This is a strange predicament for me. Maybe Jade can offer some input!! I was asked to provide a protection spell recently for a friend. I researched this and prepared a spell I thought would be effective for this person (a cleansing bath, candle ritual, charm bag and prayer). I really spent some time on it. Now I found out that this person never performed the spell. Her misfortunes continue, not surprisingly. So, I guess I want to know what happens to all of my energies that I put into this that weren't used? I recommended doing the spell Thursday night, during the full moon. If she just holds on to the packet I gave her, do you think the "ingredients" will gradually lose their power? What if she tries using it some later time? Now what??? Any advice will be appreciated greatly!!!

Hi Jeannette :)
If you put a heck of a charge into it, it shouldn't lose power right away. If she does the spell within 2 moon cycles, she should be ok, unless you put a timing thing or decay factor into it. If she doesn't use it before then,I would ask her for the stuff back, and charge it up again. Then when you give it to her, make sure she realises that it's important for her to do it. The energy is the energy of the moon phase and time of the charge, so she can do it anytime, really, and have it work. Sort of like cord/knot magick in a way. but she should do the spell within 2 moon cycles.

After all of your time and energy that does seem a bit rude but...
Perhaps she simply decided she didn't want to do a spell.
Or perhaps she expected some hollywood "eye of newt, nose twitching, wand waving razzle-dazzle" that you didn't deliver. No matter.
Do you think she still may use it?
If so, I'd just let it play out.
If you don't, did you ask for anything to be returned to you after the spell was completed?
If you did, I'd politely ask for that back and simply remember the incident the next time she asks for magickal help.
If not, then personally, I'd let it go and try very hard not to let the incident get in the way the next time someone else asks for help.
As for your energies, you tried to do a good deed in a positive fashion.
That will not be forgotten.

i would have her wait at least a couple of weeks until the moon is waxing. your spell was to add protection, not remove something. the waning moons are best for removing.
if she has never done spell work before, it may be simply that she would like a little "hand holding" through it. could you do most of it with her?

this is purely my belief on the subject.
there is no time and space so ................
whenever she chooses to perform the spell it will work for her.
did you perform some type of an exchange with her? exchanges are vital, esp. where magical things are involved. even her performing a random act of kindness is acceptable, but there must be an energy exchange, IMO.
so.........it matters not if it takes her 30 years to perform the spell, it will still be just as powerful as if she did it today. after all the intention of the spellcaster is what is really important.
and protection spells can be done during any moon cycle, they are equally effective.
there are some spells that are way more effective during a moon cycle, like a banishing spell for example. but protections can be done anytime they are needed :D
love and light,
jade

Thank you all for your advice/knowledge/experience! :) I like your idea, Jade, about the energy exchange thing. A kind act does seep appropriate. It's kind of like publishing thanks to a saint for favors received, I guess. I'll post any further developments!
