collective unconcious?

Ok, I'm sort of groping around the edges of a thought here so please bear with me. If we are all a part of a collective unconcious.. then it makes sense that we can have telepathy and other forms of ESP. It would also make sense that many artists might stumble across the same idea at the same time. For instance: the movie "Sixth Sense" and the movie "the Others" and the book I'm currently reading "Imajica" by Clive Barker are all talking about ghosts in a similar fashion. That when they die they have nowhere to go. In Barker's story this is because a new "god" has closed off all access to heaven and hell. Now, what I find fascinating (and quite possibly frightening), is not that these artists all had similar ideas, but that I found these all in a very short time frame. And this isn't the first time that I've found correlations between things I've seen or read that I wouldn't normally notice. So, my question is this... could the "conciousness" be prodding me (us) to find new questions or answers in the things I read, or is it just blind chance? And has anyone else noticed things like this happening? Rhiannon :)

Ok, I hope I am on the same subject that you are on. (Sometimes I totally misread what someone is talking about!) I believe that we (the collect unconcious here on earth), are being sent "messages" as I'll put it, from those in Heaven. That some things are MEANT to be known here on Earth. And to ensure that something will happen, more than one person will get this message. Example of this happening, throughout history and even today, people are "rushing" to get their inventions patented. Sometimes someone will beat someone in just days for the patent, one person beating to the punch before another person who may be way across the country, whom in no way could have known that this other person has the exact same idea. I think we here on Earth do get sent ideas from above to better our lives here, or even to just ensure things happen in the way they were meant to be. Lin

everything is connected. synchronicities are everywhere, you're just beginning to see the patterns. the more you look, the more you will see them. pay attention to the patterns you are seeing, they are trying to tell you something. by the way, i believe this is part of the way the tarot works also.

I see the patterns more and more, and the odd part is that my belief in a higher power is fading. So I am left believing that the collective unconscious is generated only by us, and by the other creatures living on this planet, and by powerful currents of thoughts and ideas that came from people long dead (the recurring mythological themes that Joseph Campbell talks about, etc.)

Thanks guys. At least I'm not the only one. My mind has just been jumping to some pretty amazing conclusions lately and I wanted to make sure it wasn't just my imagination... or at least not all of it anyway. Rhiannon :)

:THERM..similar to herd instinct...I remember reading something about land being fenced off...blocking migrating animals traditional route...the fence was broken down quite a few times in the first few years but somehow THE HERD learned to go around the area...if there wasn't such a thing as herd instinct then each and every animal would have to break down the fence several times to learn...:TFOOL
