional love I hoped for,) that your very being is losing it's life force and your love has turned to need... I tryed to get home tonite, and let him persuade me to stay- dumber than I thought I was, gosh darn it all! (out of here at 1st light)
Good healing to you, woman:
I know not much about chakras, and I know too much about the pain you have briefly described to me...
I'll be there sooner than I'd have thought, I suspect.
let's try to wait for guidance,
take our vitamins,
and find a new fragrant oil to rub all over ourselves when we get too sad...

Hello,
If sound or colour isn't clearing the chakra, then maybe try an affirmation for the chakra, some ideas are below:
Base "I am grounded in my being" or "I am secure in who I am"
Sacral "My sexual expression is fulfilled" or "I am fruitful" or "I am comfortable with who I am sexually"
Solar Plexus "I do not absorb negativity" or "I am a worthwhile person"
Heart "I accept love from others" or I give of myself freely" or " I am connected to myself"
Throat "I can express myself freely" or "What I say has value" or "I have the right to be heard"
Third Eye "I can see clearly" or "I am focused" or "I am at ease with the now"
Crown " I am at one with the universal energy" or "I am open to all knowledge" or "I am enlightened"
The best way to use affirmations is to constantly say them as if you mean them, until they start to affect your life. Look yourself in the mirror & say them over & over with meaning. Write them out and stick them on the fridge, on mirrors etc so everywhere you look you reinforce the message until you start to believe it. Eventually it will break through whatever is holding you back. If this doesn't work, say so & maybe I can suggest something else?!
Love & Light

I just thought I'd mention another method for clearing or opening you chakras.
Most energy workers see the chakras as cone shaped recievers for universal energy. When there is a blockage the cone is said to drop or droop and this prevents it from taking in energy.
Certain tones or vibrations have been found to make chakras stand up. The most effective tool for this, in my opinion are an assortment of Tibetian signing bowls. These are bowls made of bell metal that when struck with a wooden dowel clear a space or make the space sacred. They can also be sung by rubbing the wooden dowel around the rim of the bowl. They are also very effective in meditation. I find them good for clearing chakras because within one bowl you'll find at least 10 tones, I have a few bowls, so I just take each one and work on each chakra with it, I strike the bowl wait for the vibrations to end and then I play it for some time until I believe I reached all the tones within it.
I do this with each bowl on each chakras and always notice the difference. Well that's all.
Blessed Be

Hello,
I have met people who have used singing bowls to strengthen the chakras, but I personally use tuning forks that are precision tuned to the notes of the chakras, then I have another set for the meridians & two of the vessels (central & governing). They are probably a much cheaper alternative than a variety of singing bowls to match the range of tones, and are also a lot more specific. They also have the advantage that you can pair them and get a range of combinations. Although I did pay over £300 for my meridian ones! But I have made that back many times over! Honest! However, I agree that singing bowls are excellent for meditation, although I do personally use drums!

Hmm singing bowl are soo cool. I just heard my first one about a month ago...It was for the heart chakra. I didn't really feel anything in that chakra but more over my entire body. Not sure if that's normal or not but it was still cool. :)
