The energy...Inside or outside?

Hey folks... How are you?...Hope you´re all fine!!! Well, I have been thinking... Do you believe there is really a God, or some sort of higher and universal energy out there, somewhere???...Or everything we call God, etc., is just a name for our true and natural inner energy and divine nature??? When you try to get in touch with some higher energy, for whatever purpose, do you try to connect with your own inner energy, or you believe you are getting in touch with something else??? What can you tell me about that ???

I believe in universal energy, that is in all living things. So I don't really believe in a "higher" energy, because this energy is everywhere. If I want to get in touch with it, I look at nature: I feel in touch with it when I'm enjoying my garden or when I'm scuba diving and enjoying the underwater world. I don't use the word God/dess, I just call it... energy, I guess... ;) Interesting question, gives me a lot to think about...

Ramses! I missed you! Personally I believe in a higher energy, a God, but a little bit of this energy resides inside all of us, and in nature, and also in nonhuman spirit beings (angels, faeries, etc) So I try to get in contact with the outer energy to strengthen my inner energy, and I contact energy in nature and other spirit beings also to enhance the amount and kind of my inner energy. :THP

i believe the energy of "god" is everything. that god is inside me so that i don't have to go outside of myself to pay god a little social call. churches are humankind's attempt to manifest a special place on earth to learn about god. in churches you are taught that god is on the outside so you have to learn about god externally. i believe that everything i need to know about god is inside me, inside nature, inside everything just waiting to be discovered.

I believe in God Above, God Below, God Within. My best friend is a ceremonial magician who puts his emphasis on his own divinity, including making some changes to traditional ritual to invoke from within rather than call upon from without. I'm still struck, however, by a sense of encompassing, ineffable divinity far beyond me and my comprehension that neither begins nor ends with my own soul. Laurel

.insde is your core star your soul is located or the part of it that resdes in the body outside the higher you get the more higher the forces you get the ulitimate goal for some is to reach christ consciouness. some used to say the godess force was in the earth. and it was called mothe earth by my people. yet in truth the goddess force is female aspects of the all.. the all is divided up into both god and goddess who is one in the all. the mother earth angel is called gia nd conneting with her and erth will makeyou grounded and peaceful. you will learn earth magic. ex power spots, herbs, journeying, animal medicine while going uphigher will teach you more abut soul levels, life lesons, life purpose, past lives, guide work. it is kind of like in shamanism there is the upper levels you can reach , the middle which is earth and places upon earth and the lower where the lower dimension are where somtiems you have to go to recalim part of yourself.

I’m in agreement with Tarotlady. I do not feel there is a conscious deity that created and guides. I believe in energy, that everything is made of energy, even solid things. I believe that the ability to manipulate this energy is by a sort of ‘muscle’ that we have. Just like any muscle some are developed at birth or easily developed, others must work at it, some just do not have it. I believe that all energy flows together, through each other, but still remains separate. I believe just as today’s science is yesterdays magic, that today’s magic is tomorrows science and one day it will be common knowledge and practice even in ‘intellectual’ circles. Often my beliefs are easily comparable to ‘The Force’ from Star Wars, if that helps anyone, hehe. No, I don’t pray to a higher power, nor believe in one. I do not believe in heaven, nor hell. And I dislike the assumption that everyone believe in /some/ higher power, because some of us don’t. (making no reference to you at all, just latent anger from current events :) )

Hi Ramses! Nice to see you back! Where have you been????? Okay, now to your question. I guess of everyone's responses, I'd be most aligned with tarotlady, too. When I make an oferring or ask for a blessing or protection, I am asking for this from an external energy. But I wait until I "feel" it internally, if that makes any sense. For example, if I don't feel compelled to do these things, I don't.

I feel that there are many different energies which comprise the universe, and that even though they are different streams, they all make up a universal energy flow. Sort of the way a prism splits the light into different colors, think the universal energy has component frequencies too, but they all share the property of being a unified field as well. This Many into One is how I describe Spirit. I also feel that different lifeforms experience Spirit in different ways, appropriate to who they are. A turtle will experience Spirit in a different way than me. A tree will too. I also feel that I experience Spirit in the form of a loving Goddess and God. I always knew that they were there. When I was a little kid I called them my "Other parents". When asked by my physical mom to describe them, I, with the innocent capacity for description children have said ,"Mother Nature and God!" I don't believe it's any accident that I have held this to be true all of my life, and that I'm a practising Wiccan now. And then there's the concept of what I call Sentient Electricity" which I believed was produced organically back in the days of the good ol' primordial soup. The ancient lightning struck the goop, and we had atoms forming molecules, molecules into amino acids. Then the peptide chains started rolling along, here come monocellulars then the first bacterium and so on, all the way to now!. Hello big electric life!

The reference I can make that will be known by most is the general idea presented in "Conversations with God" - that's pretty much what I believe too. "God's creation" is that a part of "God's" energy is within all of us, rather that very energy IS what we're made of. We're not just created by God, we're "made out of him"...! I don't really call it God though, on the other hand I don't have a good name for this higher, universal energy. So I guess I'm with the rest of you and just call it energy. But I think it's both, inside and outside, it's just everywhere! Jenny :)

Well, this is something that has always puzzled me a little bit... Haven´t we simply created a "God", just because we needed to put a face to the dream of what we would like to be???... Well, I don´t know... I just think that, everything people aim at becoming, everything which is positive, is within the figure of God... and everything we feel ashamed of, everything we regret, is in the figure of the Devil...(these, of course, considering the christian religion)... That´s basically the origin of these doubts of mine (summarized, of course...)
