? about sending reiki

help! :eek: i've seen so many postings about "sending" reiki to strangers, people on tv. etc. How do you do this? I'm only familiar with the hand positions when the person is right there. Do you just visualize the person, put your hands together and think it off to them? Hands apart? And what is the best way to do it for animals? I find my cat is ok for a while, but i can't really tell if he's feeling it. help!

It is something you learn in the Reiki II-course. I've heard however that you can also use a photo of the person you want to send reiki to and use the hand positions on the photo. I haven't tried that myself though.

you can also just trust that the reiki is going where you have the intention of sending it. so...... hold your hands about 6-12 inches apart and visualize the person or situation between your hands. then start to reiki. ask the reiki to go to the person/situation and trust that it is. in light, jade :D ps in your second degree attunement you will be given a symbol to assist in this.

thanks you guys! i can't wait to find a teacher in seattle. Do you guys know if there are lists of reputable teachers in different cities?

I would also love to know some names of teachers in my area, but haven't had much luck in my search so far. Any ideas on how to find one?

where are you in Michigan? I am in Lansing, and my Reiki I teacher is fabulous (if a bit intimidating, she is very powerful!) If Lansing is not too far from you, I recommend going to her, she's remarkable. PM me if you want her name/number etc. I'm moving to Seattle in a few months, so am wanting to find someone there. Anyone know of someone there?

Napea, I have a friend who is a Reiki master here in Seattle and a great guy... but we fell out of touch over the years. I'll start trying to hunt him down and can keep an eye out for others. Laurel
