Pentagram + Venus + Inanna + Ishtar

While surfing some Pagan sites, I have glimpsed at some invocations associating Venus and the pentagram. I think it was something related to Astronomy... And the other two names of the Goddess were featured too, related to a duo/double entity, something like that... I have tried to search on the Web... But the keywords don't seem to be quite right. I would be interested in knowing more about this. This link between Venus and the Pentacle was given for granted, but I can't see it! :( As if the Pentacle originated from Venus (it could also be the Astrological Venus, I have no idea...), as if it was a "gft" of the Goddess... I am confused on account of the Elemental association as well, since Venus = Water generally. Can someone help me? PLEASE! :(

Before the classic period in Greece, she was the mother goddess, just like Demeter (Venus originated from Cypern (sp?), not from the Greek mainland, btw)

Ok, Pollux, I'll try to figure this out: Venus, Ishtar, Inanna, Isis, Erzulie, etc are all the same aspect of the Goddess associated with love, beauty, let's say it in French: "L'éternelle feminin". The pentagram is also associated with Venus because when you cut an apple right in the middle in half at the horizontal line, you'll get....a pentagram. Hope this helps a bit.

It was exactly what I was looking for! THANKS!! :) The double entity was probably that of Morning/Evening Star. If I am not wrong, they were associated to different Goddesses... I think I'll go a bit further in this... Thank you too catlin! I encourgae all the people reading this to check that link! It is awesome!!! And that site rocks! :D (My problem is that after a while I get strained at my PC, and not reading in my first language gets boring after a while... Well, Bookmarked! ;))
