sudden insight

There was a thread a while back on here about the fourth face of the Goddess. (I think it was titled Maiden, Mother, Crone, ? but not sure.) After skimming over the topic, it's been simmering in the back of my mind. Then it hit me. Why wouldn't the fourth face of the Goddess be the mystery of death? It only makes sense in a twisted way. To be reborn as the maiden, the crone would have to die. We aren't meant to understand death or see what comes after we die, imo, so the Goddess turns her face and won't show us what happens. That would explain why She won't let the moon shed light during the new moon. Right?

goddess of death and rebirth. (don't remember how it is i know that, but i've known it for a long time! LOL ) love the moon analogy!

yes and its probably why a lot of spellbooks say not to do spellwork on the new moon, associating it with death probaly isnt good :THP

Here's something to think about. What about the dark side of the moon? >the speed that the moon revolves an it's axis >the speed the moon orbits around the earth is =sychronized such that it appears to us that it does not'spin' unless we venture in to space we will only ever see one side of her.

Wow. You mean I was right? *LOL* That only seeing one side thing fits in with this, too. The Goddess only wants us to see the 'living' side of things, and not the 'dead' side. Wow.

Well the Christian Term is the Gift of Wisdom i believe,tho I thought before it was a subclass o fthe Gift of Prophecy Sometimes the Lady will suddenly reveal a truth to us,often about herself or some other divine nature, someties something someone you are talking with just needs to hear at that time. I get these fairly frequently,usually by meditating (thiinking hard) on a suject. Mine are Christian in origin tho so many people wont be interested :) I get the second type a lot too, one example here was back when someone mentioed food being stolen eing an anoyance i went into a thing about how much that food must of meant to the person who stole it,like i knew the person who stole it personally. Anymore i know the feeling when im hooked up to the Lady messages and can even get into the state at wil, tho she wont always have something to say lol :THP

Actually you get to see slightly more than half of the moon's surface during a cycle because it wobbles on its axis as it turns round the earth ... ( can't remember where I read that!) I tend to think of Her 4th faces like this: The maiden as the girl, The mother/warrior as the mature woman, The crone as the elder, The death hag as guardian of the underworld / summerland / land of the dead/ place between death and rebirth. PS - Hey, I'm interested in your insights Liliana, Christian or not! :)
