has anyone every worked w/ crystals in a healing session? i used to but when i moved 6 years ago i lost my most important one. it's a hand sized amethyst that's shaped like a wand. i found it yesterday. i was so thrilled b/c i thought i'd never see it again. i once used it to do auric healing and relieving pain. since it hasn't been used in 6 years and has been lying in the dark in a box, i'm wondering if i need to do something to recharge it or cleanse it? it feels very good to me after its long rest but i don't want to use it w/o being sure that it's back to working shape. anyone got any ideas?
i've also found a bunch of my old crystal books. it feels like a sign from the universe that i'm supposed to get back into using my stones again!! i feel good about it and look forward to studying my books again.

truthsayer,
the same happens to me, stones/crystals are calling very loud... my crystals are at my parents place (3000km away) and I don't even remember properly where so until I get there myself and search activley, they will be lying in a dark box too.
I ordered some "new" ones though.
As you have experience with crystal healing, I have this weird idea and would like "experts" opinions ... I was thinking of making a rainbow with crystals of every color: amethyst+sugilite for purple, sodalite+lapis-lazuli for blue, grenate+spinelle for red, tourmaline for green etc. Is it a silly idea? Is it better to get ONE big rock crystal for example and concentrate on that one?
If different kinds of crystals are put together in a pouch do their energies interfere/mess up with each other?
Thank for any info,
Kissa

I would say it was time for that crystal to come back into your life and if it feels good to you I wouldn't worry about charging it although you may just want to cleanse it in some sea salts or if you have a cluster just set it in the cluster. Go with your intuition.
Certain crystals come and go in our lives when we need them the most. If you do feel the need to charge them then a good way is by the light of a full moon. Enjoy!

i know that you will get many different and valid opinions on cleansing and charging crystals, this is mine;
first i literally wash them in natural, not tap water. then i wait for a solstice moon. i split a stick and put the crystal in the split. then i put the stick in the ground (like a stake with the crystal on top.). i make sure not to expose it to sunlight, more on that later!
if i can't wait for solstice, i put it under the moon everynight for a complete moon cycle, again not exposing it to sunlight.
i've also read that, after cleansing, striking the base on a rock, can recharge it, but i've not tried this myself.
i was intrigued by something i read recently in one of my shamanism books, it was the idea that men should charge theirs under the sun, and women under the moon.

kissa, as long as they're cleansed, imho, it's fine to mix them. i do! in fact a clear quartz can increase the power of the others stored with it. i think a rainbow collection would be a great idea for cleansing the chakras! but i'm not an expert. :)

I remember reading once about how you can make a medicine wheel from the different crystals, along the lines that you describe, and putting it into the garden to sit on and meditate.
that's all I really remember, but it's a fascinating idea. You could combine it with relevant colour flowers and plants. An area with immense power in your very own garden!

hey Kissa --- I recently saw this beautiful "chakra" necklace -- with a corresponding stone/crystal for each chakra. I think it's a great idea!!!! :)

thanks for the advice everyone. the crystal medicine wheel sounds very intriguing. i like the idea of crystals and flowers together. i have the making of this in my rose garden. it has a birdbath in the center. all i'd have to add is the right flowers and crystals. i've been trying to think of a way to pep it up!

I am just begginning to get into crystal medicine. I picked us a great book called "Crystal Medicine" by Marguerite Elsbeth. This is a great book which calls upon Native American legends and techniques to use the crystals.

Kissa,
The energies of the different stones and crystals shouldn't necessarily interfere with each other by causing any to stop working. You can combine stones and crystals to enhance the effect. Take stones/crystals that have similar purposes or those that compliment each other and put them in a little pouch to carry with you.
I did something like that for a friend of mine...but sorry to say I don't remember which stones I included. But it was to promote success and limit apprehension for an upcoming court date. I looked up some different stones and combined some for her.
And like zorya said, add a clear quartz crystal to magnify the other stones.

Thanks everybody !
It was Mother's Day in Finland today so I got a veeery nice present on saturady : we went in a big stone/crystal shop to pick me some ... Yes I was finally able to find a shop here so that I could pick MY stones and didn't need to order them. Great ! I have a nice rainbow of colors, I just forgot to take a black stone so I guess I'll just have to spare and go back there. I mean, if I have to drive 150km, I might as well pick more than ONE onyx, or what ??? They also had tarot cards !!!! :D
Just have to get into some serious book now, but I have to admit that just watching at the crystals is worth it !!! Isn't it just magick, when you look for ex. at sugilite or lapis ? I get the feeling that human being hasn't invented anything and even the most colourful outfits we wear look so boring compared to stones !!!! ;)
