i'm posting this in spirituality, because yoga is spirituality.
but i understand if a mod. thinks it should be in Chat. sorry, didn't know which.
* what is your favorite yoga position?
I have two: Trikonasana (triangle)
and Rajakapotasana (i'm told this is Pigeon?)
my lower back LOVES triangle pose! it's so simple a pose, but it always makes me feel more connection to my body, i guess cause i can feel and hear my low back going "oh yeah, baby"
I love pigeon cause it just puts me in a peaceful place.
~ what about you? ~

i know what you mean about triangle pose napaea, it's one of my favorites too.
the one i enjoy most is even easier; proud warrior pose
it makes me feel so strong and powerful, and feels soooo good :)
now the pose i least look forward to doing, but do anyway because it is so good for me is; downward facing dog.

oh yeah, i'm with you on the downward dog (which really looks more like my cat stretching). i can never seem to get my legs right.
i worked with a guy who used to call it the "dead dog" pose. probably just cause he couldn't get there.

I like proud warrior, too. But my absolute fav is "relaxation pose" - you know, the one you do at the end of class laying flat on your back concentratoing on your breathing.
I always fall asleep.
Before you think I am being silly, I'm am completely serious here. It feels *great* on my back and it realy does relax me!!!

My favourite yoga position is tranquility and I also must say savasana or yoga nidra. Tranquility is so relaxing. I also love lunges and the half spine twist. I think it is hard to have just one favourite yoga position.

Even though it is really complicated for my chubby muscly legs...
Ad the Kobra - even though I don't remember the traditional (-sana) name right now
HEY! I am so jealous!I want to start Yoga classes too! :(
And if you don't put the -sana names, i don't understand which ones you are talkig about... :(

Just a note in here for Pollux - tranquility comes under
Sarvangasana - it it one of the variations done in this posture.

Hmmm... I am a beginner to yoga and my three favorites are:
Cat tilt (heavenly for my back!)
Easy pose (I love using this one for meditation - or even full lotus)
relaxation posture (I sometimes doze during this too, Amyrel!)

Downward Dog is my least favorite position! (I can't get my heels onto the floor :( )
I like "Lotus" (not sure of all the names of the positions here). My body is laying flat on the floor facing downward, then I raise my arms up behind me and my legs up also.
I also Love (I can't think of the name!) It's like a sphinx. Lay flat on the floor facing down again and raise whole upper body up by my arms . Very good stretch for back.
Oh well , my significant other is making me get offline so He can use computer :( .

My favourite yoga postures are, salute to the sun, salute to peace, the standing flow of energy and the five tibetans. I guess they are not really postures more sequences. They make me feel really focused and energised after i do them. I guess to me they are kind of moving meditations. I also love the stomach lifts.
Om Shanti
