how often and in what ways do you use your reiki? i find that i'm channelling alot of the time. but........ i bless myself with reiki every night when i lay down to go to sleep. i've been doing that for many many years and it allows me to get into a peaceful, enlightened state for my dreamtime, IMO. i also send people sessions almost every night but i do that after i've taken some reiki myself first. putting ourselves first is very important to me. i am the only person that i have to be around for the rest of my life......so i deserve to be loved and pampered by me :D one time a woman was tripping and i stated reikiing her as she fell........she really should have been hurt (she fell down some cement stairs near a bus stop) and yet, only her pantyhose was damaged. :D it pleased me that the reiki became wall-like and stopped her from being injured, IMO. i've also used it to assist my car when it won't start! so..........how and when do you use it? and do you reiki yourself and others daily? jade

i'm still doing my cleansings, and reiki myself to sleep (as my dear m/t suggested :D ). i have always sent out blessings to several people daily, and now i add reiki to that! i send reiki to those on the forum who ask or need. sometimes just 5 min. sometimes longer. i use reiki on a daily basis to soothe my children's bumps and aches. i've used reiki on my hubby's car, and have been trying to reiki my computer so that i can post. hahaha i've even reikied my favorite tree. (she liked it :D )

I try to do one reiki session a day, sending out reiki to both myself and others. I use a little "reiki box" for that: for each person that has asked for support I put a small piece of paper with their name on it in the box, and then I send reiki to the box. I've also put myself in the box, because I agree with jade that you should look after yourself as well. ;) I usually use hands-on reiki in bed at night, to help me go to sleep. I always use reiki to "initiate" a new tarot deck that I actually want to use for readings (I don't use it for decks that I bought just because I liked the artwork). I'm also using it for situations. A while ago I bought the book Tarot Spells by Janina Renee, to learn more about doing spells with my tarot cards. But I prefer to send reiki now instead of using a spell. It's so much easier. ;) During my second degree course (which I finished yesterday!), my reikimaster also showed me ways of using reiki to cleanse a room or to cleanse crystals and to balance your chakras. And she too mentioned using it for cars/appliances that don't work. And sending reiki to your empty wallet if you have financial problems ;) (haven't tried that one yet...).

Thank you! I'm really happy I finally got round to doing it! I feel like I've gotten so many tools now to help myself and others in many different ways. I'm already thinking about doing the IIIa course (third degree without the reikimaster aspect) at some time in the future... ;)

hi all, I am still just starting and have used Reiki on myself, my daughter and even a very short session on my father. I think the next step for me is to use it daily, on myself and others (which may be difficult..don't have a large pool of people who want it). I didn't do a "Class". my teacher told me to read and call her with questions...and she doesn't use crystals..can you recommend a book to help explain the use of crystals. cj

cj, i suggest you go thru the archives and perhaps start a new thread on crystals :D using crystals with reiki would be pretty much the same as using them without except of course, with reiki it's better heehee in light, jade

but i have studied many aspects of sending light :O) 1. make a symbol of your situation and harmonize the symbol by adding colors,, maybe an nice oooommmm sound. and expand it or condense to how it feels good to you then add light (you guys add reiki energy, light and love :O) to the sit to make it brighter, and more beutiful. 2. take the symbol and make two copies of it. and put the more beuitiful symbol into your heart. and send the other copy into the universe for the universe to take it and make it in its own way. contrated light sending i call the solor light to myslef to make a bubble around me and i keep adding more light round me til it goes from golden to silver to platinum surrunding me and send it in one blast all the light light built up goes throuh me through my hands i use this to send it a big situation like the world , city, my reserve (i can't sustain constant energy sending due to my health) right at the center of the body is a core star it exists at center that is beyond time and space. it is the part of you that is the soul.. the part of your soul which is on the earth plane that is the true you. you connect to yourself by connecting to this true start to remember who you are. then you send this light to your hara it is one inch below your belly button , and an inch above your sexual creative center. on a differnt level. you send your core star energes to this hara to realign your core self with your intentions of why you have come back to the eath plane. this is a powerful excerise for after you doen powering up the little ball so it is bright magma red you send your core star energe to every part of you body and then send your hara energies up to every part of your body. til you glow. and t hen you send the core energies to every chakr you have , and then your intentions to empower them. but where does reiki fit inhere ? imagine sending it first to your core star,then to your hara ? and sending reiki plus your core energies to your hara , and then you corestar,hara, and reiki energies to your whole body ? the energies be two fold :O)

well im just starting to use reiki, ive recenly unlocked the ability. now this really isnt on the forum topic, but i was wondering if there are any books i can get to help me learn about it, ive look around here and there isnt anyone who pratices reiki, i can feel the energy, but i have difficulty controling it. any help would be very much apprciatied

WhiteDragOn: what about your reikimaster, can't s/he help you? I don't know any good books about reiki myself (the few I have aren't particularly good), but maybe someone else can give you a few titles.

