Familiars/kindred animals...

Ok, I know at least Shirley McClain has an animal she thinks she had a past life with. Anyone else here feel that way? I have two cats (and my sister has one, we live together). While both of my cats were strays we took in, when the first one showed up, i really felt he came to be with me. That he was my familiar. That he had a mission to be with ME - not just in a safe home. I looked really hard for the right name for him, and named him Sadhu, which is a Hindu Holy Man. I feel so connected to him, and have even had dreams about him. Actually he was a dragon who could talk to me in one dream. I really feel like he and I may have had a past life together and he is with me again to help me on my spiritual journey. anyone else with these ideas, or am i just plum freakin crazy???

Hi Napaia, I had a cat once that I had the same feeling with: she was my familiar. She was a stray that came to me and she continued to live a semi-wild life while she was with me. We bonded very well and we actually use to play 'hide and seek' with each other. She understood the game very well! She was a very wise kind of cat and had luminous gold eyes. She was great! My daughter was young at the time and named her Claudia after the Vampire chronicles character. It really fit her. I think we definitely may have known each other before.

Cats as Dragons... I should search for the thread, but I am too lazy now. This was already discussed somewhere. I think there also was a post about a past life of a Cat as a Dragon - I just hope it was not by you Napaea, otherwise it would be very embarassing for me... *LOL* My Familiars so far are two cats. One is black, but I still haven't met him. I meet him on the astral plane, and it is a sort of very very very high guide, quite detatched I must say... as ifhe wanted me to experience life as freely as possible, and sometimes also make the necessary mistakes... The other is red, and he's always searching/calling for me when he is in the area. Strikingly, they both are close to me yet very... independent. They prefer to walk along rather than indicate a path. I like it! :) They probably want me to be an independent person.

Ok, I have 4 furry familiares: Adi is most interested in tarot, Benny loves assisting me in creating incense, and Toby's + Lucky's "mission" is still unrevealed to me.

I am owned by three lovely kitties, but only one would I call my familiar. Rocky (Roccocco) is a 23 pound, black tom cat (very muscular - he looks like a miniature black panther) with green/gold eyes. He's very vocal and will cry throughout the house when looking for me :) Anytime I begin a reading or even sit on the couch studying books, he comes running and needs to be sitting on my lap or touching the cards. :TJUDG Starfish

I had one real familar in my life, he name was Elisabeth, Lizzy for short. She came to me wen i was doing ritual once and bonded herself to me, surprised me, by charging a rune bracelet i always wore at the time. I have no idea if we were together before but i doubt ill ever bond as strongly with another animal, i just had to think about wanting her and shed be on my lap. Her and her twin sister were pretty magickal tho, they like to "switch places" without moving, and also go through closed doors. Their mother was my husbands familar for many years, so that isnt surprising. Unfortunately, the day before my house caught fire (I was in florida) she ran outside and was killed by a car. I think she knew what was coming. :THP

OMG, Lilliana, i'm so sorry! but i'm sure you're right, she probably thought she'd get stuck in the fire and just made an alternate out. wow, that's so tough. thanks for the info, pollux, it wasn't my thread about the cats/dragons! :) i will definately look for it though. my cat also looks alot like a jaguar, black (what else for a witchy type?) and he loves boobs! OMG YOU GUYS!!! MAYBE DIVINERGUY TAKES OVER MY CATS BODY AND IS CHECKING OUT MY BOOBS!!! jk!!!!!

I love cats, but I think my current bonded animal is my rabbit, Everest. He follows me around the house (even if I don't have any banana in my hand) and nudges my ankles. Our cat, Nigel (a female, BTW) has really taken to me, even though she came with my husband. She won't sit on anyone's lap but mine, and loves to look at me with her green eyes. I swear she understands me, but hubby says she's just enjoying the attention. I think he's just jealous... :)

Hey, I feel that two out of my six animals are my familiars. My cat Cleo (a black and white moggy) and my dog Nanook ( a border collie X) they both help me in very different ways. I feel this is the third time Cleo has been with me in this life and i think her abilities are very strong. She once spoke to my friend and told him that yes she was her to help me but not yet as i am not advanced enough or words to that effect. I think when i get more into casting circles she will be there to help me, as whenever i pick up my broom and she hears it she comes running. My dog Nanook sees spirits and also sences negative energy and alerts me to it. I have been able to communicate with him more than any of my other animals, although at the moment he is on a diet and is sending me "I Want Food I Am Starving" messages and i think he is creating thought forms too to help him get more food. LOL He went to agility class the other night and my other half came back with a free bag of food for him, one of the trainers "felt" he needed this bag of food. I found a really good book that helped me start communicating better with my animals, its called "Natural Healing for Dogs and Cats" by Diane Stein there is a chapter on communicating and psychic healing as well as death and reincarnation. I found it facinating. Gisele

Aqua-Gisele :) wow, thanks so much, i don't know why i didn't think of that! I have the book you mentioned, and have been trying to figure out how to communicate better with out cats, and i totally forgot about the book! i don't even know if i ever got to that chapter! thanks, that will help alot. my cat is like your dog. he is very sensitive to spirits and energy- we can always tell when something is up, cause he'll go into the kitchen with his nose up in the air, and he follows these things around the room or ceiliing with his eyes. i know they are not bugs, cause he is a GREAT bug catcher and jumps (quite high i might add) all over to get at a bug. when these energy beings are here he just quietly watches them for hours! right now, every night, he has been going to the door to the basement and crying. this cat used to never make a peep. never. like, maybe once every 3 months he would meow. now he cries every night at the basement door, and i don't know why. we keep asking him, but don't know. letting him in the basement isn't an option cause the stupid landlord uses poison to kill the mice we keep getting. and he doesn't meow at the mice, he rips up the carppet to get at them! so i don't know WHAT is going on. i will have to check out that book, maybe it will help!

Hey Napaea, I know this may sound well somewhat strange but your cat could be going mental due to maybe lost spirit mice ie: mice that need to be sent to the white light. If you say your landlord is poisioning them and your cat is sensitive to energy/spirits maybe it is that. Another one of my cats Mushu kills alot of mice and every now and then one of his victims will follow him and tease him, making him run into things etc. The chapter in the book i think its the death and reincarnation one explains how animals like humans can pick up lost soul animals, they follow us home and attach themselves to our pets until we move them on or if your pet is really intune they move them on themselves. Every since i read that whenever i go past a dead animal i always tell it to go to the white light. The book also explains how to bubble your animal with blue light to protect it from negative energy if you ever need to, kinda like we do ourselves with the white light bubble. I hope that helps, i am not sure for certain if thats it or not it was a feeling i had when i read your post, let me know when you find out what it is. Om Shanti Gisele
