well...
it's been about a month since my initiation into my path, and it's happened again.
i was out in my garden, lying under our willow tree. a very hot lazy summer day-- we're in the midst of a drought-- with the air almost too heavy to breathe. an alice in wonderland moment.
i closed my eyes, thinking about all that had happened to me in the last month. my focus has become finer and i'm now in a group that's starting up a tarot e-zine. i haven't written tarot for some time-- my last zine folded about two years ago.
my path has led me to a more practical study of tarot. in other words, the reading end of it. i have spent most of my life dealing on the sword level, collecting and comparing all manners of' arcania.
now, i am attempting the cup level-- feeling the cards, not just thinking them.
and there i was, under the willow, wondering what was to come next. i was in one of the half-states, neither awake nor asleep, where the mind starts to drift.
and something tickled my nose.
i opened my eyes to find that a large tiger swollowtail had gently lit down on my nose, and was looking down at me. it slowly moved its wings back and forth, stretching out. then it turned around, facing my feet (and the east) the butterfly took off, fluttering aroung the garden for a moment before vanishing.
well...
what's a raven's wing?
i guess it's a swollowtail...
first the majick, then the transformation. i guess i'm doing pretty good here.
so 'ravenswing' becomes 'raven swollowtail'
i wonder if i get a middle name.....???
pondering the majick of it all

when i look at the name tiger swollentail.
a voice said it was the way the tiger choose to approach him.
the tiger whch is notrious for being a predator and such was revealing his gentle side to you.
the gentle side when a mother plays with the cub.
no worries mate, i have a squirrel for a power guide and my clan is moose so i could call myself moosemunk or chipmoose?

holmes: i think chipmoose is great!! :)
wow, what a great experience you had!!
hang onto this, cause i hate it when these kind of experiences are over.
i shared with some people here a couple of those moments i've had, and then you go back into the real world, and i'm like "NO!"
but the memories stay fresh. i'm so glad for you.

Chipmoose is great, just promise me you wont use Moose chip! Lol.
It's awesome that you have felt this. I have felt this before, and just never known what to call it, but it was never to the extreme that you have. congratulations.
Blessings,
Ron

Wow... amazing moment. Congratulations for being "there" in spirit to recognize the significance of it. I bet the universe is trying to speak to many of us, but we are too busy for those Alice in Wonderland moments.
Thanks for sharing them with us. It's very inspiring!

a snail oozed onto my ankle the other day. i thought about the fable explaining that all the bumps on buddha's head are actually snails that he was too compassionate to remove. i wasn't quite that compassionate, but i did find it a nice grassy spot in the shade.
should i be emily twoottersandasnail?

What a Divine moment! If only I could mind a few more rabbitholes myself.
The image that popped into my mind while reading your story was as the swallowtail turned to your feet, a tiger's tail brushed and tickled your nose. I don't know if that means anything for you, but I loved the image of it myself.
What a blessed moment. Thank you for your story telling!

Very interesting... I've just taken things like that for granted...
I had a grouse land on my shoulder, and then when it took off, I saw a wolf looking at me about 40 feet away from me. What do I do? I say "here puppy, nice puppy..." it looked at me as if I was rabit and ran away. It wasn't until later that it was a wolf.
Is that the same sort of thing, or am I missing the point.