Hi, There are 3 books I can recommend. Essential Reiki by Diane Stein...This is and aways will be my guide. Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Myss, PH.D....This book is the story of Caroline Myss and explains the Chakras. I felt this was a wonderful book. Reiki Fire..this is a book on my "I want" list..was told this is a wonderful book. Good reading..was told ..read everything you can get your hands on. PS..Books on Angels and Guides help too. CJ

I had an interesting experience using reiki the other day, which shows that reiki sometimes works in unexpected ways. My left foot had been causing me trouble for a while, it was painful, sometimes very painful, most probably because of some sort of infection. I have these every now and then. I had already tried using reiki on it, but it didn't really help. Then last weekend my reikimaster told me that reiki sometimes works very slow in infections and it's better to get out the negative energy first, before applying reiki. So I decided to do this with my foot. After I had finished, my foot did feel a bit better. But the other thing that happened was that suddenly I just knew what was the cause of the problems I had been having. So instead of curing the problem, reiki showed me how to prevent it. Isn't that beautiful? :) Oh, and my foot is a lot better now too! Just wanted to share this... ;)

I'm sure there are many ways to get rid of negative energy, but this is what I learned and it works for me ;). First, you draw a picture of a person on a piece of paper and you put a circle on the part of the body you want to treat, in my case the left foot. Then you hold a pendulum over this part, to check whether there is negative energy in there. If the pendulum tells you there is, you use water to get it out: while still keeping the pendulum over the picture, you put your other hand in a bowl of water. That way, you extract the negative energy and let the water absorb it. You can feel it in the water: I felt it go really cold, as if there were ice cubes in it. By the time all the negative energy has been extracted, you can also feel it in the water (I felt it getting back to room temperature) and the pendulum will give you a "yes". You thank the water and throw it away and then you rinse your hands thoroughly, to wash away any negative energy that may have been left on your hands. Then you apply reiki to the part of the body you've just treated to fill it with positive energy. You can also use this method to check whether your chakras are balanced (draw a picture of a person with all the chakras on it and check them one by one using the pendulum) or to check whether a room or house needs to be cleansed (draw a picture of the room or house).

Ok, I want in! :D How do I join this group? I have recently gone through Reiki I, and was hoping to do Reiki II this summer, but alas, no fundage present at the moment. *sigh* but I am moving anyway so will need to find a new teacher. Can I just jump in or do i have to do anything? i tried doing reiki on my cat this morning. Sam did a tarot spread on his bunny (hee hee) and so I thought i'd do some on our cats. they mostly came up accurate seeming, except that my one cat supposedly needed the 3 of swords (i'm like "right!") but in the osho zen, it shows a guy crying big fat alligator tears. well, my cat has been tearing up a lot lately, don't know why, and i checked his eye and sure enough, he had cut himself, maybe scratching away a goobie. so i put some ointment on it, and this morning when he woke me up and i'm half asleep, i reiki'd him. he seemed very calm and seemed to enjoy it (until the other little bugger came and chased him off) i'm also going to use some rescue remedy, but does anyone know how long it might take to see if he's taken it well? people can respond immediately, but he has seemed skittish and nervous all day. *can i ask something as well? you know how it's not really good form to do a spell for someone without their permission? is that also true with a tarot spread and sending reiki? i don't think reiki could hurt at all, but do you need someone's ok for that? and with tarot, i might be interested in finding out what happened to, say someone missing on tv, but without their ok, is that invasive? hope you all don't mind me butting in here, i'd love to be a part of this discussion, especially as you are all like minded and "healy" types! :)

What good timing for me to get my new computer!! I am so happy Jade started this discussion about Reiki...i've been wondering how others use it as well. Thanks, Jade! I am attuned to Levels I & II. I use it mainly when I am in a crisis situation, or during my rituals to cleanse the area. But i really want to learn new ways of using it. ~MsPisces

In case that is not possible, such as with children and animals, you can try and see how it feels, and you will feel it when they don't want to. It's the same with hands-on reiki: when you try it on an animal or child and they don't want it, they will let you know! But most will like it. I once tried it on my niece when she was about four months old. She definitely liked it, because when I removed my hand, she grabbed it with her little hand and pulled it back towards her... :)

I am starting to put reiki into all of my tarot decks, but having 20 decks, makes it hard sometimes. I usually just do one a day. And if I get a new, but second hand deck, I use reiki to cleans it. I also put reiki into my pillow and bed sometimes. It really helps me to get a good night's sleep. I also planon using it to clean out my chakras. I tried it on my root chakra, and lets just say that there was a noticeable change ;)

first off,.........why use water and a pendulum to remove the negativity when reiki can do it. just channel the reiki into the foot with the intention of removing the blockage or negativity. let it drain thru your grounding cords (hence the reason to be grounded when using your reiki) and voila! it's done. i've said this before and offended someone so please don't be offended................my mom says this often to me..........."if you want the whole horse and pony show fine, but it's not necc. simple works just as well" in light, jade ps ms p.....nice to see you back again :D:D:D:D:D:D moderating note: nap, feel free to start a new post for each of your questions.....that way people can answer them for you. :D people not interested in reiki won't be reading these threads but they will have great info for you!

