Creating a spirit out of your mind...

When I was a kid, I read a book issued by Reader's Digest, the theme of the book was mainly about the mysterious things happening around the world, such as UFO, spirit and ghosts. I remembered there was an article talking about creating a spirit. I do not remember clearly the details, the story is more or less like this: "A group of people gathered in a room. First, they created a character base on the agreed traits, such as the spirit was a man at age something, he has bad temper and his interests are.... Then they sit together around a table and start to imagine this character with full concentration. After days and days of mind imagination, they tried to communicate with the spirit, at first nothing happen. After another days and days of spending more effort on the mind imagination, the spirit started to communicate with them. For example, moving objects, writing scribble on paper. They used different questions to verify that the spirit they talked to was the one they created... " I was pretty scared after reading this story. Now, I have another thought, may be the spirit is actually a collective form of energy created by the group of people. This spirit/energy exist only when the same group of people are gathering together. This is similar to spell and prayer, to control the flow of energy. The lesson I get from this story is, be careful of what you think / wish... Love and Light Carol

Hi Carol, I agree that we can create spirits like that out of our energy or a collective one. Jung even talked about the power of the unconscious mind bringing forth the depths our itself in ways such as projections with one example being fanaticism. Our gods our really manifestations our own projections. if you're a revengeful person your god will have those qualities. if you're a loving person then your god (that you project and make into a reality) will have those qualities too. I think seances are akin to what you mentioned. that's why it is dangerous to do things like that for fun especially the young. Think about this. The numbers of seances that teenagers seem to be involved in always seem to have a nasty and dark aspect to them. The teenagers themselves have this fascination with the dark and evil side thru movies and what other stuff that is potrayed by various medias.. of course something like this is going to happen,when you have a group of young adults with a particular mind set and rampant homones running wild come together with all these energies onboard!

I read a book on past lives and one of the things it said was WAY back when, we where just these FORMs of energy(wasn't till WAY later did we take on a shell(wonder why we did that?)). We would group together to collectivly "build" something. I can see how these two things are simular. I thought though that maybe the spirit was not created, but called, specifically filling the criteria of the group.
