It helps if you are already nearsited. You have to dilate your pupils to allow more light to come into your eye. How doyou know when you are dialating your pupils, well, things seem to go a little more blurry. Think of it this way. You know how pyschics look at people when they are telling their fortunes: that blank look,or trance light look, that is what they are doing. that is what i do when I am reading for people and yes I see Auras. That is what works for me. Also, you may have to prepare some seals or planetary tables to aid you in the divining arts. Just simply ask an entity to helpyou to see auras and things and get that request granted.

I was in a workshop a couple of years ago when I was first beginning to explore metaphysical things. The man who was teaching us spoke in one of the sessions about auras. He told us that to learn to see auras, the first thing that we needed to do was to relax the focus of our eyes. The exercise that he gave us to do not only helps you soften the focus, but it's fun as well. :) We used a Magic Eye puzzle. You know, those ones that look like all sorts of patterns, but when you focus correctly you end up seeing a 3-D picture in them? My current update is that I finally learned to see the 3-D picture. LOL! Now I get to start working on seeing auras. He also told us that it was often easier to try seeing the aura of a tree or your own hand because it would be a fixed object and you could have plenty of time. You can do your hand like you do a Magic Eye puzzle...put it up close to your eyes until your focus is softened and then pull it away slowly.
Well, I've just spent some time searching my house for a book that I have on auras...about learning how to see them. It has a lot of exercises in it to help. They increase in difficulty as you go through the book. Obviously, I was still working on the beginning part when I was reading it. LOL! I bought it at my local Barnes & Noble maybe a year and a half or two years ago. It has a lot of colors on the cover...I'll look for it some more and also see if I can locate it over at B&N's site. If I find it, I'll post the title and author for you.

Aura Energy for Health, Healing and Balance by Joe H. Slate
That's the book I have. I found it on B&N much faster than I could go through the piles of books around my house. (Maybe I need to organize my piles???? ;))
If you go to B&N's website and put in a search using the word auras, it should find 261 titles for you. You could then check out your local library to see if they have any of them or could get any through interlibrary loan.

P. S. I'm back again. I did a Google search using "how to see auras" and got a TON of hits! Here's one that takes you through step by step how to teach yourself to see auras.
http://www.tower.net.au/~rsb/guides/auras/auras_14.htm
Try searching with Google...I only looked at this one site. I'll bet you can find everything you would need from this one search. It'll sure keep you busy going through the hits. Several of them looked like exactly what you were wanting to know, and I only skimmed the info on the first ten and went to one site.

This one teacher told us to put our hands arm distance away from our faces and stare at it for a whilelooking at a white background, you will see the main color of your aura and with practice you will see the whole thing. I tried looking at my husbands head while he was at the computer one night and saw a beautiful glow around his whole body. (not related to the computer) It is truly a beautiful sight.

Thank you folks, for both the links. Very interesting! I have yet to really see the aura, with colors. But then I haven't really done any of the exercises either. I guess in the past I have been under the impression that some people are just gifted with the ability to see auras, some aren't.
I can understand the part about the color/auric opposites, because I Have seen this with my own eyes (on objects). And I did think it was like an aura, but then figured it was just "my eyes playing tricks on me", kind-of like when you stare at the sun and then look away and see spots.
How do you know when you are seeing an aura, on a person or an object, Or when your eyes are just having an effect?
Oh , on one of those links it said that the colors we wear everyday affect us and our health. It said that generally, women wear brighter and more variety of colorful clothing than men ( I would agree). And THAT is why women live longer than men , on average! Also, in the bird kingdom, it's the males that sport brighter colors and male birds live longer! ( I never knew That!)
