BOTA Packet Arrived

My first BOTA packet arrived today. Look interesting, but I'm not sure of its for me.

i got mine too yesterday. looked it through and well, i think it is just about sitting down and do it! i will do the three months i payed for and then see what i think about it and if i want to continue - but i think i probably will. the christian things in the material is a bit disturbing but i am just working around it for now. catlin, they took about two weeks to send the material to me the first time. and then it took even longer to actually get the lessons but i chalk that up to the fact that they needed to register me and so on.

Its the Christian part of it that concerns me. It seems a little on the cultish side of things. They don't come out and say it, but the words of Paul Foster Case and Ann Davies appear to take on some type of deeper, religious meaning. While I recognize the importance of learned authors in any field, deceased BOTA leader Ann Davies is repeatedly refered to in their literature as, "our beloved Soror Ann Davies." The materials elevate the Tarot and Kabbalah to the status of "holy" in reference to their brand of Christianity. While the Tarot has has become an important part of my life, I'm not comfortable modifying Christianity to include it as part of the religion's iconology. In short, their views are inconsistent with my conscience. "This above all things: To thine own self be true." Hamlet, Act 1, scene iii.
