i read somewhere that for most practitioners of the goddess path, you will find one goddess and serve her. some, they say, will have a goddess, god, and something else, but that typically it is one goddess.
~ what about you? do you have only one you serve devoutly? or are there more that share your love? ~

just recently actually, I have been really drawn to saying "Mother Azna" when I call upon Goddess, more times than not anyway. Other times I use "Goddess".

generall just refer to the Goddess in general. But I do have a beautiful pendant of the celtic goddess Brigid that I wear almost everyday. Especially when I leave the house.

I generally speak to/of the Goddess in general but I do feel a strong connection with Kwan Yin. For thouse who dont know who she is Kwan Yin is the bodhisattva of compassion. In Buddism a bohdisattva is one whi had achieved enlightenment and refused it choosing in stead to remain on this earth to help those in need.
She is very special to me though I do not consider myself her devotee.

I don't know if I can sneak in too... Anyway, simply Goddess for me too.
Soemtimes I do pick a special "aspect", mainly from the Hindu pantheon... Sarasvati, Parvati/Kali/Tara and Durgar mostly. The Durgar is like saying "goddess" in english though... :P
The God IS the Horned God instead. I have tried to focus on other aspects, but I fail - especially the Wisemen/Shaman... OUCH! Gotta work on that...

Goddess in general for me too. Although I am drawn to certain aspects of her at different times. I have a gorgeous Hecate pendant I wear (the image of a beautiful face with hair blown delicately across her face, creating a sense of mystery; this is perfect to me because I think of her as the Goddess of Mysteries). I also am drawn to Athena (which is probably the Libra in me; love that sense of justice and that warrior Goddess drawing her sword (my card is the Queen of Swords)).
Blessings -

Oh, Starfish!
Where did you get the Hecate pendant? She is very special to me.
I usually address the Goddess as 'Mother' because that's who she is to me. When I was a little kid, I got into trouble a lot, because I insisted that the poor priest was wrong, and there was a Mother and Father God, not two guys and a ghost. Needless to say, this did not go over well, but all was attributed to the overactive imagination of a 6 year old.
Since time and distance has only reinforced my realisation of, and connexion to, the Goddess and God, it was only natural for me to end up practicing Wicca!
So, I usually just call on her as my 'celestial mom', but I also call upon some of her aspects when doing specific workings which would require those energies. I try to keep it geared to the corresponding moon phase.(Maiden/ waxing,Mother/full,Crone/ waning.) I have asked for assistance from: Hecate, Danu,Freya, Sophia,Diana, Kuan Yin, Oya, and Oshun.

This is the necklace Hecate - Goddess of Mysteries. I didn't get it from this site (I found it at a metaphysical store) but it's the same pendant.

Like Rhiannon, I am very close to Brighid, who is my patron. One of my dearest wishes in life is to become a priestess of Her Flame at Kildare... One day...
However, I beieve that all deities are oe deity, and thus do not rally call upon the Divine by a name... I just 'sense' It, and call it by that feeling, that sesation. The reason Brighid is my patron though is because for me She is an aspect of that Divine Being which I most relate to...

Well some people might not like it, but my Goddess is the Holy Spirit, her triple aspects are Shekinah/Asherah/Sophia (maiden/mother/crone)
Disclaimer:This is only my view and you may, or more likely not, agree with me, and others who see the Holy Spirt as feminine might view her totally different than me, which is fine hehe

liliana:
my mother (very straight christian, no new age or other leanings) says one of the original names for god was "the many breasted one". i find your association with the holy spirit as perfectly beautiful and it makes sense for who you are. i wish i could remember the right name for this, i will ask my mom about it today.
starfish: thank you! i haven't checked out the pendant yet, (computer is ultra slow today) but i can't wait!!! you really are a wonderful human, did i tell you that yet today?
D.El: ( i always want to call you electra woman for some reason, did you see that show as a kid? she was a super hero)
anyway, i think your post was so beautiful. children are so truthful, i wish religious leaders brought kids to their meetings.
i love your "two guys and a ghost". ha! crack me up!
i too, feel connected to hecate. i feel pretty much like i have three goddesses i follow: isis, artemis and hecate. but i just wasn't sure if i was "supposed" to have one more influencial than the other, one as a "patron" or "matron" goddess.
they so are the triple g. for me: artemis is youthful and the maiden
isis: the loving nuturing mother
and hecate: obviously the older wisened one.
i guess i think maybe they are all my matron goddess, but a book i read made me feel like one goddess would single me out in particular.

My Goddess is the Goddess Brighid...she came to me in a vision and has come to me many a time while i was in meditation and i am dedicated to her. I have a shrine to her in my room. But when i first started practice wicca i just spoek to the Goddess under no name. But i have also worked with many Goddesses, but as i said before i am dedicatied to Brighid so she is the one that i pray to....and i would some day like to become a priest to her

My main Goddess is the Morrigan or Kali (as I couldn't get a Morrigan statue I choose Kali instead or was it Kali who choose me?!) I also worship the Green Tara (Earth Goddess), Maat (Egyptian Goddess of Justice) and Selkis (Egyptian Goddess - protector of the deceased).
I usually make sure to have all three aspects of the Goddess assembled on my Altar although a statue of the Crone is still missing :(

Wow, looks like Brighid is quite popular!
For those of you who identify with her, this is the link to the Kildare Flame which has been rekindled by Priestesses of Brighid...

i find it interesting that diana and artemis are the same goddess. i sometimes call to them both without realizing i've done it...as though my mind sees them both as one and just speaks both names automatically.

Kiama, thank you for posting that link. I looked at the "oaths" page and the first poem made tears come to my eyes. Perhaps someday I'll make a plaque of it to hang near my altar. When I find a piece of wood big enough to hold it all!
Thanks again!

I'm most drawn to the Celtic goddesses, particually Cerridwen. I wouldn't call her my patron goddess exactly (I don't know her nearly well enough for that!) but I often find myself involking the Goddess in Her name, and would like to learn more about her.
The other Celtic goddesses fascinate me too - particually Epona, Arianrhod, Danu, Rhiannon and the Morrigan.
Liliana - can I ask where you got the idea of the Holy spirit being the maiden/mother/crone from? I haven't heard of anything like that before (and I'm intrigued as I named my cat Sophie without knowing it was a biblical Goddess name, I just thought it was greek for 'wise one'! ;))

Until recently, I didn't really call upon or "pray" to a deity, per se, so much as just attune myself with the sacredness of life and nature. However, this summer I had an illumination, and realized that I do have a guiding "deity": The Muse. No particular name, Greek or otherwise; I simply refer to her as "Muse" or "Lady Muse," and have gotten in the habit of thanking her for insights and inspirations. Whether she is a literal "inspirer" or a part of me, the net effect is this: When I honor The Muse, my creativity flows.
And a big part of that is accepting all gifts of The Muse, that is, letting my writing flow whenever a gift of inspiration is given, regardless of how non-commerical or "non-impressive" the work is. Two of the best stories I ever wrote were fanfiction, not Impressive in the realm of being a Real Writer, but they were gifts, and I received them and worked with them, and they have moved a number of people very deeply. It is for this that I write.
Communing with The Muse has become my new definition of "success" as a writer. :D

Father Skyand Mother Earth is something I read in an Aboriginal dreamtime story and i really like it. :)

I'm another for Goddess in general although the pagan name generator anointed me with Athena. I too like the warrior aspect of the Goddess.
