People realizing when its their time

Hi everyone,

After reading and posting in another thread I thought maybe I should start a thread on another tangent:

I've noticed a lot of old people know when their time is near. My grandma did, she didn't say it outright but subconciously I think she knew because for about a year before she died she kept talking about her parents and how she was an orphan because she didn't have her parents and that she wanted to be with them. She also said several other things like that when she saw "the light" again she wasn't going to walk away from it like she did the last few times.

----------

I've have seen another strange occurance(almost feels like a curse) in our family, family members die after recovering from a severe bout and have a high/strong period of health just before they die. I've gotten to the point that I don't want to hear that an elderly family member is "doing really well after being sick for so long..." because they generally die right after such a recovery. Its a horribly deceptive because it gets up everybody's hopes...

Does anybody have similar experiences?

A month or so before my grandmother died of a heart attack, she dreamed that all her (already dead for years) relatives were gathered around the table, and that she was cooking soup for them. When she told me about her dream over the phone, we were both silent for a long moment. And then reassured each other that it meant nothing, absolutely nothing...

my grandmother, knowing that she was dying of cancer, had her twin write down a series of numbers. a few months later she died. the numbers were the exact month, day, hour and minute of her death.

At a dearly beloved's house I felt that all his personal things were "dead", as if no life were left in them. His things sort of seemed like dust to me, old left-overs. If fact, the whole house seemd dead. I don't know any other way to describe it. At the time I couldn't account for the feeling, but within a month he died of a heart attack. I just remember thinking that I don't care about his possession but that I'll love him forever and that we'll always be friends. A quiet experience, but a memorable one.
Namaste,
Debins.

Before my grandmother died, my father heard her talking to someone in her room. When he asked who she was talking to, she replied her sister (deceased). She died soon after.

Also, my nephew came to visit me and unknown to me was planning to take his own life, while we were talking I noticed that he seemed (visually) uneven. (yes I know that sounds weird), but it made me ring his mother and tell her I was worried about him and didn't know why. He took his own life 2 days later. I have since read that people can look like that prior to death.

I bet that health workers must see many unexplainable phenonema.

Before my Nan's auntie died, we went to see her. She'd been in a lot of pain so we didn't really know what to expect.
She told us that she was in a beautiful green field, filled with flowers and birds, it looked like paradise - and that her husband, who had been dead for about 5 years was coming to fetch her. She looked so happy, and told us that she couldn't feel the pains in her chest anymore.
She died the next day never realising that she was still in her bed, she still thought she was walking in this 'paradise' waiting for her husband.
It was a lovely calm way for her to go.

Both my great-grandmotehr and my grandmother started talking of persons and things long gone by before they passed away.

I have the "gift" to see it in ppl's face when they will die. My first experience with that was pretty shocking because it came out of the blue but now I have grown accustomed to it.

Re: "I have the "gift" to see it in ppl's face when they will die." I'm quite interested because I can sort ot sense it.

Wow, I'm curious too... but I'm sure that must be hard on you catlin, I'm not sure I could bear that kind of knowledge, however, I wish I had realized the signs that my grandma's death was near...she and I had just fought some months before and I had moved out (she raised me) and even though I needed to move out and gain my independence I wish I had seen it coming because I could have spent more time with her before it happened.

What a beautiful homecoming feeling that dream has... I mean very traditional and comforting.

Your post brought tears to my eyes, thank you for sharing it. That would be a lovely way to go...not being in pain and not feeling trapped in bed in a hospital but rather existing on the otherside until its time.

I've read books with similar stories to the ways you all have been describing to me but it feels more real and true to hear it from my fellow Aeclectians... I hope more will share their experiences, its neat to hear.

It'd would be neat to do/find a study done on those who have passed away and seen things like Emily and Tigerlily shared and find out what religious preferences they have. I think it would prove once and for all that no religion is absolutely correct and that those of all religions and creeds reach the otherside (heaven if you will)... Perhaps John Edward would be one who could draw up some type of survey/statistics since he deals with the otherside so much.

Sorry to jump on this tangent I just have always felt that most (if not all) religions are correct in some aspect or another and that no one religious group should be able to say that all other religions are wrong.

Well, you don't know my family...

Right before my mother's cross over, she announced to me weakly that "It's time to go. Everybody is here".

But in the room there was only me. So I think she was referring to the love ones that were waiting for her on the other side.
