reiki study group: attunements

let's start at the very beginning. a very fine place to start! (can you hear julie andrews singing?) what was your experience of being attuned to the vibration of the reiki energy? what did you see, hear, feel, experience? how was your cleansing process afterwards? do you still have contact with your reiki m/t? in light, jade reiki master/teacher - usui lineage (add the degree under your name during this study group please)

I didn't have any special experiences during my attunements. After my second degree attunement, however, I clearly felt that the energy had become a lot stronger. Now, when I give or send reiki, I feel it very clearly, whereas before I sometimes would feel nothing at all, or just a little bit. I can't remember anything specific about the cleansing process after my first degree attunement. I'm currently still in the cleansing process of my second degree attunement and I do feel that at the moment I have very strong mood swings; I always have those, but they are a lot stronger right now. I was attuned by different reikimasters for both degrees. I did have email contact with my first reikimaster after the course, but then I moved and went looking for another reikimaster for my second degree. I still have contact with her, because I haven't finished the course yet ;) (I will complete it this Saturday). During these two weeks between the two parts of the course, we're having email contact about how things are going with my reiki sessions. But I will definitely see her again after the course, because I'm going to do a tarot workshop with her in the autumn. ;) And in the future I might even do the third degree attunement (not the reikimaster course, just the attunement). tarotlady reiki II - usui lineage

I've been attuned to levels 1 and 2 twice, and to 3 once (but I don't use it and don't remember much of it, so I only consider myself a level 2). I really didn't have much in the way of detox. I think I caught a cold shortly after one attunement, but nothing really memorable. But the goofy (?) thing is....I couldn't tell you what happened during either of my level 2 attunements. I managed to sleep through *both* of them. LOL. I still am in contact with all of my instructors. My first round of attunements (including my 3rd level) was done over a couple of months. It was an e-mail class and distance attunements. The second round of my attunements also were distance, from Karen and Susan at Reiki_On (it's a YahooGroup). Ladyhawke Level 2 - Usui

Hiya Jade!! Well, I just reveived my Level I Usui Reiki attunement a few weeks ago, and haven't felt the same since. It was a distance attunement, done by a member here, SkyDancer1111 I felt an eerie calm come over me, but at the same time, felt so energetic. I was lying on mt bed when I was receiving the attunement, and about 15 minutes into it, I got really restless! Then, at about 30 minutes into it, my hands got really hot, and turned a bright red! I told this to SkyDancer, and she said that it took some time for my hands to take the reiki! Weird! She also said that the Archangel Raphael appeared to her during the attunement, and added some of his own reiki into me as well. She said that it was rare for him to appear. I am going to start working with him, if he will let me ;) I have also come to the colcusion that I am going through the 21 day cleansing. I have been very tired since the attunement, and have been drinking a lot of water. Well, I hope that this study group continues!!

My first (Level 1) attunement was wild - I was having really bad cramps and heavy mentrual flow that day and almost didn't go. After the attunement I had no cramps and actually *stopped* flowing. This never happened to me before and never happened again. My second (Level 2) attunement caused my body to purge about 3 hours after completing everything. My third and last (Master) attunement just caused me to feel really light headed for several hours after the fact. I guess by then I had learned how to accept the energy better :) MagicMadrigal

my first 1st degree attunement was very neat. i saw bubbles of colours and i could feel the heat of my reiki m/t's hands. i was blessed to be re-attuned many many many times by her. i was going thru a healing process from childhood sexual abuse and her re-attunements and the weekends i spent with them was very healing for me. (fri night, all day sat and sun) this level cost me $150 for the first attunement and all the other attunements i did an exchange with someone.....sent someone healings etc. then i received my second degree a few years later by my reiki m/t's newest student that had just become a m/t herself. (this is one of the $10,000 veins of reiki) it cost me $500. it took me years to finish paying her and i never really used the symbols because i never felt comfy using them when i hadn't finished paying for them. the difference between first and second degree was huge. years later............ i was blessed with my third degree attunement and then my 4th 21 days later. this vein was more affordable which pleased me greatly and i also really liked the idea of living the reiki principles for 21 days as well as reikiing a chakra a day for the 21 days. i felt the reiki go deeper with just one attunement for each level. now, i still get re-attunements (and do the 21 day cleansing). i have sent them to myself and have received them from my one reiki m/t student (i'm soooooo proud of her) as well as some other cherished m/ts that i have had the pleasure of meeting. i find that now my attunements are much more interesting. because they are done by distance, the teachers hands don't hold me down in my body......instead i have wonderful trips and visions during my re-attunements. getting a re-attunement is like a huge blast of energy that greases my path 9for lack of a better way to explain it heehee) i find that my life starts moving and changing and blockages are blown away :D i love them. i have day to day contact with my current m/t but none, unfortunately, with my 1st and 2nd degree teachers. :( in light, jade

