Dear all, My dad and brother watched a TV program last nite about the children soliders in Africa. As I did not follow through the program, I did not which country it refered to. Anyway, what I got from the program was that the children were being caught by the soilders and forced them to fight in the civil wars. The worse thing is not only forcing them to fight, but also teaching them to participate in brutal acts such as how to torture the defeated enemies or the innocent civilians (do not want to go into details on this). Some children escaped but always afraid that they will be caught by the soilders again, the penatly will be death. While for some children, when the rival sects agree to cease fire for a period of them, the soldiers let the children go home. However, the children either could not find their families or being rejected by their families because of the brutal acts they had done while in the army. In the program, a boy who has escaped from the army asking, "who will help us?" I was so upset and angry after watching the program, childhood should be the most happy time in the lifetime. Children are powerless and should be loved, protected and nurtured, not being exploited. After going throught all these wars, no children can live without nightmare in the rest of life. Especially the resources are scare in African to help these children... There is little that I can do. I will pray for these children. A humble request, I hope you can too sending some loving thoughts and healing light to these children. Love and Light Carol

I most certainly am with you on praying for them...how can anyone commit such brutality to innocent children??? They will definitly be in my heart and in my prayers. Blessings, Rain

Rain. Thank you for this new information however let us pray for all the children in the world who are brutalized. There are much more stories that we don't know about and our future depends on their survival. Let us visualize the light of healing and love surrounding them in warmth and projection. That their souls become strong and help reaches them is some way. Peace and Blessed BE!

Thankyou carolliketarot, Rain, and PurpleGoddess for posting and responding to this thread. I have been more sensitive toward pain, abuse, neglect ect of babies and children ever since I became a mommy. Sometimes all of this negativity really brings me to tears. My husband said "Well you can't save the world, Lin." Which is true, but even he has been talking about how sad and f'ed up some childrens' lives are ever since we had our baby. With that said... I am sending my love and light and hope to the babies and children who don't have the chance to live happy and healthy lives. Lin

I'm sending love & light like crazy, but I still feel bad that I can't do anything more to help those kids. :( Some things are so horrible that it's hard to believe they really happen on this planet.

Carol: I was so touched by your post. Oft times I have wept bitter, bitter tears of helplessness and despair for these children. The children of Liberia, of Sierra Leone, especially, where the child soldiers are so common. But one finds them in many other countries too. In Mozambique during the terrible war against Renamo, they were often forced to kill their own parents. I have never been able to find any peace of mind when I think of them. All my prayers come to naught - I am just left with a feeling of hollowness and deep, deep sorrow. And all that is left is the hope that my tears will help wash away the horrors that these children will leave behind them when they eventually die - for what they have lived through will be an open wound till the end of their days. May God bless them a million, billion, trillion times.