it is my belief that you don't need permission from the elderly, very young and from animals to send them reiki. :D (and they seldom say no when you ask their higher selves for permission) but if they don't want it, send it to the area around them :D when children are vomiting......don't reiki them, it makes them vomit more......instead reiki their aura and let the reiki fall like a mist of rain........then it's soothing for their tummies. for missing people of tv.......what a beautiful gift to send them reiki. if i hear my neighbours fighting, i always send a session over to their fight.........to diffuse the anger and open communication. clear communication heehee love jade

This method is meant to make it work quicker. It's not about a "horse and pony show", it's about what works for me and I just wanted to share it in case somebody else wanted to try it. To each their own.

no you weren't.....actually this is an excellent opportunity. one of my very firm beliefs is that we often impose limitations on ourselves and then live by them. rather than allowing our experiences to be without limitations. for example: i can say that i can read the tarot and scry on a crystal ball....nothing else. or i can say (as i do IRL) that i can read anything. i have read everything from a rock that someone picks up off the ground to a doodle. a carved sculpture (i read for the artist) or by reading the blades of grass that are around my client. i don't allow limitations therefore there are none. it's not an easy concept to live but once you do, it's sooo much easier to do stuff cause you aren't so caught up in the 'supposed to' or 'have to's. in the case of reiki..............you can impose a requirement on yourself that you need to have these items with you when you work on a client, there is nothing wrong with it, it can greatly assist you in your confidence.........but once you have that confidence level, try releasing those limitations and see what happens :D in light, jade ps who always learns from her own posts as well, i am totally stressed out about a situation where i have allowed limitations to be put on me...my words are a mirror for myself :D thanks tarotlady :D

here's another use for your reiki. wanna increase your "O"? wanna make your love making even better? send yourself and your partner a reiki session before you make love, and let it flow during your lovemaking. WOW it's amazing. i discovered this by chance........my friend sent me a session and well, we just happened to be......well,.........um..................in the middle of something private and the session enhanced the experience greatly!!!!!!!!!! heehee jade

I just did a past-present-future reading with my Osho Zen deck, and the King of Water with the keyword "healing" turned up in the present position. I thought it was very appropriate, as I'm currently doing a lot of healing on myself using reiki and the King of Water shows a man with healing/reiki hands on him... ;)

the guides suggested in barbara ann brennan book hands of light to send blue to plantium colors through the infection to clear it. so when you send reiki do you send energy and let it take its course or do you direct it much as i do with guide work with colors and images outside of the reiki teachings (if there is )

combining enegy techqiues such as those taught by barbara ann brennan and guide work with reiki would make you a better healer one would think ? is it not possible to combine reiki with reflexology, polar therapy, color therpay, charkas work , therputic touch, guide work where the guide enters your body and channels the light through you? perhaps that is a next step for the reiki guides to enter the body? please understand i am not talking about diluting reiki, what i am refering to is after you are attuned. would the other techique not be enchanced ?

of course you can use reiki with other techniques but you can't direct reiki. reiki goes where reiki is needed. it goes to the source of whatever your higher self/ the reiki energy........sees as being where it is most needed at this time. but you can use reiki with everything. i use it with the tarot, divination, even bathing my kids..........i reiki my plants when i plant them..............reiki my food while i cook.........etc etc etc in light, jade ps tarotlady, VERY well said :D

since i had reiki1 attunement i used it almost every night before sleep, now i never skip, it feels so good and it's great for falling asleep :-) when i work the late shift i have time in the morning, i like starting the day with sending myself as well. i mostly use it for myself, when i send to others before bedtime i need to watch out not falling asleep reiking myself first, so when i am very tired i change sequence and send others first. i send loads of reiki to animals, especially my own dogs and they love it :-) i noticed that when sending others i seldom do hands-on, even when it's someone i can easily visit. kaz

i forgot to say that since i really discovered for myself what the reiki principles mean (wasn't educated this in reiki1), this changed lots, it's not only about using/channeling it. if you live these principles you are reiki, that's what it is about, be reiki, put your hands on someone and it flows. kaz

The root chakra deals with sex drive among other things with men(it is the second chakra for women), and mine has gone sky high!

I've read that some where, and it makes sense if you think of it. The Chakras follow the glandular system, and in men, this would be the testicles. In women, the sexual glands would be the ovaries. Anatomically speaking, the qovaies are higher than the testicles. Does this help, or did I just make it worse??? LOL! I have a habit of doing that sometimes. And zorya, I knew that. And men peak at my age. Wouldn't it be strange if all couples were a 40 year old women and 18 year old men. LOL!