i received my level one attunement a week and a half ago. as i was receiving it, i first thought i had felt it in the back of my head then the top of my feet, for just a minute or two. about ten to fifteen minutes later i started seeing slowly spinning wheel like images. with spokes and no rims. kind of flower like. they were not in a line, like chakras, at all. they were more random and all different sizes. that night and most of the next day, i cried, and cried and cried. lol. i'm into my second week of cleansing now. the crying is long over and all seems to be going fine. the hardest part has been not harming any living thing. haha. we live in the woods and ticks are an everyday occurence. then there are the wasps and ants that get in the house. hahaha. go free little tick, far far away...heeheehee anyway... i just had a very stressful weekend, the kind that would normally leave me feeling depressed for days, but i find myself coping much better than in the past. i also find myself laughing at more things, even in the midst of stress. hugs to my m/t!!!! zorya level 1- usui

Hi all, my first experience was a Reiki session that opened 4 of my Chakra's..very neat experience saw a symbol (asian, that I have not been able to identify come into my heart chakra. then I saw someone in a white robe with med. brown hair and light coming from his hands and feet in front of me, with his right hand slightly away from his body...my teacher told me it was Jesus and he had his back to me as if to say follow me. My actual Reiki I attmenemt was calming...my teach had me visualize myself walking into the woods to a clearing..seeing the sun..them animals appeared. a Dear, a Skunk, a Crow and an Eagle. I thought I saw a spirit..a light in the corner..kind of in the woods. She told me these were my spirit guides or animal guides. It was a wonderful calming experience..I am not going through any major cleansing probloms..but I also know the Reiki energy could be stronger. Oh yea, on my way to my attunement I saw another asian symbol .. it was placed under the first. I am going to do a Reiki II attument through the internet (free), and see if the energy strenghens.. Question..do you need to be reattuned?.. cj PS would love to know about Reiki Tools..I have Tibetin symbols and a Dorje Bell (have not used either yet)

you don't need to be re-attuned - it is a choice. :D for me, it deepens the vibration into my being....my soul.....it takes me to a stronger place. i don't know if that makes sense to you, but it does to me. ;) in light, jade

Jade: I got my level 1 attunement this past March. Our whole metaphysical group got it at once from a lady involved in reiki_on (a website I think). Anyway, I didn't get it with the rest of my group because I was working that evening....but the reiki master lady put mine into a floating state so I could receive it whenever I was ready. That night after work, I went home, took a bath, then lit a couple of candles, and lay on my bed and relaxed. Almost as soon as I shut my eyes, it began. I saw behind my eyelids purple swirling colors and purple circles that started out small, then got bigger, then seemed to burst, then start over again. Then I got really hot but was afraid to move (was afraid to interrupt it) then our tutor had instructed us to drink water for like a day or 2 afterwards. The only side effect I noticed was some intestinal bloating and gas (flatulence type gas) sorry to be gross. As far as I know, the only reiki I've done that I was totally aware of was on a very sick, dying dog. Within a couple of days of the energy I transferred to him by petting him, he was acting as though he'd never been sick. I'm hoping to tutor with another in my group who is a master now and that she will attune me up to level 3 eventually. Blessings, M.

I am at Reiki I level, Usui method. I'm really not even sure what other methods there are. I was attuned in April, after we had done the 21 day fast/cleansing. THAT part was phenomenal. Even coming into the class after the fast, the m/t said "oooo, you're different." It really radically changed my life. I think I just decided it was time to start living my life for my soul's purpose instead of making everyone else happy. The attunement was incredible. They (2 reiki m/t's) took a long time to go through it, made it very much like a ceremony. I saw a lot of colors, and felt like raining falling into my third eye. I just bawled the whole time, so don't remember it all. It was very emotional. I don't remember having a 'cleansing", just the fast before hand. It has been taking me a long time to pay off my class, and I joined the class because I really felt the Universe saying I needed to be there and the tuition would not be a problem, i thought there was a grant or scholarship waiting for me. So I feel a little awkward and haven't been in touch with my m/t much. Just sending money as i can. But I'm still planning to go forward, and really need to start using it! I haven't done much at all, I guess because I've felt awkward about the money. pshhhah! that's so silly of me!! so glad there are so many of you on here to share with and talk to!! love you guys!

n, i know how you feel. i felt that way about my second degree. i didn't have the money and i knew that christine really wanted to attune me so i said okay and i shouldn't have. i took f-o-r-e-v-e-r to pay her and i never used my symbols (except one) because of the guilt. yuck. that's a big part of the reason i don't charge huge amounts of money..........AND i always wait for the student to want to advance.....so they don't feel pushed into it or pressured. BUT, i bet your reiki m/t would love to have contact with you regardless,......i know that whether or not a student has paid me has nothing to do with my relationship with them as their teacher :D love jade

I was attuned in 1999 for levels I & II. Recently i developed a female problem and it was suggested by someone on this forum (don't know if i should mention names) that I get re-attuned to Level II to help as it worked wonders for someone else in a similar situation. So that's what I did today...I'm so glad i went back to my Reiki Master b/c i hadn't kept in touch with her. She said my energy levels felt great - no blockages - and she said she felt that my problem wasn't wide-spread (the infection). Both of our hands were sweating b/c of the great energy flow. When i first got attuned it was a very emotional experience for me, that is, I let out lots of pent up feelings... This time i felt calmer, in fact i could barely move i was so calm. Anyway, I am so glad i went. I know it will help in my confidence level in using Reiki. And hopefully i will keep in contact more with my Reiki Master/friend. ~MsPisces

i am sooo happy for you. not only that you are re-attuned but that you have reconnected with your teacher :D i suggest to all my students that they keep in contact with me and if they had other m/t's before me, in contact with them too. learning is forever, not just the attunement day. i hope your dis-ease is cleared up soon. love jade

I'm new here and think this is one of the most wonderful sites. I am a Reiki (usui) II level. My mother rolled into Reiki about 5 years ago and got her level one and two attunements within a year. About a year later she received her Master degree and through her I have been learning about Reiki. My mother came to visit me for a holiday in June (she lives on the other side of the globe) and attuned me in Reiki I and two weeks later she attuned me in Reiki two. Both experiences were wonderful. With Reiki I I only saw light (a whole lot of it) and felt a stong and deep connection with my mother (stronger than ever before). It was the type of connection that I had been looking (and longing) for with my mother all my life, not that we're not close, but it was just sooooo different. During the cleansing phase the only thing that I felt were a few headaches (probably because I've been cleansing my whole being/body in my own way for the last 4 years. The only thing that was different was that my hands became very hot at odd times. My mother told me to do some healings to get the Reiki energy flowing properly and it worked, I gave her a healing and my hands went back to normal. My Reiki II attunement was different from the first one. I didn't feel or see much of anything the only thing I remembered was that I was in a super state of relaxation, and that my body was very light and levetating (feeling wise that is haha). It was a wonderful feeling. I do (or try to) Reiki healings (hand on) on myself every night before I go to sleep. I have never had sleeping problems or dreaming problems, but when I do Reiki before I go to sleep, my dreaming becomes even more (it always is) intense and I sleep like a baby. A beautiful feeling Reiki is and the next time my mother comes to visit me (in about another 2 years) I intend on being attuned into the Master/Teacher degree so that I can pass on this wonderful gift from the universe. :-) Reiki light to all of you here...Mara
